We had chicken sandwiches with fries. They were 10/10, and the service was amazing. We were treated like family. We also had a frozen lemonade which was hella good. I've never been here nor has anyone told me about it. I happen to do a Google search of "soul food restaurants in Antioch" and this popped up. So I gave it a try. 1. Over priced and part of the reason soul food restaurants don't make it 5 years in Antioch. 2. Shrimp Po Boy was trash. A visit to NO May have helped! The coating slid right off as I bit into it. I was so disappointed in that and even more disappointed it only had 1-2 shrimp (cut and laid flat to appear bigger) for the price I paid! The coleslaw tasted like it was out of a bag from Winco. 3. Fries did not come with the meal, so I paid extra. I didn't get them (thank God I looked before driving off) and had to go back in and ask for them and THEN had to wait a few minutes for them to cook. **[*!! As for taste.. Hey, as long as they were thoroughly cooked, they're just fries to me and they were fine. 4. Did I mention the frozen lemonade was the bomb and the best out of the entire meal? 5. Lastly, I paid like close to $25 for everything. I even gave a 22% tip on top of that!! Did you hear me??? A 22% tip!! And it's not dine in!! After I paid for everything, I asked for an extra condiment and I was told "I have to charge you for it"! What? It was at that moment, I knew I wouldn't patronize this business again!! Listen, I know business and I know everything costs. However, I also know 1-2oz of sauce ain't gonna make or break your business!! When you see someone giving tips and they're not even dining in your establishment, you keep them!! You don't nickel and dime them! I could've run my card again for the sauce. But I refused!! Picked up a nice lil spread for takeout lunch today: fried shrimp po'boy sandwich, fiery chicken sandwich, 4-way mac n cheese, the brussles, and a side of fries. The slaw on the po'boy was really good and even tho I was expecting it on a roll, I really liked it on the buns it came on, the Brussels were bomb, we wished the fried chicken on the sandwich had been a little thicker but all in all it was all great and delicious, and we will be back again. Glad the Mac was such a great sized portion too - great texture, really creamy and cheesy with a nice broiled top - we got seconds and thirds and fourths Lol and it came piping hot! Yum! Fries were also delicious and I don't even usually get fries, I was just eating off my wife's plate and I hate hella those. We ordered a lobster roll, large mac & cheese, lobster fries, 10 piece lemon pepper wings, the seafood platter, honey chicken over garlic noodles and a large jambalaya. The lobster roll and the garlic noodle were delicious, as well as the fries. The jambalaya wasn't bad, just not the best. Mac n cheese lacked flavor, however it was very cheesy and the portion could easily feed 3-4 people. As for the wings, honey chicken and seafood plater, DRY is an understatement. It was all overcooked. The seafood platter could definitely of used more seasoning. The woman that was outside (no patrons inside) taking orders was as nice and helpful as she could be! What I did observe after paying for our order, was that none of the employees inside (observed through the window) INCLUDING the two women COOKING, had on any type of face covering. For this reason, I will not be returning, nor recommending this business until COVID19 is long gone, which sucks because I was looking forward to trying the T Rex!! Everything tastes really good!!! Only disappointment was the imitation lobster in the mac n cheese. It was really tasty tho good flavor. Just wish for the money it was real lobster. My partner and I ordered food from this establishment today. I am currently eating the food now and had to drop a review because I am so impressed. After reading the recent reviews I was apprehensive to try this place out at first. However (and thankfully) OUR experience was NOTHING like these other negative reviews. We ordered the seafood platter, mac & Cheese and Lobster roll. Our total after tip was a little under $80. The people talking about this place being overpriced are being totally unreasonable. This place is beyond fair. The portions are ridiculously large. I was not expecting a huge pan of Mac and cheese. I think there was an entire lobster tail in the lobster roll. The fried prawns, wings & fish platter are very fair for the price. Even the french fries are delicious. A lot better than most places imo. Our order could feed 4 people easily. Even greedy people like my boo and I LOL. Our food is very fresh, nice and piping hot and it was ready under 30 minutes.
