Sign of the small plaza.

A small local business in East LA that has decent sushi. We ordered: California roll, Spicy Tuna roll, Crunch roll, and Spider roll. The taste was good and filling. Inside was just the sushi maker and one other worker who was working the register and servicing the guests. Both were nice and greeted us with a smile. The place was pretty busy and it's nice to see this local business is being supported.

I was always curious about this place since I drove by it many times so I decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint, this was probably the best sushi I ever had, it was so yummy and the portions were pretty big too. It was very flavorful. Would recommend coming!

I found this place by lucky chance. The usual teriyaki sushi place close to my work was closed, but I was craving sushi so much so I looked around and it was very close to my work, in a nice little corner. You walk in and immediately feel welcomed. Hostess/server was extremely polite, helpful and nice. My order was done right away and to my liking. I will definitely be coming here more. Rolls were so fresh, and bulgogi entree was made fresh and seriously just the way I like it. It even smelled so delicious, that I knew I'm gonna love the taste. Totally loved it.... Recommend

The service is ok and the food is ok. You can get this at the mall. Decent prices but it's small and kind of pricey for the quality.

When I came back another time, I decided to give it a try. When we arrived, we were given a table number before we started filling up our bowls. The only confusing thing was that the food is priced by kilogram, so it's a little harder to understand the cost if you're used to pounds. Other than that, the ingredients were good quality and the selection was solid. At this malatang spot, you build your bowl first and pay at the end. As for the food, I enjoyed it. I got the creamy tom yum soup, and it was sour and salty in a good way that paired nicely with all of the cooked ingredients. The sauce bar was good as well, with a nice variety of options to choose from. Overall, if I was craving malatang and already at Atlantic Times Square, I would definitely get this again. One big plus is that they give complimentary matcha ice cream served in a black cone. They don't really advertise it, but after reading reviews mentioning it, I asked after paying and they gave me one. Be sure to ask for it before you leave.

Unfortunately, the experience was a bit underwhelming. Service was on the slower side. We waited quite a while to be seated because there was a large group individually paying their checks, and it seemed like only one person was handling seating. We were also seated in the back where the tables felt a little too close together, making it feel cramped. As for the food, it didn't quite live up to expectations. Everything came out very overcooked, especially the beef, which was so chewy it was difficult to enjoy. The soup was also on the bland side and lacked the depth of flavor I was hoping for. They do offer a complimentary matcha soft serve at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch, but it was just okay. Overall, I really wanted to love this place because the concept and ambiance have a lot of potential, but the food was pretty mid. I'd consider giving it another try in the future, but I hope the food quality and service improve.

It's healthy Chinese food which is a cross between mainland Chinese food and Cantonese food. They use minimal oils which some people may consider bland compared to Panda Express level oiliness but I think is still pretty tasty and healthy. The food varies everyday but consists of a vegetable dish, some protein dishes and a soup. You have the option of ordering 3 dishes plus soup or four dishes plus double soup. It's quite a bit of food so a family of four can do the three dish and more hungry eaters can do the four dish. Just cook your own rice for a complete meal or microwave frozen rice from Trader Joe's! I highly recommend it to give it a shot if you want something healthy for your family at a really decent price. The way to order is call between 11-1pm and let them know if you want the 3 dish ($36) or 4 dish ($46). They'll have it ready for you around 3:30 for pick up or you can have them deliver it to you for $5. Delivery usually arrives between 5-6 pm. Best thing is we offered a tip to the driver but they refused to accept tips! Also you can get a small two dollar discount for each meal if you pre pay for 5 meals! I highly recommend you guys try this place if you need healthy family meals. It's affordable, healthy and convenient!

We love their Salt-Baked shredded chicken, which is well flavored and tossed with peanuts and scallions, with tender meat and properly rendered chicken skin, with the meat expertly separated and portioned. You don't find this kind of skilfully prepared chicken just anywhere. We got the special dinner package, which for $47.99, gives you a whole chicken, with choice of Hainan of the Salt-Baked chicken, Rice Noodle with select protein, seasonal veggies, 3 lemon teas (which are usually $4-5 at other restaurants), and another amazing delicacy, the Stone Pot rice, which we added $2 to get the eel rice, which is so plentiful and made with high quality rice, as well as not too much ginger, which means the eel is very fresh. The staff is very attentive and ready to help with things and keep the drinks full (yes, you can refill your lemon tea ). It's a nice Cafe setting and is nice and clean with windows facing the mall. Nice and bright and comfortable. This place also has many options for lunch, including HK BBQ items and other excellent foods. I am going to come here again really soon.

I have been wanting to come here since moving to the area 4 years ago for college, and graduating…read moreseemed like the perfect occasion, as my aunts wanted to treat me to a celebratory meal on June 10th. Delightfully understated atmosphere with unique tiles throughout the decor, and we loved that we could hear each other talk and enjoy each other's company. Our server was amazing, she was so knowledgeable while being personable and extremely funny. I assume she's the cook's wife based on the other reviews - I arrived a little after my aunts, so I didn't get a full introduction since they had already secured a table and had ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. I had my eye on 3 different meat dishes - the Roasted Duck Breast, the New Zealand Lamb, and the Angus Beef Ribeye Steak - and my aunts also had each picked 1 of those, so we went family style, and it did not disappoint!! The chef knows how to cook each type of meat to perfection, and the searing pans are doing exactly what they need to be doing! The Roast Duck Breast was AMAZING as cooked to the recommended medium, with delicious crispy skin. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak at medium rare was as tasty as it was gorgeous! And the New Zealand Lamb was PERFECTION, down to the bone. We also got the gourmet macaroni and cheese as an add-on side, since all the meals come with mashed potatoes and various veggies, and I was in heaven! As someone who used to work at the Disney Parks and frequented the steakhouses and other fine dining both here and in Orlando, Sage Bistro is giving Disney a run for its money when it comes to high-quality meat dishes! The prices reflect both the cut of the meats and the skill of preparation, with it averaging to about $50 each across the 3 of us, which is pretty reasonable for top-tier quality! The only thing I had to be careful about was that many of the dishes have mushrooms, and my throat gets itchy if I eat most mushrooms, so I had to avoid those dishes. During our meal, when I mentioned it to our server for future visits, she was great at noting which dishes could completely be modified to have no mushrooms while also being realistic about acknowledging the dishes that cannot be, which sadly includes the Braised Short Rib that sounds out of this world. But I can have the Beef Rib Soup, so I definitely want to try that next because I WILL BE BACK!!! They also offer takeaway, and were very generous in giving us each a coupon card to use for ordering through their website.

Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. Lastly, the ambience was okay, but it was more an older fine dining/family owned style. It had some nostalgic vibe if you'd take it that way. Keep it up. I really hope it will be there forever long.
