We've eaten many times at Teriyaki House. It's unusually a go to for our family. We frequent the location on W East Ave but it's closed for remodel I think? So we decided to try the Notre Dame location. Never again! We got the Combo 1 and it was completely flavorless and EVERY piece of chicken was BURNT! We grabbed it on the way to work for lunch so went without lunch that night. It's definitely wasn't worth the $60.00 spent. I wonder why they even thought it was a good idea to serve it? I would wait for the other location to open back up before eating at this restaurant. read more

Prices have gone up quite a bit BUT when you purchase a combo you get so much food! I usually don't finish it and have left overs. Tip, ask for extra teriyaki, 1 is never enough. I usually get combo 1 with all chicken and an extra teriyaki sauce. I do wish they gave you more broccoli but I enjoy the carrots and cabbage so it's not that big of a deal to me. read more

Do not come in the morning if you want some chicken. I believe they use leftover from the day before because my chicken was extremely dry, even from the thickest part. It was tough and chewy. Teriyaki House has been a favorite of mine since it opened in it's former location on the Esplanade. The standard "Chicken Bowl" is marinated chicken over a bed of veggies and rice, and covered in a teriyaki sauce. Other combos can be found on the menu, including chicken skewers, egg rolls, and sweet & sour dishes....but it's the chicken bowls that keep people coming back. The chicken is always juicy and the steamed veggies and rice are yummy. Definitely worth a stop for an inexpensive meal. I love this place. Its economical and very tasty. Both the chicken and beef bowls are good but I prefer the chicken. I have never had the "ughh, my stomach hurts" feeling after every meal here. My only complaints if these are considered complaints... First - why cant they have a combo mix with chicken and beef bowl? sometimes if Im really hungry, I will buy one beef and one chicken bowl. First time here after suggested by my ex? The chicken bowl had tons of chicken lightly chared on a bed of white rice with a sauce. The taste was great but next time I'll ask for extra sauce even if I have to pay for it. It was very busy on a rainy night. The workers were working hard to keep up but it did take awhile. The staff is very friendly and I've never been disappointed with my food. The only downside is the 70 cent charge to use a debit card. The food is very good here. I like how inexpensive it is. I was coming here very often due to good portions compared to the pricing. They don't have many options but it's very simplistic. My fiancé and I had been wanting to try something new so we found this place. As soon as we walked in it had a weird smell in the building. We ended up getting the combo #2 each. The service wasn't bad but the food was horrible. The sweet and sour pork was over fried and cold. The rice was old and cold and the chicken was like eating leftovers from the burnt pieces. I was so disappointed in this place I will never return and feel like they truly need to take better pride in there business. We need local!! read more

I love the Teriyaki house I used to hate it when I was younger and refused to eat anything green and good for you, but now that I have grown up and my taste buds have evolved this place is amazing. Healthy, fast, inexpensive, real food; I absolutely love this place. Hands down, the best fast food you can get in town; even if you're not a big fan of asian food, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. When I'm in a rush, (and being a college student, low on funds) the comparison is a nobrainer; would I rather get conventional fast food a deep fried, artificial, cancer-inducing grease-fest, or would I rather get fresh, grilled chicken, veggies and rice, with more food for less money than most fast food meals? The latter, duh. I never have to feel guilty for eating Teriyaki House. As I'm writing this, I am happily chowing down on my favorite combo, the #2. On a massive bed of white rice is steamed broccoli, carrots and cabbage; so delicious. And atop that, sliced grilled chicken, perfectly charred and moist. To the side is an eggroll, a serving of sweet and sour pork, and a cup of delicious, warm, thick teriyaki sauce, which is amazing if you pour it over that chicken-veggie-rice combo. Also, this is THE BEST SWEET AND SOUR PORK EVER. The pork is amazing, I'm not sure what cut of meat they use but it's not like the mystery meat you get in a lot of cheap asian food restaraunts. I think Panda Express is the only other fast food asian place in town, and I gotta say, comparing it to teriyaki house is like comparing ground beef to prime rib... I've also had their tofu which is really yummy. You won't spend over 7 dollars (after taxes) on their combos, and they also offer bowls and sides for cheaper. You won't wait more than 8-10 minutes for your food- mine took about five to prepare. You can call ahead, and I don't know if any of you guys go to the Butte college Chico Center, but now they've just opened a Teriyaki House by the McDonalds by Lowe's, in the little shopping center that has El Patron. My to go container had x2 veggies written on it but it has less than they normally put on a regular serving. The food is great, but the white chick who rang up our order was so RUDE! She had the worst attitude and was darn right HORRIBLE TO US and the Hispanic couple behind us ! Rolling her eyes and half assing her job, and giving us attitudes when we ask a question about one of the items on the menu. She was disrespectful to my husband when he asked for some sauce and just pointed to the shelf that had bottles of the sauce even tho she knew we ordered ours to go. Great teriyaki bowls! My girlfriend and I were craving something fresh and different. We both ordered the chicken teriyaki bowls and for $5 each, it was a great deal! The meat was a good quality, not like some Asian restaurants where they go with a low grade meat to save money. Classic spot! Good place for a quick, cheap, and delicious meal. I always get the chicken teriyaki bowl to go. pretty sure that is the signature dish, but the other stuff isnt bad either. you can also get a combo plate that has some really good sweet and sour pork. They also have a pretty standard curry that is good too. Ive never eaten inside, but when I get the food to go it only takes about 5 minutes. The owner is really friendly and staff are pretty cool too. Pretty sure this is the only restaurant in Chico with anime posters, so that is a cool bonus. read more

There are other meat and vegetarian options as well, and the bowls hold enough to make two separate meals. Customer service is friendly and fast. Combination Plate #1 Char-Broiled Chicken and Beef Chicken was moist and beef was dry and over cooked. Beef was over salted Veggies were cabbage, six carrot slices and some broccoli Veggies were cooked very well The meal was served on a nice earthen ware plate with a cheap plastic fork.
