My son and I stopped by there Tuesday for dinner. My son asked for accommodations in how we were to be sat. He ask for the Hostess to call him by name. He explained that he a few problems that using the phone was difficult. She seemed to accommodate, but in the end was not. She refused to sit us. When called out on it. The other hostess got snarky, the original hostess refused to look at us or speak with us. We choose to say forget it. We being white and the hostesses were not, thought it was fitting to call us racists. Nowhere in this interaction was race mentioned except by the hostesses. My son has a handicap he does not call attention to. Texas RoadHouse apparently does not accommodate the handicapped. We will not be back. read more

I was having dinner at Texas Roadhouse in Greenbriar on Sam's Circle recently with friends and family. One of my family members hurt her leg recently and had a walker she was resting her leg (in a short cast) on. First the hostess refused to seat us because one person out of 4 was running late. So we stood there for a couple of minutes until I finally said there were three rather than 4 and then she seated us ALL OF THE WAY IN THE BACK OF THE RESTAURANT. Needless to say my family member had a heck of a time getting down the aisle to be seated but didn't want to make a fuss. We then had a pleasant dinner and afterward went to leave. I ran back into the store to use the restroom and was behind an elderly woman with a walker struggling to get back TO THE SAME SEAT IN BACK WE JUST VACATED. Now mind you they weren't especially busy and all could have been sat at a much closer table so that those with limitations didn't have to go all of the way to the back of the store but the hostess seemed oblivious. I found the young man that waited our table and asked him to give the manager a message. I wasn't trying to get the young lady in trouble just asked that she be told to be a little more accommodating to those with physical limitations. I tried to look at it more as a lack of training than as a lack of empathy but that was a little difficult to justify. read more

This is your typical chain steakhouse. I would highly recommend reading the reviews because pretty much it's all true! We waited twenty minutes just to have our drink orders taken. Thankfully we knew what we wanted to order, so we ordered our meals at that time as well...thank goodness we did...because who knows how long it would have taken? And all the while, our waitress complained about being tired... Almost all of our meals came with salads... and yet our actual entrees came before the salad! Dinner was mediocre. We all ordered medium rare and not one bit of meat was even the slightest bit pink. I opted to trade said salad in for a baked sweet potato with marshmallows and caramel. It was burnt to a crisp. I recently visited Texas Roadhouse after not going there for at least 10 years, maybe more. We arrived early to avoid the evening rush around 4:30pm. We waited awhile to be seated although the restaurant was very empty. It seemed that they were low on staff. Our table was off in a corner area, standard decor you see in all of their restaurants. There were not peanuts all over the floor which is sometime the case for Texas Roadhouse, which I really appreciated. I'm glad they are steering away from that. We started off with their rattlesnake bites, which are breaded jalapeños and cheese. They were okay, I would not order again. It was not worth the calories for the flavor. For our main dish, I ordered their prime rib with a side of vegetables. You have to ask for horseradish sauce, otherwise they will not bring it out with your food. The sauce was in a to go container, which just looks a little tacky, but I guess good for sanitary reasons. The vegetables were in a separate very small dish. Everything was okay, but not worth the price. I found myself thinking about all the other places we could have enjoyed a steak dinner. The server was kind and friendly but he definitely was overwhelmed. My husband ordered the killer ribs as a extra up charge with his steak, which was not good. Honestly nothing surprising about this resturant at all. Super disappointing. We came with a big party so I understand if they messed up some orders But every single steak was cooked wrong. One girls had a hair in it, a burger looked like roadkill, my steak was literally PURPLE looked like SUSHI. Of a table of 8, 5 people sent our steaks back. Cut it open and it looked like it came straight from the cow. They handed out the wrong orders too so people's orders got messed up. Decided to give this place a try again. Ordered the 4 piece catfish dinner with loaded baked potato and side salad. The salad must be proportioned which is fine however the white pieces were turning brown. The potato was hot on the outside but cold in the middle. My server Alex was amazing! Welp 6:05pm we were on a waiting list and quickly called at 6:33pm ,,,, I told the hostess party of 6 including a high chair and sling she called my name for a party of 4 ??? I told her umm there must be a mistake she told the seater just put them at table 136!!! This was not my favorite roundhouse, and I've spent my fair share of time inside it's of different locations. The food was good, if slightly cooler than I'd expect. The service was slow but not so bad I wanted to leave. Not as good as it used to be. My wife ordered a burger and steak fries, this was not bad. I ordered the beef tips and they were terrible. First, I ordered medium rare and they were like eating rawhide and overcooked, they were nice enough to take it back and give me another, but this time, they were mostly medium rare, with some medium, but the outsides were chared, so basically tasted burnt. These were very tough as well, like they are giving you the tendons of the extra meat they cut. The manger asked if it was better, I said not really and she offered a 3rd time, but I declined. She was nice enough to take 15$ off the bill, but I would have been happier with a good meal. We did have the chili as an appetizer and it was as good as always, so thumbs up for the chili, but you go to a steak place and you shouldn't have this issue. We just had the most awful restaurant experience in a lot of recent years. They brought my child a bloody steak over medium well. Right now you are thinking "This sort of thing happens" right? We aren't even the type to complain so we continue with our meal and wait for it to be re-done. We nearly finish 3 adults and other child's entrees before the steak comes back. It's literally the exact same steak. It was cut in the same spot and still very rare. At this point my daughter is crying at the table. She was very much looking forward to her meal. The second part of this is that our server couldn't have cared less. She was utterly compassion-less. She offered to make it yet again. I asked for it to be taken off the bill. As we are rounding out this sad experience, a manager comes over. A beacon of hope. Nope. She was just as compassion-less as the server. No offer was made. They acted as if they were doing us a favor by removing it from the bill when that was all I could muster to ask for. Not a single bite of the steak nor fries were consumed. Oh I left out that the Sprites were brought w/o syrup. Pure soda water. My wife's mixed drink came after the entrees. The list goes on. To be honest, I am not sure what the solution here is. At least offer a free dessert? Offer a discount on the bill? Perhaps you can act like you care a little? The new pattern is to put the patron on the spot and ask what can be done to remedy the situation. It's a bit of tricky reverse psychology. It did take some time to get our to go order, BUT Texas Roadhouse made up for it because they gave me double the sides and also gave me rolls and butter I didn't order. I typically would see peanuts on the floor but they were going to seat us in a booth with a whole of napkins and crumbs on the floor. They were able to move us to another booth. I waited for a while for my plates and silverware to come. My knife was not cleaned and had some sticky film over it. This was the WROST experience I've ever had at a Texas Roadhouse. They were overly packed for one. They just placed a table in the middle of the crowded restaurant to seat us down. People kept bumping into our little table, & they almost dropped food on us. The waiter was rude and not good at his job. We order drinks first and an appetizer. When the drinks came out it was a fly in the drink. My food came out better the appetizer even though i order the appetizer 30 min before i order the food. On Sunday, I came and had dinner at the bar. I told the bartender that I needed the menu to place a to-go order. As I was reading the menu a different ( female) bartender took the menu as I was looking over it. She walked away with it and give it to a couple who walked up that she was very familiar with. I told her that I was still looking at that menu she throw the menu back on the table and continued serving the couple. I asked, to speak to the manager, although he came and spoke with me it was pointless. He only provided lip service. It was the typical management response " that is not how we do things here." " I will have a very strong conversation with her about that. " He looked down at my plate and asked. " is there anything I do do for you?" I told him no. He walked away. I really hate it when you're served your salad and the meal follows on top of the salad. Sure enough. That's what happened. So, the steaks sat while we finished the salads. My steak was ordered medium rare and it was medium well. Needless to say, back it went. By the time it was returned, I was the only one left eating as everyone else had finished. This was my second time at a Texas Roadhouse, the first time was for a bday ppty and basically the company was why I was there. This time was for Sunday dinner after a full day. Hubby ordered the rattlesnake bites. After trying Alligator bites and they were real alligator I assumed rattlesnake bites were real rattlesnake. My bad On to the 8 oz sirloin steak with steak fries and grilled shrimp. The shrimp were lightly grilled done to perfection the steak that should if been medium was very well done and dry. Too dry to chew not even sure why it was served. They fired another marinated steak, just the way I like. Accompanied by ceasar salad with dressing I dont k how what I was actually expecting from Texas Roadhouse but I prefer finishing butter on my steak. Made the mistake of coming here for dinner on a Saturday! It was superrrr busy. The rolls were cold & we were only given 4 & there was 6 of us. We got our salads but it took forever for us to get silverware, I had to ask another waiter bc we couldn't find ours. I ordered a burger & it seemed like it's been sitting out bc by the time I got it wasn't very warm. I probably will stick to the chicken if I come back. The food & service is usually a lot better. We've been to this location many times. The service is always great, though they can be very busy most of the time especially during dinner time and holidays, so expect a little bit of waiting here. The food portion is large, usually just one main steak entry with the sides and an order of appetizer are good enough for my wife and I.
