I love steak - I am not sure why it took me so long to try this place. Now that I have tried it, I will never go there again. This place is filthy!! I think I get what they are going for with the vibe - that hello ma'am, barn - country style - but that does not have to mean that it should be unkempt. I literally slipped on a mangled piece of bread as we walked to our table. As we got to the table, we were all walking on peanut shells. I had to get them off the bench to sit down. The bread stayed on the floor, next to our table until we left. Might still be there - who knows. I would let it go, if the food was good. We started with drinks - margarita has that chemical tasting mix added to it. We moved on to a Combo Appetizer - it tasted like those box appetizer mixes you buy frozen at Stop and Shop and pop into a toaster oven. On to the next - if I am at a steak house, I am going all out! I ordered a medium rare Porterhouse T - Bone steak. My brother had a rack of ribs, my mom went with Portobello Mushroom Chicken. As sides we all chose a loaded potato and Caesar salad - I recommend you forgo the deep fried, soaked in grease croutons on the Caesar salad. Ribs were okay, the chicken was bland - but worse of all was the steak. I was sooooo disappointed because I love me a good steak restaurant. It was dripping in grease, it was fatty and worst of all -is not cooked properly. It's almost a 30 dollar steak! Oh it was wicked bad. I couldn't finish it. I sent a review a couple of months ago and it has not appeared. My domestic partner and I visited the Cranston, RI, restaurant a couple of times each year. Our last visit was just that - our last. My partner and I each ordered steak tips his came out warm, mine cold. The next time the server stopped by to see how we liked our meals, I told her and she took my meal back. About 15 or so minutes later, she came back to check on us. My meal has not shown up. She ran to the kitchen and my dish arrived shortly thereafter. Cold again. I told her and ate some because I was hungry. I ate about one-third and told the server I wanted a box to take the rest home. The female manager came over and accused me of looking for a free meal. I was amazed. I asked for a box. When I disagreed with her allegation, she said she was tired of giving free meals and said that our appetizer was free. I showed her my coupon for a free appetizer and she told me that was all I was going to get. I just asked for a box to take home the leftovers. She was rule beyond relief. Of course, I gave the server a 20% tip; it was not her fault. However, I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, EVER. EVEN IF OFFERED A FREE MEAL. The manager was crass, stupid, and rude. my husband has always been a huge fan of Texas Roadhouse, and i'm becoming a convert. we've had great experiences at locations in MA in CT, and this one is no exception. we had dinner here last night (a busy Saturday around 7), and were pleased to find seats at the bar. that's always our preference, and i like the bar size at Texas Roadhouse- it's big enough that you're likely find a seat, but not so big that it's overwhelming. our go-to appetizer is the shrimp skewer, which was once again cooked to perfection. i got a house salad with bleu cheese, and for my entree, the smothered chicken with gravy, loaded mashed potatoes, and green beans. the house salad was a really good steakhouse salad, with lots of egg and cheese to top it; i'll add red onion next time. the bleu cheese dressing was good; lots of flavor, and not too chunky. now- i've never had anything i disliked from Texas Roadhouse, but i have to say- these green beans are THE. BEST. they are not vegetarian, but the flavor of the ham and bacon is incredible. i'm always taking leftovers home, but i eat every single morsel of those green beans. the white gravy had excellent flavor, nice and peppery. i honestly never made it to the chicken (leftovers!), but this is the second time i've gotten something "smothered" from Texas Roadhouse, and i love that the mushrooms are cut generously prior to cooking, so they don't cook down to nothing. really, i feel like everything is pretty generous. my husband loves their chili, and he's always very happy with it, especially since he hates sour cream, and it's not a standard topping for them. i had their house margarita and it was so. good. it wasn't too sweet, and it stayed frozen for our entire meal. service was friendly, per usual, and our food practically flew out of the kitchen. i don't know if, as a business, they just choose to spend more on their labor cost than other chains, and that's why they're always able to execute quickly, but we've never really waited for anything. ever. we love Texas Roadhouse, and this location is as consistent and good as any other we've been to. read more

I went to the Texas Roadhouse on Wednesday 6/12/19 this place is my mine and my wife's favorite place we come here at least 2 and sometimes 3 times a week until Wednesday when my wife found a dead bug on her broccoli. The server told us that she was gonna get the manager and when the manager came he said this doesn't happen all the time and he apologized. When he left the server came back with the bill and I was shocked to find on the bill was a bug discount was added to the bill. I feel that this meal should have been free because we did not eat the whole meal and maybe a gift card because we know most of the people there because of how frequently we eat there. My daughter and I have loved Texas Roadhouse in Cranston, RI, but had our first unhappy experience today. Our ribs were extremely dry -- perhaps yesterday's? To feel as though the ribs had barbecue sauce on them, we used our own home barbecue sauce from Kraft and our fridge. Generally, we are not picky eaters. This was a surprise. New chef? This doesn't mean we'll never go back. It's a place that has a great take-out system developed during Covid. Once you have taken a meal home, it is difficult to send it back. Who wants to drive back? Usually a favorite of ours but today, not so much. it was pretty empty for a Friday night. we waited over an hour and our steaks were all overcooked. we were offered no explanation, was the kitchen behind? short staffed? 10 servers standing around the entire time. the waitress never asked us to cut into the steaks. also we always have the manager come over but not tonight. poor service, unfriendly staff and crappy food. first time ever here. so disappointed. hope this was a one time glitch read more

As much as I like the Texas Roadhouse as a whole, I feel like this location slacks a bit. My boyfriend and I went last night for dinner (Friday 1/18/19) and though it was about the average business for about 7:30, we were seated fairly quickly. The waitress took a while to come over and ask what we wanted for drinks, which should've been the first clue to how the rest of the night was gonna go. Drinks came and she asked what we wanted for dinner, which felt kinda rushed in my opinion. And commend the longest wait ever. The food came after what felt like forever, and a while later the waitress asked how everything came out. Kind you, our appetizer was still on the table and she didn't ask if we wanted a box for it. My boyfriend asked for another drink and I asked for a water and it took a while for them to be delivered. Shame. When we were done eating, which was obvious, the waitress was nowhere to be found to ask for boxes. She finally came over and asked if we wanted anything else, and we just asked for boxes and the check. Another thing that took forever to get. It's like she was in a rush to get us out of there. Hmm. I don't know maybe she was having an off night. I am sure my boyfriend and I will be back but hopefully we don't get the same waitress. Probably the worst experience I've had at either location, ever. We had a party of 8 including 2 infants and a toddler. Called ahead an hour and 15 minutes prior, arrived and were told 10 minutes to wait. Just under an hour later we were seated. Kids cheese burgers came without cheese, and charred. One medium steak was cooked well, and everyone was done by the time a replacement arrived. Host staff and management made a lot of excuses why these issues happened....just seems like its not a tightly run ship in Cranston. The service was good, thats why you got two stars and not one. We were there just under 3 hours, thats really pushing it when you have 3 children under the age of 3 in the party. I think we will only be visiting the Warwick location going forward. read more

From the moment we sat at the bar to the moment we left, our dining experience was top notch. Everyone was polite, engaging, and attentive. It has been a very long time since I can say the service, food, and employees have gone above and beyond average expectations and we dine out often. We do not usually visit this location, but after last night this will be the ONLY one we frequent. Everything came out bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The mouthwatering filet was grilled from end to end with an outstanding warm pink center. We thoroughly enjoyed our company and every bite of food. They truly understood the assignment. read more

I was a bit disappointed when we came here last weekend. We have been to various other Texas Roadhouses' (Everett, North Darmouth, Nashua, NH, & Columbia, SC). I always had a great experience at those other locations, even on a Saturday night at 8 pm.... this time, not so great. We walk in and the hostess tells us the wait will be about 20 mins. Which isn't so bad. They have a nice big grassy lawn for the baby girl to play on. She was content with herself, and not causing a fuss. But the second they sat us it all started to go down hill. First off, no crayons and paper for the baby girl. What kind of family restaurant doesn't have crayons for the kids?! The waitress took forever to come to our table. When she finally came around for our drink order, our daughter was off the wall. I ordered her meal with our drinks. When her food came out she wasn't interested. So we ended up taking turns walking her around the restaurant. I had the Choice Cut, cooked medium with veggies and fries. My fiance had the Choice Cut as well (but he picked his from the case), veggies and mashed potatoes. And my brother ordered the Country Fried Chicken with fries and mashed potatoes (he doesn't do veggies). Well their meals came out excellent. Mine wasn't cooked the way I wanted it. It was more medium-well. I wasn't happy, but didn't want to send it back because the baby girl was in a bad mood. I love the Texas Roadhouse, but will not be going back to this location. Minus 2 stars because t was not the greatest experience we have had. I was not pleased with the service and I was not pleased with my meal. I was also pissed that they didn't have crayons for the kids there. I saw other kids getting antsy because they had nothing to do. Not to mention they have the weirdest hours. My friend and I happened to be in Rhode Island and saw the huge highway sign saying, "Texas Roadhouse, EXIT HERE!". I figured what the hay because I've never in my twenty odd years of living have never been to a TRH, and we were starving. Awesome: Barrel of free peanuts right in front of the door, nice door greeters, polite and fast hostess that showed us to the meat to see if we just wanted to choose a slab right then and there, and a clean walkway (though it would've been cool to see the peanut shells on the floor). Good: The potato skin appetizer with REAL bacon and REAL cheese. The shrimp skewer. I ordered the Ft. Worth Ribeye 10oz, and it was pretty good. In all honesty, I'm not a pro steak/bbq eater, but the meat was meat. I can tell you that it wasn't bad. I like how you can chose two sides with your meal, and I ordered fries and a salad. Bad: We never got straws until we asked for them. Our waitress never gave us a bucket of peanuts but did to all of her other tables in her section. Brought out their appetizers before ours, even though we came in a good 15-20 mins before them. Rushed us because she told us she was leaving her shift and wanted us to pay our bill before the next waiter came into her section. No I do not want dessert or an alcoholic drink anymore. Give me my box to take the rest of my food to go. I'll pay my bill after you leave and we'll leave your tip with the next guy and you can hope that he gives it to you. read more

Disclaimer - I am not really into chain restaurants like this at all, not big into BBQ and not really into county western. So we had two gift cards for this place that were over five years old. Yes, five. If you ask me where I want to eat Smoky Bones, Texas Roadhouse, etc aren't on the bottom of the list, they aren't even on the list. After a long day working out in the yard yesterday I just wanted a meal that I didn't have to cook and I didn't really care where I had it. This was the perfect opportunity to use those old gift certificates. Expectations were low going in. We walked in and it was moderately busy and were told we would have to wait for a table to be cleaned. Ok, there are a fair amount of empty tables. After a short wait our table was ready but first they have to ask us if we had ever been there before. Since we hadn't, we had to see the cold case with all of the steaks and were given the opportunity to pick our steak out. Ummmmm.... No thanks. I think I'd like to look at the menu first and actually see what you have to offer. We were seated with rolls with cinnamon butter, plates and no utensils. Someone else eventually came by with utensils. Our waitress came by and we got the full Roadhouse spiel. I ordered a skinny margarita that didn't knock my socks off, but was tasty. My husband ordered a draft beer. They had a decent selection. Our waitress came by to see if we wanted any appetizers. We ordered the buffalo tenders and at the last minute I added the fried pickles since I have never had them before. The waitress warned us they were salty and if we didn't like salty food we may not like them. We passed. When our appetizers came the waitress brought us a handful of the fried pickles just so we could try them. That was really nice of her. Yes, they were salty. The buffalo tenders were more like small chunks and were tasty, but also salty. For our meals, my husband ordered the lemon pepper salmon with corn and broccoli. He thought it was OK. I ordered the grilled shrimp which came with rice and then I ordered the Caeser salad and broccoli as my sides. I received two skewers of shrimp, five shrimp each, and they were tasty. A super salty lemon pepper sauce was on the side. The rice was standard rice-a-roni. The salad was good, but the broccoli would have benefited from a bit of seasoning. What I didn't like was the layer of grease at the bottom of our plates. When I got up this morning my hands were very swollen. I could barely get my rings on and they are normally loose. I have my suspicions that there was MSG in my food. If not there had to have been a crazy amount of salt. I brought home half of my food and I don't think I'll be eating it now. Our waitress, Heather, was fantastic! I can't rave enough about here. The manager also stopped by to make sure everything was OK. We have zero complaints about the service. Tonight's first impression- The service was awful!! Took forever to get drinks and even longer to get bread. Manger was walking around aimlessly and many servers took their time standing around chatting. We were sat in the bar area and watched the bartender have full out conversations with her friend instead of tend to the dirty bar. Kind of off putting- the reason why this was observed was because we were watching the tables around us get their orders well before us even though they sat at least 6 minutes after us. On to the good- the bread was warm and yummy when it finally arrived after we had to ask another waitress....The blooming onion was probably the best I've had here because it was completely cooked and crispy throughout. But...My medium steak arrived med well and charred but the food would of totally died if I waited for the waitress to check in. So I just ate it. The manager did come to the table at the end of the meal asked how great the meal was...presumptuous....I told her she said In a fake tone OMG so sorry!!! Grrrrrr... This experience probably drops this location out of rotation. Honestly if I was a secret shopper I would have been embarrassed to submit my review. I am least impressed that still at the end of my experience the bar was a total mess. Gross- shame on the managers for continuing to walk by the mess and not help. read more

The last two times there the service has been average at best. Do I blame the loud music for a reason why I got chicken & ribs combo instead of chicken and pulled pork? We got seated, and and no one came to our table to ask about drinks, appetizers, nothing for 40 mins. All the surrounding tables were being waited on multiple times. Snippy host , told us there would be a 10-20 minute wait for a table on a Tuesday night , it ended up being 20. We sat at the bar and ordered the mozzarella sticks for a starter while we waited, 10 minutes go by and the bartender asks us if we want to order anything else because they're out of marinara sauce, at this point I figured we'd just wait for our table. Bartender was very nice and gracious, a strong contrast to the host's snippyness. When we finally got seated they didn't bring any bread to our table, although I saw the same employee who seated us, sat another table 2 minutes later and gave them bread with the menus. Had to ask our server for bread. Server was ok, didn't go above and beyond. Food was okay , I ordered my steak well done but there was still a little pink in the center of some pieces ... on our way out we heard a commotion coming from what I can only assume to be the kitchen , some yelling and then I could hear a male voice yelling "get the f*** out of my kitchen" , at which point other staff members started to rush over out of curiosity , no staff member said have a good night or enjoy your evening. Its a pretty good place for a casual dinner out. I am limited with my vegetarian status but I do enjoyt he sweet rolls and their salads are really good. They are always chilled and they load them up with hard boiled egg and cheese and croutons...mmmm! I enjoy the salmon although it tends to be a bit more salty than it should. You have to try the sweet potato for a side- they will offer you marshmallow, cinnamon etc. but I prefer a teeny bit of butter just for some added flavor. The line dancing waitresses are not super impressive but I always threaten my friends that I will bring them there on their birthday and they will have to sit on a pseudo bronco (actually just a large mobile saddle) and the whole crew sings and dances to your special day. Highly embarassing and yet funny for the spectators. Other non-vegetarian dishes that my friends have enjoyed- country fried steak and prime rib. read more

Alright, Yelp friends, after several poor meals here, tonight's terrible meal and even worse service has pushed me over the edge and I will not be returning to this location. Tonight, we visited the Texas Roadhouse in Cranston to celebrate the high school graduation of a family friend (he really wanted to go there after we had a great meal at the Texas Roadhouse in South Burlington) and had a very disappointing experience. First, it was 9pm when we arrived, so the place was only half-full, which should equal good service. WRONG! Our server (Kaitlyn) only had two tables but took over five minutes to visit our table and get a drink order. Another five minutes later, our sodas and iced teas arrived. We placed our meal order and waited ten minutes and I had to ask before receiving my salad. However, the server didn't bring any bread to the table (as is customary when they first seat you), so I went to the front and grabbed some so the graduate and his family didn't have to watch me eat. Our meals arrived and I was very disappointed with the 12 oz rib eye as it was served "medium" although I ordered it "medium rare". One would think that if any restaurant could cook a steak to the right temperature it would be a steak restaurant - but for the third time at this location, I was proven wrong. Usually the server asks if the steak is cooked properly when it first arrives, but our lovely Kaitlyn didn't, nor did we get the usual manager visit so I had no opportunity to mention this. Besides having an over-cooked steak, I also found it to be very dry and chewy. It tasted like a low-quality sirloin and not a juicy rib eye. For my second side, I ordered a baked sweet potato. I had to laugh when it arrived with a huge spoonful of brown sugar dumped in the middle of the potato and without any butter on it or on the side! Unfortunately, my meal was not the only over-cooked one or poor tasting one. The burgers were over-cooked and a 14-year-old dining with us found his ribs to be chewy and gross - and it is usually difficult to disappoint a teenage boy with ribs!
