I would like to preface this review by stating that I waited tables for almost 10 years from the time I was 16 until I escaped the hospitality industry when I was 25. In a word this dining experience was "garbage-wrapped in a tortilla made of cow dung-deep fried in a vat of cat urine-smothered in sweat from that same cows testicles." Okay had to get that off my chest before I try to force myself to vomit it from my stomach and if I could leave less than one star I would. I travel every other week for work and I eat some really great meals on the road and a fair share of mediocre ones but I don't usually write a review unless the experience falls at the very, very end of that spectrum. In addition to that as an ex-waiter and bartender I tip 20-30% standard because I know that rarely does the server have any control over the quality of the food. After reading the reviews the biggest complaints I saw were the long wait for a table, which is in no way indicative of the quality of anything. In fact the longer the wait, typically represents higher demand for a quality product. Went in at 6:30 on a Thursday evening, went right to the bar, which had one other person eating and sat down. Ashley was the bartender and she made her way over after a couple minutes to ask "would you like an ice cold beer or a frozen margarita?" I ordered water and asked for a menu. I ordered the same thing I get every time I go to TR, 12 oz prime rib with raw horseradish, Caesar salad and loaded baked potato. Salad came in less than a minute in all its soggy lettuce glory just drowning in a kiddie pool of dressing. Might have told Ashley that it was sub-par, sadly I would soon realize that when Ashley took my order it would be the last time she uttered a single word my way. Prime rib came out and to say I was UNDERwhelmed would be an UNDERstatement smothered in UNDERwear. 12 oz prime rib consisted of at most 5 oz of edible meat and 7 ounces of gristle. Remember the Great Outdoors when John Candy was trying to finish "the old 96er" and it got down to the fatty edge and Dan Aykroyd had to force him to shovel that fat down to get the t-shirts, that fat looked more appetizing than my untouched prime rib. Baked potato looked like it had been rolled through Scarface's personal pile of salt with at least a half cup of cheddar cheese piled on top to try to possibly distract me from how unappetizing the potato itself was. The finishing touch was the RAW horseradish that I requested must have been entered into the computer as a side of horseradish soup, 1 part horseradish, 10 parts some weird clear liquid. Even at that point Ashley was still looking at a 20% tip believe it or not because like I said, I'm not a savage. By the time I got my food there were probably 4 or 5 more people at the bar but she was apparently too busy to ask "how is everything?" or "can I get you anything else?" or "why do look so disgusted at that crap plate in front of you?" NOTHING. Not a word, a glance or any indication that she gave more than 2 squirts of pee in a snow bank whether or not I was enjoying my dinner. Ate the 3 or 4 bites of prime rib that wasn't riddled with fat and moved my plate towards the bar. Obviously I had to move my salad plate that she hadn't bussed out of the way to move my dinner plate forward but I digress. Where I worked there were two things I did without exception to make my shift go more efficiently and hopefully walk out with a nice roll of cash at the end of the evening. 1) prebus my tables 2) the 2 minute check-back. If those are the unwritten cardinal rules of serving Ashley will likely spend much time in server hell or possibly purgatory. When she walked over I think she realized that she had performed the royal pooch screw and still DID NOT UTTER ONE WORD just handed me my bill. Gave her my card and she grabbed that and ran my card faster than Usain Bolt in the 100M and returned, dropped my card and receipt without even so much as a "have a nice night" or "thanks for coming in" or "hey you have a stupid looking face" NADA, ZERO, ZILCH. Which is exactly what she got as a tip. First time I've ever done that and honestly I don't feel the least bit bad about it. Sorry Ashley, but I really feel even more sorry for anyone else that has a similar experience at this place. At least the Black Bear Diner is still open, should have gone there to begin with. Sidenote to the management if your bartender can't keep herself out of the weeds on a Thursday with no wait in the lobby, get her some help or get her out from behind your bar. read more

The food is good but kind of standard fare. Nothing particularly stand out except the baked sweet potato with all the fixings. I think it is a good place to go for a good meal but not a great meal. I have to say I was kind of disappointed in the service it was ok, get you your food but nothing to go the extra service. example is I spilled my water glasses and it took the server several minutes to bring over an towel to clean it up as it was dripping everywhere. I finally saw a towel left on another table and i went over and graped it. As she brought over her towel over she just put it down and left. I had to clean it up and deal with the dishes I sweeped everything in. read more

After waiting 45+ min after being told the wait was 15 min we sat down to find out they are out of silverware and prime rib. It's Saturday I get it, it's busy... but this same thing happens every Saturday at this location. Poor management and wait staff are dumb as doorknobs. read more

Worst service I ever had...we had a party of 14 server was very overwhelmed never checked back with us forgot kids food passed food around because she couldn't remember who had what and when we asked to speak to the manager he was very nonchalant and waited a good 20 minutes to talk to us after we requested to talk to him....we will never go back to this location again.... read more

When I first came through the door the lady's in the front were very nice and welcoming, our server Ember was my favorite. She is so nice and I definitely love her. unfortunately the food was not great, the roles were amazing per usual. I asked for a 8oz sterloin steak with 2 sides, the sides were salad and fries, both good and the salad was my favorite. When I received my steak it looked delicious, when i cut into the corner it was hot pink, I asked for it to be cooked longer. I know how annoying it can be for someone not to like their food and send it back, but it was $20 and just not cooked!? Anyways when i got it back it had been about 10 minutes without it and i cut into it and it was not even close to done, no new burn marks. I did not end up eating it and I felt bad so I did not send it back, I wish i did. Anyways I over heard someone say they only get paid $4 an hour working there, if i'm buying a $20 meal and the restaurant is packed 24/7, Don't you think they should get $10 a hour ATLEAST. I feel so bad for the servers. raise the pay and take care of you're employees, they are what is keeping you're business open. read more

Usually this restaurant chain has excellent steaks and service. We ate at Pocatello's a few weeks ago. The cheese fries were cold and hard. I had to send my filet back to be cooked but it was too full of gristle to eat My sons shrimp were raw. Also, our waitress was pretty much absent. We were SO disappointed! Went there for the first time Sunday afternoon, the overall experience was very good. Clean restaurant and bathrooms, very attentive and friendly staff. The shrimp was good and large portion. We enjoyed the rolls and cinnamon butter. My chicken crispy salad was terrific. It was like a Cobb but w fried chicken. Yummy!!! Huge. Got it w dressing on side. So had enough for lunch and dinner the next day. It was a nice touch to have a bucket of peanuts on each table as a free appetizer. The bar had several TVs on with various sports which was a very nice distraction while waiting for meals. The only downside is the open layout which caused the restaurant to get extra noisy - coed softball or sports team came in and were having fun and the noise really carried. We were ther with a couple of friends and the 15 minute wait was no biggie. We were sat in the bar area and the bartender was our wiater. It took awhile for our drinks especially the refills. We were all empty by the time we got another drink. My wife ordered the salmon and it was not even half cooked. They brought it back out about 10 minutes later EXACTLY like it was on the plate.......semi eaten but mostly pulled apart. Even our waiter said ya thats way undercooked. Very rubbery and not worth a damn. Either they nuked it or put food someone already tasted back on the grill. Gross either way with NO DISCOUNT. First and last time I will eat there. Idaho Falls is GREAT but not here. My prime rib was also over cooked and way too salty. read more

When we have the budget to eat out, we go to Texas Roadhouse. We have always had excellent service. The employees are friendly, the service is fast. At one visit we ordered a steak cooked rare and it was a bit overdone. The manager talked to us personally and insisted on cooking another steak for us. We often eat during early-bird times (before 6 o'clock) and really appreciate the excellent food and value. read more

I was the first group in the door (3). With me was a teenager and my adult son. The entire restaurant was empty. Before I realized it since my youngest was in front he was seated in the bar area which I don't like to do while the kids are under age. He's old enough I suppose and just got in the seat when it was pointed out to him. I didn't like it but, choose to live with it. They waitress came up and set out the speech. High pitched voice, a bit of what I think Malibu Barbie would sound like. The greeting was scripted and spoken like it was. I mentioned to her "Well, you have that down pat." And smiled. Another bit of scripted speech right off the page came back and we ordered. I've been to Texas Roadhouses in Billings, Montana and West Virginia both great experiences. Wanted my 16 year old who loves steaks to experience it. We put our orders in and waited. Two of the sides were wrong and we told the food deliverer so (I hate that, I want my waitress there I'm tipping the wait person right?). The sides were corrected. Not once during our meal did the waitress return to refill drinks. She stood and spoke to what I figured were regulars. When she was flying by once we were able to grab her. We asked for refills just as we were finishing the meal. Seven minutes later they came. In the meantime, I'm watching 4 people at the hostess stand yucking it up. I asked for the check and it came right away. Every time the waitress came to the table all I got was a scripted speech. It was really grating. If it has to be that scripted why not just put a talking computer screen on the table? I hate to admit it I'm normally a 20% tipper for good service but not this time. I wrote some of my complaints on the back of the check (I had forgotten about the wrong food with the sides) and left a $1 tip. Every time I come here I order the same thing and I love it every time. The Ribeye and rib combo with a house salad and the cup of chili. Rare steak cooked perfectly. The ribs are nice but can be a bit dry. The salad is cold and fresh! And the chili is beautifully seasoned! It gets very loud sometimes and if you want to have a conversation with your companions you are out of luck! read more

Consistency of the food here is excellent. It will be what you ordered every time. The quality of the food is good. It's what you would expect of any decently well managed franchise. The property doesn't get upkeep and maintenance that I would expect of a 5 star rating. Broken and spalling concrete trip hazards by the front door and squeaky doors (like horror movie bad)... these are minor issues in relation to the overall experience and the food. read more

Absolutely amazing food. I ordered the steak and BBQ chicken....quite possibly the best BBQ I've ever had. We also ordered the rattlesnake bites as an appetizer. We've been to this restaurant many times, but the last two visits have been disappointing. The first time I had a complaint which I submitted online and I never heard a word from them. This last visit the ribs were badly over-cooked (charcoaled) and I asked the waitress for some more BBQ sauce "because these are badly over-cooked," (hint-hint), she did not take the hint and just brought back some BBQ sauce. Expected more for the price!! They had little to no wow factor. Only impressive thing was the waiter serving us! He was quick, personable, and seemed to enjoy his job. Last night my side (extremely salty steak fries) came without the main dish, the other two in our party did not get their sides at all, we had to ask for them. The food as always is fine as expected at a chain. I've been here many times with zero complaints but the experience tonight was so terrible I can't not write this review. Not only did it take the waitstaff thirty minutes to bring us waters but when my food finally arrived it was raw. The steak I ordered medium was rare if even that. When the manager Jason, came by to ask how our meal was we mentioned that my steak was under from where I ordered it. He promptly proceeded to tell me that my steak was medium rare and asked if I would like another steak but everyone was completely done with there meals and we didn't want to wait an additional 45 minutes for a refire on my steak. It was fine until he had to say again that my steak was barely under. The middle of this steak was COLD. What bothered me the most was the way in which I was talked back to by the MANAGER! It was the worst experience and ruined the entire meal for our entire group. I will never be eating at this establishment as long as the management treats there customers this way. read more

It's been a couple of years since my last visit to the Texas Roadhouse but it won't be long before I'm back. Excellent service and the food was even better. wow a lot of hate from the other reviews. The place is awesome minus the birthday crap (don't let them know its your birthday or you will end up looking like an ass clown) House salad is the bomb don't think you can find a place with better ranch. The prime rib is amazing! A few times they have been out of prime rib for the night. It makes you feel like you live in a third world country where you can't get prime rib.... Rolls are tasty and the sides are good. For what you get the price is great. As far as your options in this town if you want some good prime rib go here. One other thing one time the waitress brought the wrong steak they were very apologetic and fixed the issue quickly. read more
