Let me start off by saying I outgrew the whole steakhouse thing years ago. Between leveling up my own culinary game in the kitchen and raising a kid who can sear a steak Gordon Ramsay would tip his hat to (literally), I usually prefer to do steak at home. But tonight? Tonight, I was feeling a Forks Up! moment. So, with a spin of the Google Maps wheel, Texas Roadhouse it was. Plus, the ladies said their bodies were due for some iron, LOL. And let me tell you... this visit just might have brought the steakhouse back into the rotation. Between the food and the service, I was impressed and I'd 1000% come back, especially if I know Jessica and Smiley are on deck. The night started on the right note the moment Jessica greeted us. She was instantly down to have a little fun while we filmed some clips for the night and Smiley, the manager, was totally game too. I asked Jessica for the "most popular" and "least popular" appetizers. Most popular? You guessed it: the legendary Cactus Blossom. Least popular? The Rattlesnake Bites, which honestly, weren't bad at all, but probably not an encore performance for me. And we didn't even make it far before the heavenly combo of those warm rolls and cinnamon butter started shrinking our appetites anyway. Dangerous. Then came the feast -- steak, more steak, shrimp, ribs, salads, rice... a full-blown carnivorous celebration. Every single cut of meat came out perfectly cooked. And not "good-for-a-chain" perfect, I mean legit steakhouse quality. Texas Roadhouse showed out on this night, no question. Now, huge shoutout to my girl Jessica. Even if the food hadn't hit (which it did), I still would've walked out with a smile. Her energy, timing, and genuine hospitality are exactly what I wish more restaurants had. She made it feel like dinner at a friend's house where everything just clicks because the vibe is right. So major thanks to Smiley and the whole crew for a killer dinner and even better service. Can't wait to drop the video on socials -- and you already know who we're asking for when we come back!

This place is always packed. The tables are basically on top of each other. And the walkways through the middle of the restaurant are always filled with parties squeezing by those coming from the other side of the restaurant. Good food though.

This young man named Jeff gave us the best womanly advice on the planet, and was rizzing. Lovely service too.

Jayda gave some of the best service I've had at Texas Roadhouse. She was super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out right and on time. Even when the restaurant was busy, she kept checking in and had a great attitude the entire time. She made the whole experience way better. Definitely deserves recognition for how hard she works -- if you get Jayda as your server, you're in good hands!

Roach snacking on my daughter's dinner roll.

I hate giving bad reviews, but. . . My daughter had just gotten her drink and started eating a dinner roll when she screamed and begging for my son and I to move so she could get out the booth. She quietly told me that she had looked over and seen two roaches climbing on the wall next to her. As we got up, one of the roaches actually climbed onto the table and started eating her dinner roll. The waiter wasn't phased and seemed to shrug it off with "Oh, sorry." We won't be back.

Caesar Salad (there's more dressing than it looks like in this photo)

We all know Texas Roadhouse has the best bread. I shouldn't even need to say that. I went here with my mom last night and she's gluten free so I had the basket all to myself and I was fighting demons not to eat all 4 rolls (I had 3- they're that good). I always get the Dallas filet medium rare. I feel like the sizes vary a lot, so I usually just order the 6 oz and it'll often be bigger. With my steak I also always get the Caesar salad, which has a ton of dressing and I love that the croutons aren't rock hard like the croutons at some other places. They're crunchy but melt in your mouth. I tried the mac n cheese for the first time and the sauce was a little grainy but still tasted good. There is some inconsistency with how steaks are cooked. If something isn't cooked to your liking though, they have no problem cooking it more or bringing you a new one if it's too well-done. Our servers are always super nice and the service is always quick. I also feel like this location has a pretty short wait time compared to other locations I've been to. We went at 7:30 PM on a Thursday and only had to wait 10 minutes to be seated.

Rolls - too sweet, not my thing

I wish I could see what y'all see in those rolls! Either the bread was sweet or the butter spread that accompanied them. Either way, give me yeast rolls with regular butter and I'm in heaven...this, not so much! I went on a Wed or Thursday night after a flight and the wait was very minimal. The waitress I ended up with was very good and patient. I've been to TXR before but it's not my spot so I don't come often or regularly enough to be super familiar with their menu. I ended up ordering the ribs and 12 ounce ribeye with a baked potato and house salad. The ribs could have used some work, they were too fatty and the sauce could be better. Otherwise, I overall enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, towards the end of my meal, another employee came and sat across from me to roll silverware. I did see her name but forgot to write it down. I'm no prude but she clearly needs a reminder about appropriate topics to discuss when patrons are in earshot. She wasn't whispering at all, she actually talked pretty loud like she wanted other people to hear but I'd much rather not hear you and a male employee going back and forth on sexual topics. It was primarily her being loud and doing too much!

The menu is a QR code on the table. They have a large outside covered patio. Lots of TV's inside & outside. The salmon salad was very good. The salmon was cooked just right & very well seasoned. Nice size, generous amount of toppings (eggs, tomatoes, onions) such that I had toppings in every bite with my lettuce. The entire salad, dusted with a cajun seasoning, was a nice touch. Food was served in a metal plate with plasticware & plastic cups. (I'm sure the 'plastic' is helpful for managing the outside dining.) Chef Dee came out to check on us. She saw me taking a picture of my food & playfully said 'hey you gotta take a pic of the chef who created it'. Of course I took her pic!! Based on my salmon salad, I would definitely try other items on the menu if ever in the area again. Try them out. If you don't prefer a crowd, pop in for lunch.

First off, the outside as well as inside of the establishment is beautiful! When you walk in, the restaurant is beautifully decorated; it's a cross between a fast-food establishment and a restaurant dining-style. I believe another Yelper also mentioned that fact as well. One can order in two options: using the self-kiosk, or going to the counter where there is someone there to take your order. Having both options available is rather convenient. For my food, I got the Famous Meal #1: Italian Beef Sandwich. However, I came prepared: it was going to be personalized to be the perfect meal. FIRST: make it big ($2), then add sweet and hot peppers ($1.98), mozz cheese ($.89), and ordered slightly wet. For my sides, I opted for the large onion rings ($4.99), and in addition --- this is A LOT -- I got the famous Chocolate Cake Shake (additional $6.19). If you were going to get a normal meal, it would probably cost you about $14.57. Mine -- with all the add-ons? $26.88. Take that into consideration. How was the food? Portillo's is definitely the experience many Chicagoans have heaped about. The "dipped" Italian Beef Sandwich was generously portioned, and if I had anything to comment-on --- it would be adding more sweet + hot peppers to the sandwich. Besides that, everything else was spot-on. On to that famous milk-shake: if you're a first-timer DO IT. How does it taste? It honestly tastes like a "real" version of a frosty from Wendy's --- taste wise. At least we know what's in this milkshake: Ice Cream, Milk, and a slice of chocolate cake. It was thick, creamy, and hit the spot. All-in-all, I totally recommend Portillo's if there is a location near you! It's definitely an American institution and is worthy of the hype.

We approached the counter and placed our order then waited for our number to be called. The establishment is fairly large with brightly colored decor and table/booth seating options. She used quirky call outs for each order number which was a nice added touch to the experience! I ordered the Italian beef with melted cheese and it was delicious! The bread was nicely toasted, meat was juicy and flavorful and the cheese brought it all together! Highly recommend!

I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We will definitely be back to try some other delights because the menu is packed full of amazing looking dishes.

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I visited on a slow Saturday afternoon and used the walk-up window, where I had to knock repeatedly just to be acknowledged by staff who were clearly visible inside. I ordered a Kids Meal (slider, fries, soda), and the $7.03 price already felt steep for the size. The wait time was frustratingly long for such a simple order. After 10+ minutes, and after another couple who ordered after me had already received their food, I had to knock and wait again for roughly three minutes. Employees looked at me but willfully chose not to acknowledge me until I finally got attention. It was clear the staff had forgotten my order and there was no apology for the delay. When the food finally came, the portions were tiny: an anemic slider, maybe five waffle fries, and a small soda. The value for $7.03 was simply not there. While the facility looks great, the neglectful service and poor food value mean I won't be returning or recommending this location. Pros: Cool building, clean environment. Cons: Slow/neglectful service, poor food-to-price value, tiny portions.
