I really wanted to give Small Sliders a better rating. The concept is fantastic: the building made of shipping containers is cool, clean, and modern, and the simple menu (sliders, fries, drinks) is brilliant. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I visited on a slow Saturday afternoon and used the walk-up window, where I had to knock repeatedly just to be acknowledged by staff who were clearly visible inside. I ordered a Kids Meal (slider, fries, soda), and the $7.03 price already felt steep for the size. The wait time was frustratingly long for such a simple order. After 10+ minutes, and after another couple who ordered after me had already received their food, I had to knock and wait again for roughly three minutes. Employees looked at me but willfully chose not to acknowledge me until I finally got attention. It was clear the staff had forgotten my order and there was no apology for the delay. When the food finally came, the portions were tiny: an anemic slider, maybe five waffle fries, and a small soda. The value for $7.03 was simply not there. While the facility looks great, the neglectful service and poor food value mean I won't be returning or recommending this location. Pros: Cool building, clean environment. Cons: Slow/neglectful service, poor food-to-price value, tiny portions.

These little things were greasy as heck, but they were very very good. Better than White Castle and way bigger! Service was very friendly and I know they were just opening do I won't complain about the wait lol.

Late night hunger strikes and Smalls Sliders delivered! Not literally but their sliders are a perfect meal for something simple, quick, and still delicious. It was late and it was my first time so I panicked trying to figure out the menu which is really not complicated but being that it was late and I was hangry my brain made it complicated. Eukaury, the cashier, was so patient and understanding! She did her best to explain this simple menu and then suggested the single slider option and making it a biggie smalls because that's definitely where my eyes went... 90's girl's definitely want a BIGGIE SMALLS!!! Ended up with my one biggie smalls slider, fries (they only have 1 size of fries) and water. All for around $6 which is a steak and they 1 slider was enough to cure my hunger and it was really good! It could have used a few more pickle slices but overall I was impressed. Bread is not soggy or overpowered by the meat and cheese. Meat actually tastes like beef and the smauce (their signature sauce) is smaucing! Almost tastes like the Big Mac sauce but bigger chunks of pickles. The waffle fries were crispy and flavorful. I believe they have a breading to them which threw it off for me since I like a good plain potato fry but my husband devoured them. Overall, the cutest little fast food restaurant. No inside dining but a good outdoor dining area if you want to just sit and hang. Love the whole sliding theme. They even thank you for sliding through with great service! Definitely give these guys a try!

I have been seeing this place all over my IG for a couple of months, and was really really excited to see that one was opening right next to my house! They had an opening yesterday that I missed, but today was the day. Headed over for my lunch break not having done a ton of research on the burgers, menu and offerings, but we were gonna wing it! The place was pretty busy when I pulled up. There is a parking lot, it's a little small, however, there is still lots of areas to park along the road, which isn't a busy road, and you can walk on over. Sliders is a walk up place only that has outdoor seating. You place your order at the window, and the lineup is pretty simple, how many sliders do you want, 2, 3, 4 and then you can make it a combo with waffle fries and a drink. They also have shakes available, but I went with a soda for now! As I completed my order, Teresa repeated it, and asked me if I'd like anything additional, took my Apple Pay and away I went to wait! The seating areas is covered in some type of green turf, which made it feel like a backyard. They had some good music playing, and had fans as well outside, which initially I thought, oh it's going to be hot out here, but the fans made a nice cool breeze and the patio is shaded nicely. There is a drive thru option as well, which had two lanes, and they had staff out there taking orders as cars pulled in, so the line appeared to move quickly. I waited probably about 10 mins for my food, and then the bag was secured! Since there were lots of people waiting for food, I opted to eat my meal in the car so I could snag some rad photos as well! The packaging was cute and compact. I ordered two sliders and got a side of Smauce, which I would definitely recommend for fry dipping and extra slider dipping. Everything was hot! Which I love, and it was fresh as well. The buns were toasted and they were soft also. The slider has smauce, a pickle and cheese. You have the option to add bacon, but you can either add bacon to all the sliders in the combo, or order them individually if you want one with bacon and one without. The burger was seasoned nicely and I LOVED the pickle. My only area of improvement is add another pickle, bc it was good, and I wanted a bite of pickle with each bite. Next time I'll order extra! Also, the sliders come with one patty each, but you have the option to biggie it and add another patty to make it a double. The waffle fries were amazing as well. They were hot, crispy, and seasoned deliciously with some flava flav. They had a slight kick to it, think cajun seasoning, which I really loved dipping those in the smauce. Considering how close they are and the quick turnaround for lunch, I can easily see myself coming here often, bc I am burger lover! Excited for this corner with all the new restaurants popping up. Give em a go and enjoy!

I am so happy we finally came here after hearing all about it! My family and I came and we ordered two kids meals, two extra sauces on the side and one 4-slider meals since we knew that would be enough for 3 of us. The menu is very simple and easy to understand and the staff was very young and lively which made the experience even better. Luckily the weather was perfect! This never really happens in Texas since it is always hot but the weather Gods were in our favor which made our very first experience here superb. The establishment is more for drive-thru orders and the outside setting is more for a quick bite, the dinning section is small and well maintained. Our sliders were greasy, cheesy, and the seasoned fries were delicious! Best past is that our orders came out fast and did not have to wait long! Next time I come here I will most likely take it to go since I doubt I will ever get this lucky again sitting outside.

I first tried it in Lafayette Louisiana, instantly got hooked, I'm glad there are locations in Houston, great taste and a price to match. I recommend giving them a try.

Our group seemed to get a lot of looks from other customers, and at times it felt like we didn't really fit the typical crowd there. At one point a table nearby started loudly saying political phrases and making hand gestures, which made the environment feel uncomfortable. Another table even pointed toward our group and showed something on their phone to each other, which added to the awkward feeling. The restaurant itself was also very crowded with limited space between tables. At one point a child from another table kept bumping into me due to how tight everything was. Unfortunately the food didn't make up for the experience either. I ordered a burger that ended up being extremely greasy and lacking flavor to the point that I couldn't finish it. Overall it just wasn't a pleasant dining experience, and I personally wouldn't return.

I had not been to Goodson's in years--well over a decade at least. So when both my wife and…read moremother-in-law suggested we stop in for lunch, I didn't hesitate. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were good, but not quite enough to dethrone our longtime appetizer champion: Pecos' fried pickle chips. The prices were reasonable, so I decided to go full-bore and order the "Cowboy" Chicken Fried Steak, which was only a few dollars more than the "Cowgirl" version. Mom chose the Chicken Fried Chicken, while my wife went with the Pot Roast. When our food arrived, I was genuinely taken aback. My chicken fried steak was larger than the plate it was served on--seriously, it was that big. The side dishes were equally generous. After bringing the leftovers home, I managed to get two more meals and a sandwich out of that steak. Likewise, both of my ladies left with take-home boxes, and that NEVER happens with Mom. She typically treats these lunch outings as her main meal of the day, but even she waved the white flag. So why not a five-star review? The answer comes down to flavor. While the portions were enormous, the service was excellent, and the prices were more than fair, the seasoning seemed a little timid. Across the board, the food could have used a bit more punch and personality. Nothing was bad--it just never quite crossed into memorable territory. That said, I would absolutely recommend Goodson's, especially if you have family or friends visiting from out of state. It showcases two classic Texas traits: HUGE portions and good value. As for the mild seasoning? If your guests are from up North, they'll probably feel right at home.

You can choose to sit either inside or outside. We went with the Houston Restaurant week menu which features some of their most popular dishes. For the appetizer, we tried the sautéed calamari and gumbo. The calamari had a nice creamy garlic sauce which paired well the sautéed bell pepper, onions, and tender calamari. Their gumbo is solid, not too spicy and had nicely cooked rice and a mix of toppings. The rice had a good bite and absorbed the flavor from the gumbo well. I would recommend the sautéed calamari. For entrees, we ordered the wild caught king clip and steak Diane. The very buttery king clip comes with sautéed spinach and is basted in a creamy, slightly lemony sauce which compliments both elements of the dish. The kingclip is garnished with micro greens and comes with an extra lemon for additional acidity, but I felt that it wasn't needed. The steak Diane had a medium cook and was soooo tender to the bite. I would recommend both, but partial towards the king clip if you want to try something unique! Lastly for dessert, I ordered the passion fruit crème brûlée which had such a unique flavor profile! The tartness of the passion fruit goes surprisingly well with the warm vanilla custard. The texture of the creme brûlée toasted sugar top was perfect as well and added a really nice crunch to every bite. My friend ordered their sticky toffee pudding, which was arguably the best one I've had yet. The toffee syrup is incredibly rich and adds a nice caramelized flavor to the ice cream and moist cake base. It's garnished with bits of sugary crumble and fruit. You really can't go wrong with either, but if I had to pick, their sticky toffee pudding is a must try. All in all, such a fun and intimate dining experience!

We were seated in a booth that felt quite cramped for a business meeting. Next time, we'd likely request a more open, well-lit table. We ordered several dishes, but the Chilean sea bass was disappointing. It was dry, lacked the buttery texture it's known for, and was quite bland. We also requested a side of hot sauce, but that request was overlooked. To end the meal, we planned to order coffee and toffee instead of dessert. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, we were told the coffee machine had broken. Unfortunately, by then the server seemed eager to wrap things up and didn't really give us the opportunity to consider any other after-meal options. Overall, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and we can see why it's popular, but the food execution and service fell short of our expectations, especially for a business lunch. We hope these issues were just an off day, as we'd like to give it another chance.
