[[HIGHLIGHT]]I love the Texas decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a spacious dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking was also very easy since it's in a private lot shared with other businesses. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The kiddos had a great time running around Jungle Castle next door, and then eating brunch right after.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had enough high chairs to accommodate our three toddlers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came in around 11am; and were provided both a breakfast and lunch menu. The portions were generous and price was affordable. I enjoyed my classic benedict. My son enjoyed the fries that were super crunchy. The side of fruits could use a little more strawberries. Everyone was chowing down without any issues. We appreciate that they were able to split the group bill readily. I'll drop a few suggested improvements. I called around 7:30am to make a reservation for a party of 8. When we arrived at the reserved time, they seemed surprise to see us and had to quickly assemble the tables/chairs together - luckily there were plenty of room to make a quick last minute arrangement. My friend and I also ordered a side of fries, but instead received double fruits as our sides. Overall, this place is a great restaurant to dine in and have a hearty meal. I'll be back if I'm around the area again.

Came by for breakfast again... 7x now since they opened. Ordered AARON'S BURRITO, Jumbo flour tortilla stuffed with two eggs, three veggies of your choice and two meats. Served with one lunch side. Burrito was really big and surprisingly not as dry as most burritos can be depending on how you cook it. It was very tasty. I'd order it again. As well as, Harvest Omelet. Everything was freshly made. Waitress came by multiple times to check on us and refill our drinks.

When you are looking for a great Texas breakfast or lunch, this is the place. I've been here twice and gotten the Harvest Omelette each time - hold the tomatoes and slap down some jalapeños. The omelettes have been impressive- both in quantity and quality. The sides are also delicious. The service is good and the coffee is hot! [[HIGHLIGHT]]And you can take your picture on a throne in the corner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't ask me why it's there - but sometimes you just have to taken advantage of life's unexpected opportunities.

Service was very slow from the start. When I arrived, there was a customer ahead of me waiting to order takeout. From his expression, he was waiting for a while. After several minutes, a waitress finally came to the front to take his order and sit me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Initially, she wanted to sit me at a small table closest to the front. Due to the cold, windy morning, I requested to be seated elsewhere. I was okay being seated at the far corner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It took sometime to get my coffee. That allowed me to leisurely browse the menu. Because coffee was bolder than what other restaurants serve, it had more flavor. There were grinds on the bottom of the cup. As expected, I did not get a refill until my food was served. I ended up ordering a classic waffle. In the past, an order of a waffle would be served with butter and syrup. This waffle was served only with syrup. I did not expect maple syrup, but the concoction had an unappealing sticky look. The waffle itself was light, fluffy and very fulfilling. Being served with two eggs and sausage patties was too much food. Unlike their pancake combos, there was no option to get only one egg and patty.

I can't believe this hidden gem was right around the corner! The service was exceptional, the pumpkin caramel and butter pecan lattes were amazing (thank you, Kaitlin), the food was amazing, and the prices were very reasonable. I ordered the Western omelet with grits - some of the best grits I've ever eaten, which is saying a lot for a Southern girl. My husband had the Wagon Wheel and there are no words to describe how good that cinnamon roll was. We will definitely be back!

Stopped in for breakfast around 9:30 am on a weekday. Wasn't very crowded and the service was much better than what I've read in other reviews. Very prompt and attentive. I had the basic scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast breakfast. The quality of the food was good and the quantity was what I expected. Price for the meal, coffee and tip was $20, which I guess is normal these days. I'll be back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It's more of a friendly, chatty place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All young servers that are college kids and family, and that's okay cuz now we know. But being really hungry and going in and watching people pass you and stand around and chat was a little Annoying our first visit. I have to say this is one of the best places to eat. The food is amazing. They serve breakfast all day too. They have a great menu with lots of home cooking. Something we don't see much of in Flower Mound. They are now open at night also. The service is fantastic and the ambiance is definitely cowboy style like an old log cabin. Reasonably priced also. The food here is home cooked, well-portioned, and reasonable in price. Everything is made from scratch and the quality shows! Try their pancakes, biscuits, and country fried steak - it's all great! We haven't found anything we don't like. It's a family owned business that seems to really care about serving the best products possible. I only wish they were open for dinner on weeknights! read more

This place took forever to get our food out- we were here for an hour with no warning that it would take a long time. When our food came out they sides were missing, the oatmeal was soggy, and no too mention our waiter didn't remember what we ordered. I know this place is new- hiccups are to be unexpected, but it was very unprofessional. Do they have one chef??? Also, this place is so so so hot I almost past out due to heat exhaustion. Do better. Brand new business....great food, huge helpings, and friendly service. Give them a try and support a small business!! We ordered the chiliquiles, the migas, and the chocolate pancakes. We are always hesitant to order Mexican food because we are from the border and we know what it's supposed to taste like! This was authentic, and the salsa was freshly made and delicious. We ordered omelets. The meat ingredients were OBVIOUSLY left over from previous meals...only reheated to be reused in our meal. We specifically ordered the omelet with hash browns ...it came with none!!!!! Service was slow and our waitress couldn't count back change for cash. It stinks when one tries a new place and is totally disappointed! Won't go back again!!!! read more

The place has a dated look and smells like it's very old when you walk in. The food tasted and looked less than average and our server was just ok. I wouldn't recommend this place as the food was overpriced for the quality we got. read more

My wife and I tried this place for brunch and had enjoyed it. I got the biscuits with sausage gravy which was good and my wife got the Denton club which was excellent. Will definitely go back. There were no issues with the restaurant being too hot or looking or smelling bad like other reviewers said. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. The waiter was overly chatty with us about topics we didn't particularly care about, but other than that it was a great experience. read more

My husband and I went for breakfast around 11 am today. There was a group of 10 and a few other people in the restaurant. A church group of 14 arrived just after we sat down. We ordered fairly quickly, but waited and waited. The first group got their food and still we waited. We had been there for 45 minutes and had to ask another waitress for refills of water and tea. We asked how much longer and she said it should not be much longer. Other tables that ordered after us got their food. We told our waitress we needed our food or we needed to go because we had reservations at 1 pm. Finally at 1220 our food came out. My husband enjoyed his omelette. I had eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy were very good. I ate two bites of eggs and they both had egg shells in them so I did not eat the rest. I had yogurt parfait which was nice, but overall my meal was disappointing since the eggs were inedible. We did not tell anyone because we were rushing to finish and get going. we left at 1235. So we were there an hour and a half to have breakfast. We will not be returning. read more

April 2 2023 - Thought I would try this place out for breakfast as I never even knew it existed until the day before... Checked the reviews, hot and cold. First off, the service. Seated promptly by a cordial hostess. Wasn't too long before the waitress came by to get my drink order, which was returned pretty quick. I was still looking over the menu and asked for more time, and she gave me more than enough to decide what to order. I ordered the "Collin" (wanted a waffle but didn't see that on the menu). Food came quick enough (not slow) and all looked good. The pancake was huge, hash browns and meats were all reasonable portions. bacon was big with very little fat, sausage was good and the ham was good with very little fat as well. The hash browns were hot and lightly seasoned, I liked them. Everything tasted great, not a single complaint, well actually, the butter was hard and I don't like that, but that's a personal problem. So why not 5 stars? Those are hard to give. There may be a fine line between being "rushed" by the wait staff or them being "slow". Maybe that depends on whether you are there to eat and socialize with others or if you want to get in and out quickly. I'll put it this way, I was not rushed in any way, but didn't have to wait so long to become annoyed. All in all I thought the place was great, both the food and the waitress. Such a great new spot in Flower Mound!! The atmosphere is perfect and very "Texan." The staff is incredible!! They are very attentive, kind, and hard working. The iced coffee is a MUST!! I'm not sure what they do, but it is magical. I have been there 3 times now, and have gotten something different each time. It has been 10/10 on flavor every time! The portions are also massive for a very reasonable price. Definitely check this place out and support this sweet family! read more

Ok my family has gone here once a week since they opened. Food is great. Service has been a problem. Every time we go there is a problem. Some of the waiters do not want to be there. I would not either if i had to explain why half the menu is never available. This is a breakfast place that does not serve coffee. They have whole coffee bar and menu but is is not available to order. We thought this was a fluke or maybe because they just opened. But no. They have been open for months. Run out of food all the time and certain things are just never available to order. Crepes not always available. Giant coffee maker that has been broke, no there knows how to use it, they just have it off and it would take 10 min to warm up. I know its hard right know finding people that want to work but... you have to or you will lose customers. When my family of 4 come in it is $70 plus tip. It will be a long while before we try them again. read more

Fresh squeezed orange juice was fabulous. the portions are great so don't worry if it's one pancake and one egg cause the pancake is enormous. i recommend the WAGON. comes with a grilled cinnamon roll, it was great. it's tucked in the corner by chilies. read more

Folks, I don't understand why YELP is removing the 5-star ratings that this cafe constantly gets...only leaving the BAD/Lower ratings. YELP must think that this place is PAYING their customers for the ratings...whatever happened to "folks actually being honest"? I guess YELP thinks that because a member here might post a rating or two; that that doesn't constitute a REAL rating? WTF? Seriously Folks...get down there. you'll be glad you did. YELP...get with the program and leave ALL THE RATINGS. This is a mom and pop start off breakfast and lunch cafe. These are good, humble folks. The food is great, the portions are very generous...don't be fooled by the low ratings...just a couple of bad apples that expect the moon on a silver platter... folks form your own opinion...don't be sheep; think for yourselves and come on down. Everyone had a pleasant "how can I help you?" demeanor. Selection: 4/5; some farm raised, some fresh. My only catch would be determining a way to offer at least one or two more fresh water options. Food quality: 4.5/5. My dish was delicious but the dirty rice, as reported by one of the people in my party, had a strange aftertaste. Wife loved the options! Portion size: the standout for this one was the generous kids portion for my son's fish sticks and rice. My portion could've been an ounce or two larger. Big pro: Plenty of options for someone who is on a gluten free or restricted diet. Would I go back: 100% Despite a couple of marks that were just shy of a "5", I'm rating it with 5 stars based on consistency in experience and quality of food.

Parking is free and spaces are abundant in both the hotel's lot and the nearby parking garage. The lobby and lounge areas are clean and inviting, decorated in soothing earth tones with modern furnishings. There is also a massive ballroom, ideal for weddings or business functions (I'm unsure of the exact capacity though). Full disclosure - I have NOT stayed in any of their rooms. I have only come here to attend special events. Therefore, I can only speak about those experiences which include the food, drinks and the serving crew. The food they provide is tasty although not particularly fancy or gourmet. It's about what you'd expect from a casual 3.5 star restaurant. The servers are good about keeping the containers topped up so everything is fresh and hot. They also waste no time clearing away empty/dirty dishes. I had to purchase my own drinks from the small hotel bar since alcohol was not included in the banquets I attended. While the selection is limited at least some basics are available. Of course nothing is cheap! If you aren't attending a catered event here, there are far better options to get food and drinks by venturing out to one of the nearby restaurants. Several are even within walking distance.

I tried to dine at Texas Star Cafe in Flower Mound, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, the service was lackluster. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, making it difficult to place my order. Additionally, the wait time for the food was excessively long, and it never arrived. After 45 minutes we left. The waitress said Doordash orders took priority over patrons that came to dine in. What a breath of fresh air. There was no wait for a table, even on a Sunday! clean and bright and spacious dining room tastefully decorated. The menu offered something for everyone including our most picky eaters. The order was out in a timely manner and was fresh and delicious. The service staff was kind and extremely attentive. I was coming here for breakfast with my family and it was full of children. We don't usually dine-in because of them but the staff didn't mind and were very friendly to all of us. The food was delicious but the sides were in small portions. Even so, it made the whole dish better giving it most of the focus on the main dish. I would recommend coming here with family. read more

If you like breakfast/lunch food, and you dont want to cook it.....Just go. Its clean. The staff is friendly. They have a coffee bar. (My personal favorite reason!) Bathrooms are nice. They have an excellent menu!!!!! Food portions are HUGE. Price is right. Every time we've been it has a decent crowd and everyone seems pleased. read more
