I am a very regular customer. I come in several times a month during lunch. It is one of my favorite places to eat because the food is always amazing. The waitress is ALWAYS incredibly hard working and wonderful. She knows my order by hear. I was very disappointed this visit to see how the manager/cashier was yelling at her and treating her so rude. It was very unnecessary and very unprofessional with a restaurant full of customers. After a gruelling 8 mile trek across the snake infested treacherous terrain of Corrales's outer lost canals...we sat down mid afternoon for respite and nourishment. We were not disappointed..slurping down ice cold Sapporo for me and Vino for my most valued lady companion Miss. L.B. Croft.....we shared a delicious moist Pollo Satay and Vegetable Pineapple Fried Rice. The food was bursting with explosions of juicy pineapple and wonderful sautéed vegetables. Ate here yesterday. Lunch hour was busy, with only 1 waitress and 2 helpers, so it took a while to put in our order. Got the egg roll appetizer and loved them-crispy, tasty and hot. We both got the Masaman Curry w/chicken. If you love green chile like we do, I highly recommend getting the "hot" option-just hot enough for our taste. The curry had lots of chicken and peanuts, and BIG chunks of potato, onion and tomato. We each had leftovers. Stopped in for lunch. The weather was great so we sat outside. We ordered the Tom Kah soup as a starter, the favor was excellent. My husband ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken, the flavor was amazing. I stole a few bites. I may get it the next time we go. I ordered the Yellow curry with tofu, Mild on the space. It was good and actually mild I have gotten Thai food before that is either so bland you can't taste anything or so hot your like this can't be medium. The portion sizes are good and I have left overs for tomorrow or maybe tonight. Service was fast and friendly, our food was ready quickly. So no idea where to eat - hit the "surprise me"' button and luck of the draw brought us here. What should have been the end of the lunch rush wasn't. Place our order at the counter - Green Curry(didn't know there was such a thing) moderate heat with beef & the Peanut Curry moderate heat with Chicken with a Thai Tea. The food was delicious and beef tender. The green curry was more mild than red or yellow and the heat level was just right. The Peanut Curry was excellent, the heat was just right, not too spicy. The chicken was tender and we had plenty to take home. As for the Thai Tea - it was made without being overly sweet and had a nice smooth flavor. The best you'll find! The food, the prices, the service - Thai Kitchen is ALWAYS excellent! I love the Pad Thai or the Chicken LoMein or the Cashew Chicken and my husband loves the Jungle Noodle - he says it's the best meal he's had, anywhere! Really, everything we've tried has been good, I don't think you can go wrong with whatever food choice you make including the appetizers and dessert. The only issue you might have is a little bit of a wait or a busy phone. The wait staff is on it - our drinks are never empty, our food is always hot and fresh and the quality is so good! Something you rarely see in a business is the owner/manager jumping in to do whatever is needed and here, you see them everywhere! Had been awhile since our last visit but our most recent lunch was delicious. We had chicken satay...one of my favs, chicken yellow curry and peanut curry. Honestly with all my oversea visits and foods... curry's are my favorites. My wife did the yellow which is not too spicy and was perfect so I was a happy camper. Service was very good. A bit of a change up from our last visit where you review the menu, place your order at the front desk, pay and then given a number and seated. Wait staff was prompt and courteous and ensured our meal was to our expectations which it was. We hit the restaurant just as they opened for dinner so there was really wasn't anyone there ahead of us but clients were in right behind us. so...if you're in and up for Thai...this is a great place. This is in my top 3 Thai around the city :) My most recent visit included Pad Thai (hot) to go, and it was just the sidekick I needed for my Netflix binge of The Good Place (talk about comfort food...and really warms the bones on a chilly rainy gloomy day such as this). The food is VERY inauthentic and there were some truly bizarre choices in how the food was made, what ingredients is had, and what sauces it was served with. To confuse things even further, their menu is loaded with Japanese/Korean/Vietnamese items as well, which is a serious head-scratcher for a place with Thai in the name. As someone who grew up eating real Thai food in Asia (including in Thailand), I can't recommend this place. There are much better Thai places in Rio Rancho and ABQ where you can get much more authentic food for more affordable prices to boot. We had been waiting to try this place after one time we walked in a few months ago and there was a line when we walked in and we couldn't figure out if it was people waiting to pick up their orders or waiting to order or waiting to get a table and we weren't told anything or greeted. We decided to give it a try as we both had exhausting days and our favorite sushi place was closed. We were told that we would need to order and pay beforehand and they would bring us our food. So we took menus to a booth and decided what to order. We are still somewhat new to Thai dishes so he ordered something with pork and I ordered the massaman curry with chicken and an appetizer of the shrimp spring rolls and two glasses of wine. He came back and a waiter gave us 2 glasses of water and the woman up at the front brought our glasses of wine soon after. About 5 to 10 minutes after a waitress brought us, what we thought were our meals. She said something which possibly sounded like what he ordered and I knew I had chicken but couldn't remember what it was called as I didn't have the menu in front of me so as he brought the menu back when he ordered. We thought, wow, that was pretty quick and we hadn't gotten our appetizer but whatever. We were exhausted from work and I knew I had chicken and I had told her that he had ordered pork. She left immediately after dropping off the food in front of us so we figured it was right. Then my husband notices that they are dropping off the spring rolls at another table but they say they didn't order them. And so my husband tries to flag her down that we ordered spring rolls. Then she realizes that she had dropped off the wrong meals at our table. She goes to pick them up from our table but sees that we already started eating what was placed in front of us. Then she is NOT happy and as she is in the kitchen we hear her complain multiple times that we already started eating the food and she's going to have to pay for it out of her own pocket. My question is why are WE being made to feel guilty that we started to eat the food that was placed in front of us that was their mistake. I'm not going out to sit down for a meal where you have to pay for the meal beforehand and include the tip (if you're using card) even BEFORE you have been served and then be treated like a child. The other sad thing about this place is the food was good but the treatment was inexcusable. read more

Business lunch with company President. He recommended this location as it's a favorite of his and that it has a quiet, peaceful setting. Very quaint, limited indoors seating but they do have an outdoor patio. We were greeted by the friendly hostess as we entered which is nice and seated immediately. The hostess allowed us to pick our own table which is very nice, almost unheard of these days. Our waitress introduced herself and took our drink order of water and green tee which was brought out to our table within a minute. Excellent! Their menu selection is very large, well laid out, and easy to choose from. Prices were very reasonable (lunch menu). I chose a chicken noodle lunch with hot sauce. Excellent! Not too hot but they do offer an extra-hot. Spicy, excellent presentation, preparation, and was brought out to our table in under 7-minutes. Remember, it was peak lunch hour. My only negative critique would be the small serving portion and the lack of chicken included with my plate. Otherwise, I would have rated it a Five Star. Didn't have time to check out the bathroom facility, entire seating area which is rather small. Servers seemed friendly, helpful, pleasant. Definitely will go back a second time. read more

This is a recent discovery for me. I love Oriental food and especially Thai food. My wife went there first with a friend. She loved it and suggested that we go, so went their for lunch. WOW, is this place fantastic! The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a chicken Satay as an appetizer. It was great! In fact, I think I could eat just this. But then came the main course. :) For the main course my wife had green curry and I had shrimp Pad Thai. My shrimp Pad Thai is the best Pad Thai I've ever had. This is truly a place to return to. We just got home from vacation and didn't feel like cooking. We had some delicious Thai food while out of town and wanted more. So, we picked Thai Kitchen since it's close to home. This was our fist time here. My husband had the pad Thai and I had the Tom Kah 10.50 and my husband had the Pad Thai with beef 10.50. The food was very delicious, both dishes were flavorful and fresh. My only critique was the portion size. My husbands pad Thai was VERY small, especially for 10.50. For this reason, I give 4 stars and will most likely continue my search for a favorite Thai restaurant. read more

Top it off... The more I come to this place the closer it is becoming my favorite restaurant, period. The staff is always friendly and happy to make you feel welcome. Service is always fast and attentive, and as they entertain your order directly to a tablet your food come out quick and hot. Don't forget to put some thought into how spicy you want your food. I like the heat but sometimes "hot" is a little too hot for even me. They have a limited bar and lots of atmosphere. I can not recommend the spicy jungle noodles enough, they could very well be my favorite dish in all of Albuquerque. Give them a try, I promise you will be back. read more

I have been eating at Thai Kitchen once a month for the last three years, with my white women friend. I am white. We often have had this particular waitress who has always been nice to us, and I always tip her 20% at lunchtime. Yesterday I went in there, on a Friday, Valentine's Day, with my husband, who is non-white, at 2:35 p.m. This waitress took a long time to seat us, took another couple's order before ours, served them while we sat there, we finally got our food and half-way through our meal she came up and told us we needed to "pay right away" because the cashier was closing (they 'close' from 3-to-4:30 between lunch and dinner) "but I won't throw you out" -- while there were two other full tables of diners. The food taste left and turned to mud. Then, saying as she walks by us, but to the table behind us, "can I get you anything else," brings them a drink refill, walks by us again, while my glass was empty and placed where she would see it. I can't say I have often had this experience in Albuquerque. I would ask others to boycott this restaurant, if Thai Kitchen thinks this is an acceptable way to treat people. Bad service trumps everything else. read more
