Crab pad thai
Didi N.

I hold Thai Lovers near and dear to my heart because I've been going here ever since I was a kid. It's located in the food court area of Grand Century and they offer some seating, though it's mainly a takeout place. Pre-COVID, they used to give out free Thai tea and soup but not anymore :( The service is always quick and to-the-point, but friendly. I give this place 5 stars solely for their crab pad Thai. Their crab pad Thai is so freaking delicious and their servings are huge. For around $16, I can stretch out a portion of crab pad Thai into 3 meals (I add extra bean sprouts or cabbage at home for veggies). I've always wanted to try new things here but I always gravitated towards the crab pad Thai. My boyfriend got the pad see ew and it was good and solid but nothing mind blowing.

The best food in the world I would come here a million times a week if I could. I do miss when the Thai tea was free but inflation I guess

The Grand Century Mall has been hit hard by Covid, as many businesses have succumbed and gone out of business. I am glad to see Thai Lovers still around and making great tasting and affordable Thai food! They are mostly a takeout place, but they do have a few tables to sit at.

I can't count the amount of times I drove to Grand Century/ Vietnam Town just to grab Thai Lover. They are located in the food court of Grand Century ( go through the main entrance, make a left to go to the food court, and they're the first one). I would say the have the BEST CRAB PAD THAI. (I have also tried their vegetarian pad thai and their shrimp pad thai. I love them both). The cashier was friendly and nice. She warned me about getting the Pad Thai spicy... their spicy level got me sweaty! Good thing I got a thai tea to wash down the heat (and it was only $4!!)

House special fried rice with pineapple
Gina O.

I wanted to try a new Thai restaurant and found this place nearby. It is located in an indoor plaza and I ordered the house special fried rice with pineapple which tasted savory and had a sweet aftertaste with the pineapple! The cucumber slices were refreshing and were a nice touch. They have so many options to choose from so it was hard for me to decide. I am a visual person and the menu was located on the walls with a bright yellow background which made it difficult to see what the food looked like. The photo on the wall and the food that I received looked different but it tasted good! I just think it would be nice if they updated the photo quality. I went here after a hike on 4th of July so many of the other stores were closed and it was very quiet. The service was nice and pleasant and the ambiance was causal.

Pad thai and crispy egg noodle
Mary N.

Got the pad Thai and crispy egg noodle stir fry. The pad Thai portion this day seemed a bit off. Too much beans sprouts, but the pad Thai here always hits the spot. The crispy egg noodle with stir fry is good if eaten immediately. After a while, the noodles get soggy and soaked in the sauce, so it's a bit salty. The service was really fast and the were really friendly! The food court area is a bit loud if you go on a weekend, but on a week day, grand century is pretty quiet. I heard the crab fried rice is also really good and will be coming back for it!

Nice folks and service was fast. Wanted to just walk around on a Sunday afternoon and craving some thai food. I got the 10. Bangkok noodles with beef. First time trying it and i hope it's good. They got two tables and plenty nearby to sit and eat. It's like a food court style plaza.

Mango Sticky Rice

I only tried mango sticky rice from here, I cannot comment a lot on the rest of the food. Mango sticky rice was good, just wished it had extra coconut cream, portion was big enough. It took around 15 minutes to get the dessert. Prices are ok. The place is a little hidden inside the mall, so just look for the open table area.

Vermicelli with grilled pork and egg rolls

Delicious and generous portions. Papaya salad was a little bit on the sweet side but I prefer the Lao (saltier) version. They definitely followed the extra spicy instructions. Deep fried tofu dish - my first time to try and I did like. The texture is a bit weird in its crunchy but the tofu gives a watery bite at the end. Plum sauce was tasty - tangy and sweet - I added extra chili which really popped the flavor. Pad se eww another hit. The beef was tender and the noodles not too soggy or sticky but just right. The broccoli pieces were a bit big. Vermicelli plate - great portions. Pork was flavorful. A little too generous on the peanuts I would probably would have requested on the side If I'd known. Another great thing is they packaged the sauces very well - double bagging which I do appreciate.

This place is inside the mall at the food court area. The service here is great and they are so friendly. I ordered my food to go. I tried the pad see ewe, game hen, crab friend rice and basil chicken. The pad see ewe was decent. It lacked some flavor but the noodles and the gailan were good. Could have used more egg too. The game hen was my favorite. It was crispy and tender on the inside and came with a wonderful sauce. The crab fried rice was a little salty but good. They do use real crab and not imitation The basil chicken was very spicy, but so flavorful. It has such a great fragrance with the basil and sauce. A nice place to go if you just want to pick up some thing and eat at home.

This place is located in a Vietnamese plaza and serves Viet cuisine as well. I think the ladies running the place are Vietnamese as well...at least form the information I gathered during my visit. Sooo....it's a bit confusing. Is this place Thai or Vietnamese? In the end I don't really care. The food is tasty, comes out fast and has Generous Portions! My word...you get two meals for the price one. I don't usually frequent the area. But I'll make an effort to stop by next time I'm around. - 5/5 I have no idea what I ate or ordered. Just pointed at the pic and ordered. Its delicious and hearty...well I attempted to devour the generous portions.

Pad Thai, crushed peanuts, and chili pepper flakes to top it off. Thai tea to wash it down!

The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. It was very busy, with a line out the door by the time we left, so reservations are a good idea!

Everything tastes fresh and comes out delicious, from start to finish. We especially enjoyed the basil fried rice and the ka-praw, and we've also tried a variety of the curries--everything we ordered was on point and full of flavor. It's the kind of place that feels comfortable and welcoming, and it's become our go-to Thai restaurant whenever we're craving Asian food. A generous portion of noodles and veggies, but not as much meat (which is fine by me). As a spicy loving girl, the spiciest level option was good as it was present throughout the entire dish, meaning it was mixed in well! I appreciated this immensely. Also got a mango sticky rice to feed my sweet tooth, and it was good too! Served with blue rice which made it pretty. The bad: Oh my god. I love Rad Nar normally, but when I ordered it from here through UberEats, I was severely disappointed and couldnt even finish a third of the dish. It was severely sweet. Now, I do love my sugar, but holy crap it tasted like they marinated the meat, veggies, and noodles in sugar and then added more sugar when cooking it. I also got the spicy option so it was really weird to eat something sickenly sweet with a little bit of spice when expecting a spicy, savory dish. Maybe it was a bad night for the chef or they mistook salt for sugar, but wow. I was in shock, and in the bad way lol.

First of all, the staff and owner are incredibly nice. They made recommendations for our meal so we could have the best experience. It felt personal and you could feel the chef's love and care with each bite. The space itself is small but incredibly charming. From the paintings on the walls, brick wall, cozy lighting, beautiful mural, and comfortable open seating, it really set the stage for a wonderful meal. Fox Tale Fermentation Project also has plenty of rotating alcoholic and mocktail options which pair nicely with dishes! I ordered the Cali Classic Burger, and although the protein fell apart as soon as I took a bite, however, it was delicious. These flavors are so complex and funky that you can't help but take another bite. Generally, in non vegetarian dishes, the strong flavors of the meat/protein carries the dish, but in these dishes, the condiments, veggies, and fermented elements take your taste buds on a journey beyond the dish itself! The Fox Sando that my girlfriend ordered was also delicious. The toasted ciabatta was the star vessel for the rest of the ingredients. Perfectly toasted with slight hints of char, it really absorbed a lot of the sauces and spreads. I was lucky enough to take the second half of the sandwich home and eat it for breakfast the next day. I was so shocked when the sando itself held up in the fridge and was delicious cold! The flavors absorbed themselves into the bread but didn't make it soggy. I attribute this to the fact the ingredients didn't need to be heated up again to be tasty! Overall, I would absolutely recommend Fox Tale Fermentation Project for anyone who's looking for something different and unforgettable.
