Ordered the Tom Yum Soup with noodle. Soup was a bit spicy with decent flavor. Ordered the lunch special Pad See Ew. The portion is average and it comes with literally 1 egg roll. The flavor was a bit salty and lots of oil. Well, it's nice they give you clear container plastic cup for the soup. You could reuse and put a plant in there or something. Nice. read more

I'd have to say 3.5 but round it up haha! My coworkers and I went during our break to eat (YAY!!! BREAK TIME!) The place is kind of hidden between the traders joes and ....TJ MAXX? It's right next to a salon that also looks like it's closed haha. We walk in and the lighting, deco and environment gave me a sense of "we're closed for today" feel. But the STAFF (singular) greeted us so nicely and politely. We ordered the lunch special which comes with a bowl of rice and egg rolls it's a good deal but the price of their food is a bit pricy... pricier than BANANA BAY.. haha the only THAI FOOD I'd give 5 stars to. Thai specialty beef salad: BEEF salad.. LITERALLY BEEF...salad haha the beef definitely over powered the "salad" portion which isn't bad at all haha I LOVED the fact that there was more MEAT in a SALAD but the dressing....the fish sauce was SO STRONG. I know a lot of people really like fish sauce so I think this salad was great though but if you're looking for a SALAD...this isn't your option haha Pad Thai Shrimp: YUM... I always like pad thai teehee...referring back to banana bay where I encountered my first pad thai this place was as good! :) but if you don't eat it fast enough it gets really hard and sticky..so eat before it turns to ..rock pad see ew: ummm......it wasn't bad but for the price the portions could have been bigger and the pad see ew doesn't have much veges in it. I believe this place is owned by a CARNIVOROUS owner haha obviously they don't believe in A LOT OF VEGES haha :) we also ordered the thai specialty fried rice: IT HAS CASHEWS IN IT! is that normal? It was different.. it was nutty but it did have raisins? in it also. it wasn't my thing but the fried rice was the best out of all.. the sauce wasn't over powering the rice was cooked just right :) My coworker ordered the thai iced tea which was SO MUCH better than my thai iced coffee...(TASTED LIKE 1 espresso shot + 1000 bags of sugar) which made it taste like chocolate.. haha but it was addicting haha Our bill was around $35? a little more I believe it's not EXPENSIVE but I know if I spent over $30 at banana bay I wouldn't be WALKING I would be CRAWLING out cuz I'm so full haha we ended up taking the fried rice back to work to share :) OH ... the egg rolls that come with the lunch combo.. I have been coming here for years but a few days ago during the pandemic I called to order pad see ew for takeout. The lady that answered the phone asked me if I was ok with waiting for an hour for them to start making my order which was just one pad see ew. I asked why it would take an hour to start making it. She said the cook was on lunch so they couldn't start making my food until he returned. I decided not to place my order. I've never heard of food not being made when the cook is off. What do they do when he calls out sick? Do they close? I just thought it was odd. read more

Very good, but felt the price was too high ($10, I believe). Next we got some seafood dish on a skillet... came out extremely hot. Had vegetables. That was pretty good too, nothing special. Finally we had chicken curry. That was also tasty. Wait staff: The guy helping us out was very nice and helpful. 5/5 for that Other bonus: A bowl of white rice came for free with each of our entrees. Overall, the food here is pretty good. But after spending a summer in Thailand last year this food seems way overpriced for something that's not completely authentic. But I can't really blame them - tastes are different here. The service was alright, but overall pretty meh. This place has very good boba! It's a little on the sweet side, but literally melts in your mouth. This spot looks to be run by a family. Expect the usual when it comes to Thai greetings, and there was nothing really special on the menu, but overall if you need to get a Thai food fix, this is the spot locally. The only reason for one star less is because the family soup size comes with a tiny spoon, when we asked for a larger one, she informed that this was the only size they had. The bed of cabbage that came with pepper chicken was for some reason very bitter (not like gone bad just bitter) I had to remove all the chicken to a separate plate before the bitterness soaked into the chicken. They have the best pineapple curry I've tasted in a while, like whoa, really rich flavor and very generous portion, curries also come with a serving of rice, which is a plus. The mango sticky rice is pretty good too, I wished the portion size was bigger given that it's mainly rice but hey, flavor beats quantity for me, so I just order two. I saw the low yelp rating and initially hesitated in trying this place out. But I have been twice now and am glad I gave it a chance. It turns out that this is a great Thai restaurant that has been in Brea for over 30 years, under the same family ownership. Any restaurant that can survive that long under one family's management is worth trying in my book. I've had the Kang Phed curry dish with chicken and it was delicious. Lots of bamboo shoots and the spice level gave it a decent kick. Really tasty flavors work together in this curry sauce. I've also had the chicken tom yum noodle soup and loved it. Noodles were cooked right and it had a good amount of chicken. Perfect tom yum flavors. Service was excellent on both of my visits during late afternoon. My girlfriend and I ordered from here for the first time a few nights ago and my girlfriend is vegan and asked for no eggs in her order when we got home we discovered that there wasn't only eggs in her order but strands of hair, also found hair in my Tom yum soup as well.
