Good Green Curry but on spicier side even when mild
Lina C.

Relatively sizable restaurant spanning 2 storefronts. Plenty of parking in the free shopping center lot. There's a big menu plus lunch specials M-F 11:30-2:30. Good service, reasonable pricing, and flavorful dishes. Enjoyed the green curry with chicken dark meat and pad see eew with braised tofu. Mild spiciness level is still on the spicier side. Some artificial flowers decorate the walls. Would come again!

Not much in terms of decoration, but it is spacious and comfortable. The Fish Cakes were not loaded with fillers and were quite flavorful. Yum Woon Sen is a winner, especially if you like glass noodles, but you need to have high tolerance. I bit into some chili, and it took a while for me to recover, but great flavor. The Khao Soi with vegetables was generously portioned. You get a lot of different veggies including cabbage, bok choy & broccoli. Mom had Khao Soi with tofu. They offered fried tofu (not the soft kind) which was a bit tough according to her, a wonderful dish nevertheless. Service was attentive and friendly. We were offered complimentary pudding in 3 different flavors, coconut, mango and chocolate. They were all good, but my favorite was mango. The restaurant is located in the same strip mall as Vons and parking is plentiful. Definitely recommend.

I'm glad the owner opened up a second location, and it's in Pasadena. I love that many of the entrees can be customized to be vegan-friendly for my husband, and how tasty the food is, just like their Monrovia location. The space they took over from another Thai restaurant feels really dated, and it appeared that there was only one server assisting all customers on a Saturday afternoon during our visit. Also, they are not carrying the same menu items that are offered at the Monrovia location, such as the Thai Boat Noodles. Nevertheless, I am glad there's another great Thai restaurant nearby.

We were in the area for a family member having a surgical procedure. We were immediately greeted by a nice lady that was attentive and willing to serve us. It's a small to medium size restaurant that is simply decorated with basic tables. We order the Pad se ew and the satay chicken. Everything came out pretty quick and was seasoned and cooked well. The serving sizes are pretty good and you will not go away hungry.

First time coming to Thai Thyme. Heard good things online and wanted to check it out in person. They have a Monrovia location but just opened this location in Pasadena. Got their papaya salad with shrimp medium spicy. Just the perfect amount of spice and refreshing. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. Their grilled shrimp with garlic pepper sauce is a must get. Cooked perfectly and sauce is great! BBQ chicken had a lot of flavor and had a nice char flavor. Not dry at all. Would get it again. I'll definitely be coming back.

The food was so good. Great service and nice atmosphere. Easy parking. Will come back definitely!

Khao Soi Noodle Soup

Very delicious food; Tried the Noodle Soup with Coconut Curry, it's amazing, has strong coconut flavor and sweet to the right extent, asked mild spicy and it's indeed mild, unlike the usual case where it's not spicy or too spicy. The food is also in large portions. Overall it warms me up in this chilly rainy night. The restaurant seems a bit understaffed though, maybe because it's on New Year's Eve.

Such a solid thai food place in Pasadena! I stumbled upon this place for a quick lunch on Tuesday lunch (12:30 PM). Even though it was a lunch prime time, food came out so quickly and server lady was so nice. We got chicken Khao Soi, Pad See Ew, and Chicken Satay. Khao Soi was creamy and delicious - very solid Khao Soi I tried in the states. Pad see ew was good also and chicken satay was bomb! So tender and warm. Overall I really enjoyed dining here - casual vibe, amazing service and food, and reasonable price. 10/10 recommended to check out

We have been coming here since 2018, and it's still a regular part of our rotation because it holds…read moreup. Good: - Healthy California cuisine (lots of fresh produce-centric dishes) - Prices are typical for Old Pasadena and a good value for the portions - LOVE the Spanish latte. Still our favorite, anywhere. (Best: small, strong, and in a ceramic mug, not in a to-go cup). - Chocolate hazelnut cake is still heavenly - Lots of outdoor seating on multiple dog-friendly patios - Gorgeous architecture featuring tiles and a small fountain - Consistently see the same staff (a sign of a stable business) - Great for people watching. The diverse mix of locals and tourists gives the place a cosmopolitan, global feel. - They don't make you feel like you need to order more food. If all you want is a pastry or tea, that's fine. - You can actually linger and enjoy yourself, your book, or your conversation as long as you want, without constant interruptions from waiters trying to turn the table. Bad: - The espresso bar can be incredibly slow (like, we've been sitting at our table for a half hour and already finished our breakfast, but our drinks still haven't arrived kind of slow). - It is difficult to follow up with staff if your item never arrives at your table. You don't want to cut in line, but it seems a bit much to get back in a twenty minute line for the register, just to find out where your food is. Fortunately, this has only happened a few times, but when it does, it feels like a scavenger hunt to find someone to help you. - Bussing is slow, and so we frequently see an entire patio section that is covered in dirty dishes. It seems like they like to wait until they can do it all at once, but this means a) fewer tables for new customers, and b) dining surrounded by other people's trash. - Even when we arrive first thing in the morning, it seems like they aren't quite tidied up. There is always still a stray napkin, a straw, bits of food, or something else laying on the tables or ground. A bit more attention to this would elevate the experience and make it feel more upscale instead of fast-casual. Neither good nor bad: - The food is straightforward and well-made with very little seasoning. - It is contemporary, but not super trendy. - Everything is made well, but few dishes are "the best" version that you'll find anywhere Whether you are a longtime local or a first time visitor, I recommend stopping by the Pasadena location for this California chain.

We got a turkey sandwich, their mushroom soup, a quiche, and an eclair (of course - pistachio), and a pot of tea (blue montagne - a black tea with some berry flavors). Everything was really delicious, and it makes me think about how far vegan cuisine has come in the last, even 10 years. Many of their stuff is gluten-free as well. The only thing that I'll say was kind of sad - we got a loaf of beet bread to go, put it in the fridge as soon as we got home, and the next day, it got moldy. I brought it back and exchanged it for one of their charcoal loaves. I think they are under the same ownership or something as the wine bar next door, since they share a space. The space out front is pretty spacious, but there are only 3 tables, so maybe there is another room when it gets crowded? I didn't really explore the space this time.

I had to try this place multiple times in the past two weeks!…read more Backstory years ago I came across these bakers at the farmers market, they have vegan macaroons and my kid is all about the French macaroons! I knew they had opened a brick and mortar in Pasadena a while ago and it just took me until recently to finally make it there. Don't judge me I was trying to spare my wallet and waistline! Anyways none are being spared from the pure delectable excellence at this point! Before I go on I get to acknowledge that yeast breads and sugar can mess me up, sick, bloat, etc. TMI? I dgaf! Because I don't have the extreme reactions here that I usually get elsewhere. Actually a majority of the sweets from the eclairs to the cinnamon twists are reasonably sweetened! There's no compensating sugar for bad ingredients. Every flavor stands out and participates together like the instruments of a symphony. Delightful! The only one I cannot handle so far are the French macaroons which according to my kid are exactly to their liking. So far I've had the cinnamon twist, blueberry bar, chef special cream filled cherry cruffin, and the chef's special quiche which looked so legit I had to ask if it's really vegan!!! What magic is this!?! Because for the price it's insane! Other places would charge double to offer this and I would pay it! Now the drinks...on the pricier side? Yes. Is it worth it HECK YES because I did my drink order again! Dirty Matcha with almond milk (match latte with shot of espresso)' Don't judge me I need the caffeine ride without the crash. Normally this drink tastes like mud everywhere else but here it's a smooth caffeinated perfection. I don't need to bust out the stevia, it's perfect as is!!! This is the first and only time the pairing is balanced and smooth. Needless to say this is my top pick for vegan bakeries and coffee/tea places! I can wait to fully enjoy the ambiance with a decadent crystalline flare of luxury in a quant cafe Bonus: they have pastry classes, afternoon tea, it's a wine bar by night, and there's so much more to know about the artistry and offerings it's well worth the visit!

Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

The waitress was kind but apparently had to bring the receipt back because the staff was claiming we already received it.
