Great lunch! I was soo excited to see a lunch menu. I've been to several different Thai restaurants recently that didn't have lunch specials. The prices were great, the portions were generous, the service was great and most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS! First time here and I wasn't too impressed overall. Definitely need to work on their hospitality, especially when your waiting for your order. Most places offer you water and provide accommodations for you. The food was ok, definitely need to work on their spice levels and portions. If your using inflation as a excuse to provide less then you haven't learn the golden rule. First impressions can lead to your last impression. Everyone deserves a second chance and I might visit this place again. After living in this neighborhood for 25 years, it might take me another 25 years before I revisit. You guys need to upgrade your take out containers and get rid of the cardboard. Came around 3pm, drove about 20 minutes to this location only to be yelled at WERE CLOSED when I walk in. That's fine that you adjust hours for breaks, but edit them on google and yelp and other apps where people check so you can save people a trip. Weird and disappointing. Walk in...they make you order before even sitting down. Then the lady asks if we're ok with using only paper plates and plasticware...because apparently we're having a picnic....? And then they bring the food and it looked terrible. The Som Tom looked like it's been sitting out for ages. The wings were just unseasoned, over battered fried chicken. The Pad See Ew was ok. Here we go with the complaints. Try working on the presentation a bit more and I am talking about the restaurant itself. Like, there are spaces at the front entrance area that's used as a storage space and that's not the first thing I would like to see. It doesn't have to be spectacular, my threshold is low. Presentable and cozy, that's all it takes. Come on, man. Don't depress me with table space turned storage. 2, pad see woo. Too much sauce and not enough firmness in the noodles. This place is great! Me and my husband come about once a month for their lunch specials. The place is on the small side and pretty quiet during the work week at lunch time. The service is kind and attentive but gives you your space to enjoy your meal. I usually get the hot basil lunch special combination and it is so yummy. The meats are so tender and the sauce is full of flavor. Absolutely delicious! My husband usually gets pad Thai or fried rice. The pad Thai is a little on the sweeter side for me, but still good. And the fried rice is nicely flavored. My husband usually orders the duck fried rice and he loves it so much that he orders a dinner portion because he can't get enough of it. The duck is delicious and they actually give you a good amount of duck compared to most restaurants. We have tried other random menu items but these are our go to choices. This is the worst thai food I have ever had. We ordered a non spicy chicken pad Thai and a spicy chicken fried rice dish. They repeated the order back correctly and then we received the opposite of what we ordered. To top it off the pad Thai that had the spice that it wasn't supposed to have tasted like spaghettiOs. For starters, we had: CHICKEN SATAY (4/5) -- The grilled chicken itself was dry with not much flavor, but the cucumber salad & peanut sauce save this dish. FRESH SPRING ROLL (3/5) -- These spring rolls had shrimp, tofu & vegetables, but lacked herb flavors, such as Thai basil, cilantro, or mint.  The Thai Time spring roll sauce was nice.  Rice paper wrappers were dry. Then we had: PAD SEE IEW with Chicken (5/5) -- Excellent noodles with great smokey flavor. GREEN CURRY with Chicken (5/5), PANANG CURRY with Beef (5/5), and YELLOW CURRY with Chicken (3/5).  Jasmine rice was included.. HOT BASIL with Beef (4/5) -- Vegetables were cooked nicely, crisp, with nice balance of basil and chili flavors.  Beef was overcooked and tough. read more

Probably the best Thai food I've had in all of San Diego county. The hostess Dara is one of the most friendly people you could ever have. She will make you feel like you're at home with family. They prepare the pad Thai in some of the best way I've ever had. Recommend asking for spicy beyond their max, as you will truly feel the spice and heat in the most flavorful way possible. One of my go to take out spots. This place is quick and consistently good. They have one of the best Tom kha soups. Perfect thickness and full of flavor. Their curry's are always delicious and their noodles and other dishes are great too. I have to say, not my favorite papaya salad in town but it's still pretty good. If you want small minuscule portions at a relatively high cost then Thai Time is your bet. Thai Time III used to be a favorite of mine. Food is always decent and tasty and service is OK. Never outstanding, but OK. My problem the past couple of years is that the portion sizes seem to keep getting smaller and smaller while the price continues to rise. The price wouldn't bother me if the portion sizes remained the same. For example, I used to be able to have left overs from ordering one of their lunch specials but now it barely fills me up for about $11!!! Not worth it when I can get a full somewhere else for not much more. $11 is way too much for a lunch special!!!! Their dinner portions are very small too compared to other Thai places. Customer service and great and if you dine in and it has an old school feel with a nice fish aquarium in the entrance. They never skimp you on the protein either which is nice. I tried 4 dishes and all of them are so tasty. Huge fan of the Golden Shrimp and their special Thai Time Basket which are very crispy! Lunch special has salad on the side with dressing having peanut butter which is interesting and surprisingly good. Pad Thai is flavorful and the noodles are chewy, not soggy like some other places. Their spicy level could be spicier than expected though, I tried 1.5 level but would prefer 1 or no spice. Fried rice has nice wok hay, but the pineapple is quite bad (didn't bother my overall experience though). The restaurant is quite low-key, but their price is pretty affordable! read more

It's safe to say that Thai Time III is the main Thai restaurant that my wife and I order from. It's a convenient location for us, the prices are pretty par for the course, what we get is always consistent, and we enjoy the food. I often order the spicy noodles with chicken and everytime it is bursting with flavor. My wife likes the yellow curry with tofu and usually gets a Thai iced tea. Excellent service and prompt kitchen turn around. The selection is extensive. The menu groups the selections. Each protein is priced for that section. We've liked almost everything we've ordered from here! Whenever we have friends from out of town that like Thai food, we get food from here. I've enjoyed all the curries -- Penang, green, massamman, and cripsy duck. They are creamy, rich in flavor, and have a good ratio of vegetables and tofu/mock meat/seafood/meat in each one. I think the pricing and portions are fair. I like that they offer mock meat rather than only tofu as a vegetarian option. Hubby likes the pad see ew with beef. It's is not overly strong on soy sauce flavor in the noodles. The pad thai is also pretty good. The Thai Time Basket was the only dish that wasn't a hit. The chicken seemed a little bland which just some spicy (heat) to them. The basket was crunchy but was expecting more of a basket-shaped presentation. I went more recently (during the COVID omicron surge) to pick up takeout and was pleasantly surprised they had closed their dine-in option when other restaurants were still doing dine-in without social distancing. When we sat inside, it was self-serve water, plastic utensils, and paper dishware (very common for Asian establishments post-Covid). Pretty empty upon arrival and yet our waitress took forever to arrive and never checked on us after providing our food. Thankfully the young hostess who seated us was very sweet as well as one of the other women who ultimately checked us out since our waitress never appeared again. My Spicy Noodles (essentially "drunken noodles") were the blandest I've ever had. The chicken wasn't seasoned and as a result clashed with the meal with its very chickeny taste. The bell peppers were lacking, and the basil wasn't fresh because I couldn't taste it. This was like a 3 step recipe for beginners at home. Had zero depth of flavor. Do better guys! read more

Our favorite was California Thai Kitchen, until the owners retired and sold it. We've been to several Thai restaurants and so far this is the closest to CTK, and best we've tried. I'm not from the area and was looking for a place to charge my car. Luckily, this place was close by. We dropped in to have some lunch while waiting for the car to charge. We came in just after lunch time and they have a good selection of lunch specials. I had the green curry and my wife had the spicy noodles. Both dishes were great! We also had the mango dessert which was very good as well. The ambiance here is typical of most Thai places that I have been to.
