Eating here since conception, the menu has changed over time. Now that it is slimmed down to accommodate the cooks I understand as they really get busy. They pour a generous glass of wine and for a neighborhood restaurant I have to say the food is consistent. Just noticed on my bill the addition of25%, 20% tip, come on this is not a white linen restaurant. i tried the one on Brough...ordered onion soup couple months ago, which was nothing more than gravy and the second time I was there a couple months ago; Two people at the bar, one couple in the dining room , we sat for 20 minutes while the waite staff chatted in the kitchen. This is my favorite local restaurant in Savannah. 5 Spot's ambiance draws the customer right in, and makes them feel as though they are in a social environment; the staff is extremely friendly, and the hostesses, bartenders, waiters, and waitresses, do a wonderful job of displaying their personalities, while catering to each customer. The food and drinks are wonderful. The brunch menu is different from the daily menu, but both will leave any customers with everlasting memories, and leave the customer want another chance to experience something else off the menu. read more

Nice location and atmosphere. Drinks were very good. Crab cakes were okay, slaw was very dry. Requested vinaigrette because I am quite sure there wasn't any on the slaw. Fish and chips came with only one filet. Portions were small. Service was just okay. I'm okay with smaller portions of the food is good. We are very fond of this place. Predictable and solid if not quite spectacular. Moderately and fairly priced. They do an especially good job with Salmon salad and Black And Bleu burgers. There bar is well stocked and the bartenders always know what they're doing. My complaint came in the midst of the pandemic weirdness so I probably should give them a break but... we stopped to get food to be supportive. Above average brunch place we've been to a couple times now. It's a nice departure from the craziness that is downtown dining. Parking is plentiful either right off the street or at the lot across the side street. Service was friendly and prompt, we liked being able to sit at one of the few outside tables as we had our dog with us once. We were looking for a place for brunch on our way out of town, without messing with riverfront parking, but still not a chain. The 5 Spot hit the spot. Great local place with good food, reasonably priced, good service and tons of parking. It's a place that locals in the neighborhood come to-it's not a tourist place. Coffee was hot and strong. Croissant was flaky and lightly grilled, cheese was melted. Decor is modern but not fussy. If we lived here, we'd come here all the time. read more

THANK YOU!! For being open till 11PM!!! We just rolled into town and wanted to grab a bite to eat at a local establishment. A pleasant surprise indeed. We ordered the Brunswick Stew and the Shrimp and Grits. Excellent portions and they were both delicious. My husband had the Brunswick stew and asked for toast which was nice and buttery. He likes his food piping hot and said the stew wasn't as hot as he would have liked and and it was missing the small cubed potatoes, but the flavor was good. My dish was plenty hot and tasty with nice sized cubed pieces of ham and good sized shrimp. Great cheesy sauce with a nice seasoning, although a bit saltier than I should be eating ‍and good texture on the grits. Glenda, our waitress for the evening was very attentive! I grabbed lunch at the 5 Spot and I will be sure to be back. The food was delivered promptly and came out nice and hot. I'm vegan and our server Justin was so well informed about the menu and helped me know all of my options. I ended up getting a vegan burger that was cooked perfectly. Justin really did an excellent job checking in on us and making us feel welcome. I did happen to notice was some of the staff either wasn't consistent mask wearing or didn't wear one at all which was kinda weird. read more

This is a cozy little place that hardly gets the recognition it deserves. The offerings are all very fresh, intriguing, and best of all-delicious! Several house special cocktails are worth a look. I am a local Savannah resident. I have ordered or visited this restaurant weekly for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, this restaurant is losing its customers due to the recent management change. I used to walk in and be greeted friendly by the staff and previous manager. The new manager in this restaurant is argumentative and RUDE! I have had 4 awful experiences in the last 6 weeks for both pick-up as well as with dining. Outside of the new managers there, the service has also decined. I recommend that if you are visiting or within walking distance like my family friends, and professional colleagues, you go to Bella's and avoid the experiences that I have had. This neighborhood establishment is unfortuately not a place that the Midtown/Ardsley Park residents are all talking positivelty anymore. read more

Our original plans out the window, we made our way to The Five Spot and we're pleased to find plenty of parking. I'd already heard good things about their food so we started off with the fried green tomatoes. Let me tell you. No matter what, always get the fried green tomatoes. Served over grits with feta and pistou, and way better than expected. My California Bowl with shrimp was pretty good. Wife got the Steak and Bleu salad. I'm not a fan of Bleu cheese, but I had a bite and loved it. Our daughter enjoyed a bowl of roasted brussel sprouts. Will definitely come back, even just for the fried green tomatoes, and try more of the menu. read more

I have read a few of the reviews and decides, heck its about time that I do my review. I found this place by word of mouth and I am most certainly glad I did. I have yet to venture to far into the menu because i normally go on lunch and definitely don't want to have that sleepy time set in while im back at work. We all know how that goes. Like I said, i cant comment on to muc of it because I havent tried to many things but the gyro and the white truffle oil fries are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Scales if 1-5 Appearance - 5. Love it reminds of a place that should be in a heavy metropolitan area but cost way more. Service - 4. Depending on when you go it may take you a minute to get your food. The avergare wait for me at lunch is about 15 to 20 minutes. Food quality - 5. Pretty dang amazing. I love it so far. I will add reviews for what I eat as i try more things. As for right now though. So everyone has bad days. My last experience there was a bad day. Perhaps brunch isn't their thing. I dunno. Regardless, I went back last week while home. Oh man. Best shrimp and grits EVER (other than my own of course). Served in a cast iron skillet, the shrimp were perfectly cooked and the grits were creamy and cheesy with a great scattering of scallions and chunks of ham. Divine. The fried green tomatoes were also perfection on a plate. There is a decent beer and wine list, live music on weekends. Now the place is crowded and cramped so be prepared. This is definitely a locals spot as it is out in Habersham Village and away from the historic area where the tourists are. read more

I've eaten here before and have had a pleasant experience, so I brought a friend. Today, not so much. They wouldn't accommodate my food allergy this time, as they make everything in the same oil. I decided to get a waffle instead. It's tasteless and dense like stale cornbread. The side of fruit consists of perhaps two cut up strawberries and a few old looking blueberries. The bacon I had ordered well done was practically raw and covered with pepper. My friend said his burger was a grease pit, the lettuce was soggy, the potato was half cooked and the sweet tea was by no means sweet. The waiter asked how was the waffle, a young man in his twenties, I said honestly, not great and he said fair enough and walked away, much to our chagrin. I won't be eating here again. I don't recommend anyone else to eat here either. read more

With the feel and ambiance of a friendly neighborhood venue, The 5 Spot serves up some very delicious food that isn't fussy or trendy, but is darn good when you are in the mood for something homey and comforting. I have only visited a few times for lunch, so I cannot speak to the breakfast or dinner offerings, but at lunch time business is brisk and the food will get you through the rest of your day. On the most recent visit, I opted for the Reuben Sandwich. I love a classic Reuben and, quite often, two things ruin one for me: either there is too much dressing that masks the other flavors or the rye bread is drippingly greasy. At The 5 Spot, neither of those things happened. The pastrami is grilled so it has a bit of a crispy edge (yum!) and the proportion of sauerkraut to dressing and pastrami is perfect, allowing the flavor of the sauerkraut to come through as it should. The rye bread is nicely grilled and not greasy. I didn't have to reach for a napkin after each bite. I selected fries as my side, and they were perfectly crisp on the exterior as fries should be. All in all, a hearty and delicious lunch. My husband selected their 5 Spot Classic Burger. He asked it to be grilled medium. . . and it was! The grilled onions and applewood smoked bacon added to the juicy flavor of the beef while not diminishing it. A burger demands a toasted bun, and this one was perfectly toasted. It is a good sized burger that is filling without being ridiculously large. Victoria, behind the bar, had a large section of customers to keep happy, and she did it all with a smile. Past visits have had us try the Chicken Pot Pie--I recommend it highly--The Adult Grilled Cheese, and the Fried Green Tomato BLT. All have been served to us in a timely manner and all were delicious. The 5 Spot is not fancy or cutting edge, but it is a great place to stop if you are in the Habersham Village area. I don't think you will leave hungry. read more

I was pretty excited to see this little place open in an up and coming neighborhood in Savannah. When we walked in, there was a nice crowd and the atmosphere was modern and inviting. We didn't mind the 45 minute wait because it gave my party an opportunity to walk around and look at some of the there shops in the area. My first thought was that this place is going to take off and will be a regular when I am home visiting my family. I must say that once we were seated I was sadly mistaken. I understand that it is a new business but it seemed like they were out of several items on their menu. The service was nice nothing bad nothing great. Now, the food. I mainly judge places on the the food. Service counts but Food is what keeps me coming back. I ordered the Skirt Steak left much to be desired. The meat was dry and bland and did not appear to have been covered with a garlic butter rub. There was no onion pepper relish on the plate, instead there was a molise sauce that did not match with the meal. The rice and beans were just OK. It is kind of hard to mess up canned black beans. I also tried the shrimp and grits and was even more disappointed. Talk about salt overload. I could not taste my food because it was so salty. It could not be finished by my sister because it was so salty. Now let's talk about the guacamole, it tasted like it came out of a bag, it had no taste of cilantro, onion, or any other type of veggie. It was actually really nasty. Overall, this is a new place in a great location. It is really nice on the inside and the ambiance would make me come back. At this point, the food was so bad.. I have to give it a low score. Besides the over-salted or bland food, it seems like a place that I will give another chance. I think I will and hope that at that time I can give the food a better score. read more

We've eaten here several times and each time we receive our food we wonder why we're back. Luckily I think we made that mistake for the last time. Most things here are over-seasoned and just plain gross. It's convenient to our house and they serve alcohol, those are about the only positives in my experience. Tonight was another subpar dining experience with bad food and slow service. What was really awesome was my kids ordering Alfredo pasta...they always order the kids pasta but Alfredo sauce rather than Mac/cheese, tonight what they received was $28 of nasty Cajun Alfredo pasta with shredded chicken. We get here and have had more than four different servers come out to us and because of that, they kept charging us double of everything. It was not busy, and it took a long time until we received our food. Then right there as I pick up my food, there is a hair on my food that looks like an eyelash! I run my tray into the manager and they come out with a new one and then we got the bill. They still charged us for the meal, and after we waited for such a long time. We had to get a manger and explain they need to take this off the bill for the inconvenience of which they admitted it was an eyelash! Just ew DO NOT GO! read more

I went to eat here while visiting in Savannah because it was highly recommended on multiple sites for having great food, etc. Boy can I say that was wrong! The food was terrible. I got the shrimp and grits; the shrimp was OK, but the grits were all dried up and clumpy. Not to mention lukewarm. My kids didn't even like their chicken tenders. Fries were probably the best thing there. The service was also not great; the hostess had ZERO personality and was not very friendly at all. The server was nice enough, but didn't make a lasting impression. Nothing about this place stood out as exceptional. I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone. read more

I've been to the 5 spot a few times, and each time it's just okay for some reason. I can't quite put my finger on it. Something is missing here, and I'm not sure what it is. Could be the fact that it's 60 degrees inside at all times, or maybe it's the chill I get from the servers (not the friendliest) but it doesn't have that warm, comforting feel you want from a place like this. The service is slow and the food doesn't quite make up for it. I had the sweet potato curry, and the flavors were satisfactory but the potatoes were undercooked and it didn't come with any sides. It was just a large flat bowl with curry in it. No rice, no salad, no nada. Plus they charged for my club soda, which is always a red flag for me. If it weren't for my grandmother loving this place, I'd gladly avoid it next time I'm in town. Way too many excellent restaurants in Savannah, and not sure how this place is still going after a few years. read more

They are not as good as they was a while back. This our 2nd time back since a couple of months ago and it wasn't good then. We tried again and no hasn't improved, the flavor wasn't there and we had dirty tableware twice.
