Service for a party of 9 was good. Abby was a good server. The quality of the food was overall good. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich which claimed to be crispy in the description. Now...I know it's hard to make buffalo chicken with the right amount of crisp but this was pretty soggy. Prices were decent. Such a disappointment. We waited for 10 min and as we were getting up to leave someone finally took our order. Ordered 2 beers and an appetizer. 15 min later our appetizer arrived and we were still waiting for our beers. Both my husband and I had to use the restroom, when I went a waitress came out and told me "have fun we're out of paper towels" and my husband reported the men's was broken. Good burgers. Very good prime rib. The sea bass is a specialty so they don't have it very often. But when I ordered it, it was excellent. Admittedly, it seems like a sports bar and it is wide open and loud, so it can be difficult to hear the person on the other side of the table. read more

I've been twice. First time was excellent! Second time, eh not so much. Our group was seated by a friendly hostess, and there we sat for 15 minutes before our waitress appeared. After quickly taking our drink order, we didn't see her again for 10 more minutes. Keep in mind, the restaurant was not very busy at this time. After receiving our drinks (finally!) we placed our food order. My husband ordered salmon, I ordered a filet medium. Both of our meals were over cooked, and very poorly seasoned. Based upon other positive Yelp! reviews, my wife and I decided to give Brass Rail a try. We were both very pleasantly surprised with everything about our visit. The hostess was very friendly, courteous and efficient. Our server, Steven, also provided prompt and courteous service and was able to answer all of our food and drink questions with an impressive level of detail. The restaurant was busy, however our server checked back with us frequently to ensure our drinks were refilled and that we didn't have any other needs. The food was delivered hot and was exactly as expected based upon the menu and server descriptions. Following our meal, the manager, Robin, stopped at our table and asked if we were happy with our meals, inquired how we heard about the restaurant, and thanked us for our business. I can't recommend this restaurant for a quality steak or experience based on my visit. Yes, we came at rush time at 6:30 and we had no issue with the wait to be seated, but the hour wait for our food was ridiculous. The steak quality is also questionable. I got a prime strip steak and it absolutely was not a prime steak. My fiancée got the surf and turf, should have been the same cut and quality as mine, and was day and night difference compared to mine. Maybe they just screwed up my order or maybe they just had an off night for the back of house, but it was our first time here and will never be back. For what it's worth our waiter was awesome and he had to manage a neighboring table as well whose steaks were cooked incorrectly twice. read more

Ambiance is more suited for a casual lunch. My wife and I recently moved to St. Peter's and we are constantly looking for non-chain, unique places for dinner. After reading the reviews, we thought we'd give it a shot. Unfortunately the ambiance felt more like a pub and grill chain. There were numerous children crawling around the floors and making loud noise and the dining area felt very crammed. Don't recommend for a dinner date! As for the food, it was okay but not great. My wife ordered the crab cakes and was happy with how much crab was in it although it didn't have much taste. I ordered the pulled pork and was very disappointed. It was extremely dry and salty and didn't have much taste aside from the salt. I'm sure there are other dishes that I would have liked better but we will not be returning give. We've tried eating here two previous times. The first time my son had fallen asleep as we pulled in the parking lot and the second the wait was going to be too long. We tried again tonight and we are glad we did. The food was fresh, delicious, and a great value. The atmosphere was lively, but not overwhelming. It had a good sports bar type feel, without feeling like you had to be into the game. There was a bit of a wait for the entrees to be delivered but not unreasonable for the quality of the food. Service was exceptional and food was outstanding. Warm bar atmosphere. I had lunch here 7/10/14 when attending a workshop in this area. While being seated, we told the server we were short on time. I was so impressed with the attention he gave us to ensure we made our deadline. Offered quicker menu suggestions, ensured someone took our order right away, brought bills (split checks? No problem.) then promptly returned to get payments. On top of great service, the entire table loved their food. I had french dip & sauteed spinach. Both were amazing, but the spinach was what made me realize, I must come back here. Sauteed just right. Great flavor without being mushy. Roast Beef was also so yummy. We've eaten here twice, both times leaving full and happy. Tonight we had the Chilean sea bass special and their new smoked wings. Both meals were delicious! House side salads were generously portioned and their homemade dressings are worth the calories! Great wine and beer list with generous pours. They take the time to get to know people and seem to genuinely care about us as people, not just a tip. It's not just us (even though I think we're pretty special).
