Oscar Benedict

I've driven thru Connecticut on road trips for over 25 years and each time I try to find a good breakfast place to stop at. I've found good, ok and not so good. Today, I found great. The menu variety, the food quality, the level of service (friendly yet speedy), the spaciousness, the cleanliness...I love this place. The Oscar benedict was outstanding. The search is over. This is the best breakfast in Connecticut and ill be back next month. My one pro tip: bring a hoodie. It's cold inside!

Pleasantly surprised by the nice presentation. Menu has standard breakfast items with some specials that sounded very good as well. Wait staff was very friendly. Plenty of parking and a nice little outdoor area to sit as well. Inside can be a little loud / echoey when full. Food was definitely good. Would return!

Everything about this diner is amazing! Great food, service, and hospitality. They were able to seat my party of 5 quickly during a busy brunch hour. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with the cutest fall decor, definitely loved that touch. I have been thinking about this Benedict and wanting to go back! Note: there is a parking lot!

WOW! What a great spot for breakfast! I'm never this direction but this I know. If I'm ever this area again this is where I would come for a good breakfast. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Everything that came out of the kitchen just looked so good! I came hungry so I definitely had a nice feast. I like a balance of salty and sweet. I ordered an egg white western omelette with wheat toast. I had to try their lemon ricotta pancakes. Everything was delicious! I did share the pancakes because I ordered a single but a stack came out. When we arrived it was about 1:30 and they were going to close for 2 but they did not rush us or feel like we were holding them back. I would love to come here again to try more options but I think I might order the same thing again but it was just so satisfying.

My wife and I came here to get some breakfast. She got the Cajun Shrimp omelette. I got the bacon egg and cheese. Both dishes were incredible!! Super fresh and super hot. Melty - cheesy - tasty! The resturaunt is super clean, a lot of seating and very sunny. Located in a wonderful location in North Haven. A lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Waitresses very nice and timely. The one thing I think was missing was a constant topping off of the water and the coffee. I didn't receive any refills. In these situations you want a waitress to continue to refill every few minutes without asking. Overall will absolutely eat there again and loved it.

The restaurant is roomy and easy to find, not far off the exit. The food was great - not one thing to complain about! All 3 of us were happy with our meals. The warm grilled veggie wrap with chicken was big and delishly messy! The best part of our experience was our server. She was friendly, quick and knew the menu well, so she was able to answer our questions and make helpful suggestions. Kudos, Lisa!

My fav place in North Haven! They always get my eggs right, and they pay attention to detail! The sausage links are amazing and the grits... for this southern gal... grits are a must and they are creamy and delish! The pumpkin streusel muffin with cinnamon muffin? Forgetaboutit!! It's divine!!! Hubby loved the California Benedict!! The service is perfect... so friendly, personable, and welcoming! I love the deep brown and creamy taupe walls, the French signage, and the touches of country roosters here and there! Even the tables are thoughtfully place, as well as outdoor tables when the weather is nice! There's also counter service and the employees are always keeping busy back there! Can't wait to come back!!

I just have to write this review because the service we got here was amazing! Shout out to Karen, she was such a sweetheart! As for food, it was also pretty tasty! There's a bunch of options to choose from for both breakfast and lunch. They have their original menu and also weekly menu with specials. My friends and I got a bunch of different things and we all agree that they were very filling. The portions were huge! They also have a ton of indoor and outdoor seating with the sweetest decor. Definitely a breakfast place to check out (especially considering there's not many in the area).

Very delicious French Toast

First time, you wait on the honor system. Total wait time was about 25 minutes which was great for a Saturday morning. Service was quick. I ordered the French Toast which was amazing. Really enjoyed the Honey Butter. I also ordered Mama's Corned Beef Hash. I didn't feel it was house made like advertised. It was not what I was expecting, tasted so-so and definitely not something I would order again I would go again, there were a few items I want to try.

we went to this place for breakfast when we visited JimC.the place was crowded but we were seated right away. I had eggs over easy with corned beef hash. the hash needed to add some potatoes and onions so it would have a more hashy flavor. my eggs were cooked perfectly and the coffee was very good. Chrissy had some giant pancakes with blueberries that she said were absolutely delicious and JimC had the French toast with sausage that he really enjoyed. the places large inside with plenty of room and they also have seating if you want to sit outside.

Turkey Club

Great spot outside of North Haven. Nothing unusual exactly, just well-made breakfast and lunch. I had the Turkey Club. Not typically much you can do to set this sandwich apart, but this one was great. The bacon was off all sides of the sandwich, giving the turkey a nice salty flavor. Everything came fast and hot. The servers are friendly, and you can tell they enjoy working with each other. Everything I saw come out looked great. I can't wait to come back for breakfast.

This is definitely the best place For breakfast in New England. It edges out the "Griddle Cafe" on sunset Blvd. In Los Angelas a draw for world travelers. The menu is more than extensive with fantastic creative specials. The service is warm, wonderful and efficient. My French toast special was phenomenal. This place is a must if you want to really spoil yourself.

Onto the drinks and food which were so delicious and truly enjoyable. I got the Beachy Bee Iced Latte special, which is a honey vanilla latte with a coconut cold foam and toasted coconut on top (simply divine)! My fiancé got the cappuccino which was made just to his liking, and he's a coffee connoisseur. For food, I had the Bumble, which I highly recommend, with scrambled eggs, subbed with the gluten free sourdough bread (+$2 up-charge) and cheddar instead of American cheese. It's served all day and had so much flavor with that garlic butter, and the seasoned steak. Yum! If you are gluten free like me, you will appreciate that they have the gluten free sourdough bread or a gluten free wrap to substitute with. My partner had the Basic Bee with bacon and thought it was flavorful with light and fluffy scrambled eggs that complimented the bacon well. Overall, I would really recommend this place if you're looking for a breakfast or lunch in Wallingford!

I normally try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but our experience at The Bees Knees Bistro…read morein Wallingford was honestly very disappointing and upsetting. My family and I arrived while it was raining outside with our young daughters in strollers, expecting to sit down for a meal and get out of the weather. Instead, we were told we could not come in with the strollers and essentially felt unwelcome the moment we walked through the door. As parents of babies who are still too young to sit safely in high chairs on their own, the strollers are not optional for us , they are necessary. We were not being disruptive, rude, or inconsiderate. We were simply trying to have a meal as a family. Rather than attempting to accommodate us or show any understanding, we were left feeling like having children made us an inconvenience. What made the situation even worse was the fact that it was pouring outside. Any level of kindness or flexibility would have gone a long way. Instead, we felt embarrassed, frustrated, and honestly shocked by the lack of compassion and customer service. Families with young children already face enough challenges going out in public, and experiences like this make it even harder. We ended up leaving and taking our business somewhere else that was far more welcoming and understanding toward families. It is disappointing because we were genuinely looking forward to trying this restaurant, but first impressions matter. A restaurant does not need to be "kid-centered" to still treat parents and babies with basic respect and decency. I completely understand that restaurants may have space limitations or policies, but there is a respectful and compassionate way to handle situations like this. Instead, the experience came across as cold and dismissive. There are many restaurants in the area that are happy to accommodate families, and moving forward those are the businesses I will continue to support. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to families with infants or children who still require strollers or extra accommodations. I wont be going back and giving them .you business, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone. Totally rude and discrimination towards those with babies. I did not feel cherished like their website says every guest is. Its sad because this will and im sure does effect their business. I will never give them my business after yesterday. No attempts at accommodating us or evening offering to let us sit outside, lazy staff, but yet there were 3 teenage girls taking names for the wait list. What a joke.

I finally had the absolute pleasure of visiting Crossroads recently. What an outstanding place…read more Super awesome, cool and friendly owner/staff. Inviting comfy space. So far, I have only tried the one latte, the jasmine peach latte, which had peach puree, house made jasmine syrup, house made white tea cold foam and dried peaches. It was probably the best latte I have ever had. While their specialty drinks are only available small & medium, their sizes are 16 oz, 20 oz, 24 oz, so the small is actually the equivalent of some shops' large. I have only heard good things about their baked goods/pastries and they both looked and sounded amazing. I can't wait to try one hopefully very soon! Overall it was as close to a perfect experience as you get. Must try for sure. Immediate top spot for me.

Recently obsessed with this local coffee joint. Been spending the week in North Haven checking out…read moresome spots. Super cozy place, eco friendly with some of the best coffee/matcha. Friendly service at the counter, few tables inside to lounge at. My wife and I frequent the Last Drop in Monroe and this is ultra comparable. Very good pricing and kudos to them for using and making homemade syrups! I am a matcha guy so I get an iced matcha latte with vanilla cream cold brew. My wife has had the special Cherry Cold Brew which sells out quick and some lattes with cinnamon brown sugar, fantastic. I vow to get there early enough one of these days to try their blueberry muffins, always sells out quick. They have a host of other pastries as well, you are missing out if you don't try this place.

Got a combo with eggs, sausage, home fries, and pancakes. The eggs were outstanding. Best in a restaurant in a long time. My banana crunch pancakes were s one and done. So they did have them but sadly not southern style with breakfast sausage. I guess this is Italian style as it was made with sweet Italian sausage. Good not what I was looking and hoping for.
