    Ortega Chili and cheese omelette.
    Michele D.

Came here the other day to meet a friend for lunch. The customer service was somewhat attentive. The food, overall, is a 3 1/2 stars. I had the Ortega Chili and Cheese Omelette with fruit and toasted bagel. It was just ok. It could be better. Huge Ample Parking Lot in front. And like all other reviews stating that the prices are too high, I would have to agree. For what you pay, I expected the food to be 5 Star Hotel quality. Sadly, this is not the case. The plus side is that they have a spacious outdoor patio that welcomes dogs on a leash. So, in conclusion, in my opinion, the other negative reviews posted for The Brig are true. I'm giving this place a generous 4 Stars! If they want to continue business and charge these high prices, they definitely need to step up the service and food. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. That's my take.....

We have been patronizing since day one over 40years. Great food and prices. Fast service great employees. Not crowded midweek breakfast. Outside seating available. Closing forever at end of month to make way for development changes.

Pretty good burger, but very expensive for what you get. No gluten free buns, but the burger was flavorful. Prices very high- 24.95 for a burger and fries.

Met a friend here for breakfast just to catch up. I had never been to The Brig and while I have heard of it, was not really sure where it was. The friend said it was one of his favorite places in Dana Point for breakfast and it had been here forever. We had our choice of seating, since it was still pretty early and not many diners yet. The menu was large and had many choices for breakfast. I am a breakfast burrito fanatic, so if they offer one, I will choose it. The description threw me off a bit, since it was not a classic breakfast burrito, but it did sound intriguing. From the menu: Breakfast Burrito: Two large scrambled eggs, mixed with diced green peppers, onions, your choice of chopped bacon or ham, rolled in a giant flour tortilla, topped with ranchero sauce and melted jack & cheddar cheese. Served with rice & refried beans. I went with the ham option and it was served pretty quickly and the whole thing, including the plate was uber hot. I could not push the plate around unless I was using my napkin. That's hot! To help things along, I cut a couple of slices into the burrito to allow the steam and hotness to escape. I looked great, but as I mentioned before not your classic breakast burrito. The peppers and onions, the ranchero and cheese on top, all made this a bit different. As I learned, different can be fantastic. It was a very good breakfast meal. Eggs cooked nicely and the mix of the other ingredients along with the toppings were excellent. If you are at The Brig around breakfast and are really hungry, get their version of a breakfast burrito. Along with the massive burrito, they serve rice and beans. I had some of the beans, but since I did Go. EAT WELL. HAVE FUN!!!

Cheese & avocado omelette (soo many inside!!) w/ egg whites, bacon on side 10/10

cute little hidden gem in the harbor that's been here for years and finally made my way over! The food is delicious, service is great (thank you Dina!)! So underrated, definitely recommend checking them out for a casual, great breakfast or lunch!

Literally the BEST food, drinks and service every time we come!! Brought out of town family today, who completely agreed! Best ham cheese and egg croissant, omelettes, huge amount of the best flavored fresh fruit, even the coffee just tastes better than anywhere! We love this place. Side note don't forget the chocolate brittle at check out- it's SO good, especially with vanilla ice cream at home! Love this place so much. Thanks guys!!

Cobb Salad - The Best in OC

After all of the great meals over the years at the Brig, I finally had Kevin's made- from-scratch cinnamon roll. It was the best cinnamon roll I've ever had! I have been missing out! The omelette I had yesterday was better than any other locally. The locals should support this restaurant as it is family owned/operated and they really go out of their way to offer the best experience possible. Take a look at the Cobb Salad with freshly made turkey, Huge and Delicious!

Im a local around here for the beach and bike riding and i don't know why but i never went into The Brig before so i gave it a shot and i loved the food it was good . I had a huge Turkey and bacon triple stack sandwich and a house salad that was awesome. The service here was also super friendly and tentative. Its very relaxing and quiet just the the way i like it and i loved relaxing to the football game that was on. The only reason i gave a 4 star is the menu is pricey but at least the food is good.

Not only was I thankful that my friend treated me to a beautiful and delicious lunch, but also I'm just so grateful for the views, service and overall good vibes. Hunter was our server and was incredible. He was helpful and attentive. As far as the food, we started with the soft pretzel and unfortunately it wasn't that soft. It actually seemed a little stale. However, the rest of our meal was 10/10! I got the chicken club, while my friend got the pastrami. Both sandwiches were so delicious and bursting with flavor! I also love that they have zero proof options on the menu. That's always a plus for me. Hunter ended the meal with a complimentary birthday treat and WOW...the chocolate cake was a small slice of pure bliss. I highly recommend it! Lastly, they even have complimentary valet. I will be coming back to Club 19 very soon to try more of the menu!

No problems. Food "was" delicious. Pricey, but you're at the Waldorf Astoria... Then I get home. And I had projectile (redacted) all evening from the time I got home, until about 11pm. I couldn't even hold down water. I was so dehydrated, I would chuck water + liquid IV, and 30 minutes later, I would be praying to the porcelain god. In all my years of life, I don't think this has ever happened (minus infant-hood) I abruptly woke up by (redacted) myself in bed. TMI, I know, but I just need to get across the severity of this stomach bug. The only other thing I ate this day was a bag of sour cream and onion chips my friend got on the course with his hotdog. So that leaves this. I know this is not common here, but I had to be honest with my experience. Other people got burgers and they were fine, so it's hard to pinpoint what exactly it was. I did have a side of Mayo. So maybe? It's now Monday night and my fever has dropped from 101.8 to 99.1. Overall it's hard to say I would ever come back considering the price to food... This place is like a little slice of paradise, brimming with Ohana and Aloha, and I'm here for it! First off, the **macadamia nut pancakes** are a game changer. Moist, fluffy, and bursting with flavor, they practically dance on your taste buds! If you're not careful, you might just end up ordering a second stack--no judgment here! And don't even get me started on the **spam musubi**. It's like a warm hug from an old friend--authentic and oh-so-delicious! You can almost hear the waves crashing as you take your first bite. Now, let's talk about the **kalibi **. Cooked to perfection, it's the kind of dish that makes you want to shout "Aloha!" at the top of your lungs. Seriously, I think I might've shed a tear of joy with each forkful. To wash it all down, the **Hawaiian latte** is a must-try! It took me back to the islands I miss so much--smooth, rich, and just the right amount of tropical. I may or may not have been tempted to sip it while wearing a grass skirt. In a nutshell, Stacks Pancakes is a delightful culinary escape that'll leave you smiling from ear to ear. So gather your friends and family, and experience the warmth of Hawaii without leaving the mainland. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! Aloha and pancakes for all!

I've had two separate experiences at Raya this year, and both were unacceptable -- which is…read moredisappointing because the rest of the property has consistently been excellent. Kahani, the club lounge, and the Marketplace all delivered exactly what you expect from a hotel at this level: attentive, well-trained staff, seamless service, and a clear understanding of hospitality standards. That's why I've never focused on smaller issues before -- they didn't outweigh the overall quality of the stay. Unfortunately, Raya has now been the exception twice. The first time, back in January, the food quality wasn't on point-I ordered the blackened tuna tacos and they were completely inedible. I didn't complain or send them back -- I simply left it at that. Today was service from one particular server Taylor. I had just come down from the club lounge and remembered that I had a complimentary voucher given at check-in, which didn't specify what it covered on it. I first asked at the lobby bar and no one was able to provide a clear answer, so I went next door to Raya and asked again before ordering. The hostess told me I could choose anything and even recommended the skirt steak. She was kind and friendly. Taylor took my order, and I reasonably assumed there had been communication between staff. So I spent some time ordering and waiting and when my food arrived since I asked for a to go order, I grabbed the bag, tipped, and left. Then Taylor ran after me at the hotel entrance asking how I planned to pay -- in front of other guests. It was an extremely uncomfortable and bizarre situation. I didn't realize what has happened I was just handed the bill and I put my room number and name down. I was then told the voucher only covered guacamole, which directly contradicted what I had been told prior to ordering. As a result, I wasted approximately 40 minutes of my time, I was simply trying to head to the beach before departing, and instead found myself dealing with a situation that should have been handled internally and discreetly. When I handed the food back and said I did not want it, the response was "ok, I'll toss it," followed by no acknowledgment, no apology, and no effort to resolve the situation. At this point, this is no longer an isolated incident. For a restaurant positioned as fine dining, the lack of internal communication, consistency, and basic guest handling is surprising -- especially when every other outlet on the property demonstrates a significantly higher standard. Raya was the only part of the experience that felt misaligned with the rest of the hotel -- and unfortunately, it's the last impression I'm leaving with.

My wife is a big fan of their Adobo Breakfast Bowl and on our second visit, she decided to order it again. To our surprise the dish came out noticeably different from what we remembered. It had more sauce and a hint of sweetness, almost leaning toward a paksiw-style flavor. When we asked one of the servers (not the one assigned) about it, we were told that some adjustments had recently been made to the ingredients. We were a little disappointed since we really enjoyed the original flavor from our previous visit. Thankfully, our assigned server took the time to share our feedback with the owner, Anthony. He personally acknowledged that some adjustments had been made BUT also recognized that the dish we received was not up to their standard. What really stood out to us was how he handled the situation. Rather than dismissing our concern, he offered a thoughtful resolution that completely turned the experience around and made us feel genuinely valued as customers. To me, THIS is what great hospitality looks like. Food may not always come out perfectly but when a restaurant listens, acknowledges a concern, and makes a genuine effort to find a resolution for the best possible customer experience, it makes you appreciate the place even more. I strongly recommend giving this place a visit. There aren't many Filipino-themed restaurants in SoCal that offer this level of food quality, hospitality, and overall experience. We'll definitely continue coming back!
