No. This restaurant is such an americanized "shanghainese" food and there's no need to come here for food unless they offer it authentically. I would rather take the further route to elmhurst or flushing to have real shanghainese food. Don't order the weird steak that is strangely fried and had some sweet and sour. The soup dumplings were also not that great, shouldn't be anyone's first time tasting soup dumplings because it wouldn't be the best experience. The fried dumpling was better than the soup dumplings, but it was still not as good as flushing ones. Things were bland when they were to be spicy. We went on there opening night as well after 9:00. Simply ordered the cucumber with garlic...it was just that cucumber and garlic. It did not have the rice wine/sesame oil flavors that I am accustomed too. We wanted to enjoy other appetizers but what we wanted was not available. General Tso's chicken was tender but extremely bland, no tang, no heat. I asked for a suggestion for a simple whole fish with vegetables. The waitress suggested the fish with spicy bean paste and tofu. Fish was cooked perfectly but heavy on the sauce. Not really what I wanted but I ate it anyway. Vegetables were odd...carrots and peas? We also had to ask for rice twice after our main courses were served separately. We will give the place another try since we think they need to iron out some kinks. All the best! read more

I've only ordered delivery from here but I think the fact that I've ordered from here 8 times in the past week means I am either really lazy or I really like their food. Let's be honest. Forest Hills/Rego Park is no Flushing/Elmhurst but you know what? I'll take it. There is ZERO options for decent Chinese food in this area unless you count East Ocean but apparently they only deliver if you live on the same block as their restaurant. I've ordered from the Bund several times because the Rego Park/Forest Hills area's "Chinese food" options is really lacking, unless you like Chinese-American food like General Tsao's chicken or fried chicken wing with french fries. This latest and probably last time, I ordered: *Beef Tripe with hot pepper sauce: bad, bad, and bad. So salty that it was inedible. Literally, after I ate one piece I tossed the rest. *Special Pork with pancake wrap: I've ordered this 3x and each time either the meat was too tough or the pancake wrap was tough and tasted very old. *Mapo Tofu: It was spicy, but was also the worst mapo tofu I've ever had. It tasted like soy sauce and leftover hot chili oil scrambled together. I literally could've made it myself, which is why I paid someone to make it for me---I should've saved the cash and made a bad meal myself. *Shanghainese Wonton with soup: There was nothing Shanghainese about the wonton. It's regular wonton you would get from a Chinese-American restaurant as part of the soda or soup portion of the lunch special. Also, the wontons were really flimsily made and most had already fallen apart in the soup. Meat tasted nasty and almost rancid. Personally I would never eat here again. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one star is because my then boyfriend and now fiancé, thought his food was OK. We went there about a month after they opened, and it's possible that they hadn't not worked out the kinks yet, but the place had a smell that I did not like, my dish that came out literally smelled rancid. From what I've heard from other people, either they really like it or they don't like it at all. It's not very typical for your neighborhood Chinese restaurant to garnish such extreme opinions. This is the height of it! We have ordered delivery tonight at 7:16pm according to the staff (the expected delivery time the order will take about 30 minutes now it is 8:49pm and the food has not arrived yet. We live only three blocks away from this restaurant! At 8:16pm we called to confirm to check why is there a delay and the staff mentioned that the chef has not prepared the food yet. We called again at 8:51pm and the staff mentioned the delivery man just left and he will arrive to in 5-10 minutes and now it is 9:26pm. And the food has not arrived. For the Bund Staff, if you are understaffed do not take deliveries. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant at all when it comes to delivery. read more

Placed an order through Seamless, and the delivery person became indignant and rude - waiving his finger in my face at my door and demanding a cash tip that had already been paid on Seamless. It's important to state this: the official Seamless policy regarding tipping is that TIPPING IS OPTIONAL, the delivery person was lucky to be getting what he was given. I then promptly called the resturant and spoke with someone who claimed to be the manager who stated he will "talk with the delivery boy". The delivery person should be FIRED because this was the second time this has happened (I didn't bother to complain the first time). Bottom line: the food is good, but their service sucks. ---- In response to David K., business owner: I understand your argument regarding tipping delivery guys, but I am under no obligation to tip at all as it is OPTIONAL - regardless of quality of food or service. It doesn't matter if I order through Seamless/Grub Hub, if I order by phone, or if I am a customer sitting in your restaurant, tipping is OPTIONAL. Your delivery guy should consider himself lucky to receive the tip amount that he did. Nearly two years after my initial review I ordered from Bund again. In order to be fair, I ordered 3 times in the last month. Each time the food arrived within the promised time window and has been consistently good. China town good! Better than when they first opened. Last night there was a slight glitch with the order and the wrong dish was delivered. However, David, the manager, handled it like a pro. He apologized and gave me an option of delivering the missing dish, warning it would take up to 45 minutes, or giving me credit. So whatever was delivered to me was taken off the bill. This is what any decent restaurant would and should do, however not a single Chinese restaurant in my neighborhood has ever done this. So big kudos to David for doing the right thing!!! read more

The guys from work wanted to celebrate the new year , someone reccomended The Bund on Queens Blvd. Easy to get to and worth the trip, as the reccomendation went. They where right 100% , for the first time in years everyone showed up on time , We were introduced to David , the onwer , and were immediately seated. We started with a few cold plates each delicious, a cold beer and let David pick our entrees after a few questions. We all shared alla chopstick family style. Classical Shanghai dishes with a new twist and flavor all it's own. Definitely get one of the fish specialties, and a veggie dish is a must. I would also reccomended the jumbo shrimp with green tea leaves, really nicely done. The atmosphere was totally clean casual, so don't be afraid to use you hands to help get the food to where it truely was created to go, in your mouth!! I was the only one to get the green tea ice cream, but everyone wanted a taste , along with the sticky rice ball of scrumptiousness. Get there before you can't get in ( just a suggestion). Dining in is an amazing experience! Being the tofu fanatic I am, I would really suggest the sizzling tofu egg dish. A bowl of rice is complimentary! Many places charge you $1.50/bowl. I always like my foods a certain temperature, and everything came out just right! Ingredients tasted fresh. Perfect place for a date or family dinner! While I don't know how delivery is, I would suggest one to sit in, enjoy the throwback music, and eat some Shanghai cuisine :) read more
