The food: I ordered the skilletz special with French toast, eggs over medium, bacon, and country potatoes - I asked for Extra crispy. The food arrived quickly, maybe too quickly. It looked beautiful, but went south quickly from there. The moment I popped into the yolk it was completely overrun by wet egg white, which makes me nauseous. I hate slimy whites, hence the request for over-medium. I ate maybe 3 bites around the edge and tried to get to some yolk but I was gonna be sick with the river of whites. The bacon was good and crispy. My country potatoes tasted like they'd been scooped out of a bin that had been sitting and steaming for a long while. There was zero crisp to a single bite of it. They had not even warmed them up again. Unfortunately, same goes for the French toast. I can live with the sandwich bread French toast if it has some moisture and flavor. I know some restaurants use plain white bread, but it was cold and dry - not like cooled down because it sat there for a minute; remember, the food came out quickly. If it had been freshly made, it should've been piping hot, but it wasn't even lukewarm - the whipped butter didn't even melt a little (see the pic). In fact, parts of it tasted cold like they make the French toast and potatoes in bulk in the morning and then keep them in a bin and throw some onto a grill to warm up but they didn't warm mine up. The hottest thing out of all of my food was the syrup. I had to douse the toast in syrup to try to warm it up a little bit. Again, maybe 3 bites and done. All in all, I'm sad. It was a real disappointment. The tab was $27+6 for tip.... I expect freshly prepared food at that price. It does look to do good business.
