I have passed by Cake Korner so many times and this time I finally stopped in. I was immediately greeted by a friendly gentleman and was overcome by the amazing smells in the air. I was sold! The cakes sold here are both vibrant and taste amazing. The majority are sold by the slice so you can try one or all of the many types of cake. I couldn't resist so I took two of the mango and one pistachio. Both were delicious! Not too sweet, flavorful and the sponge cake is very moist. We ate them so quickly I couldn't believe it. I can't wait to come back soon to try thier other items. I will most definitely be ordering the whole mango round cake soon to take bring to a friend's home as a gift. Its been more than 4 years now I have been buying their cakes whether it is a birthday party or Anniversaries, welcoming or Farewell, Baby shower or my own engagement ceremony it is our (friends & family) all time favorite shop! They did a beautiful job with a customized full sheet of white forest cake for my sister's baby shower. They worked with me to make sure they made what I asked for. I had a concept for a woodland themed cake and emailed them a few picture examples of what I had in mind. I provided the toppers and they made it happen!!! This is an amazing local business which is south asian owned! They make everything from scratch, so you know it's all fresh! Their puffs are also really good and tasty. They are very flavorful! Ordered a custom cake for my sister's baby shower that was supposed to be for pick up at 4pm. Arrived there and the cake wasnt in the bakery. The guy told me because of the power outage, it wasnt delivered. I had to wait 25 minutes. When i saw the cake, it wasn't what i ordered. The letterings were not in the middle, using pink and blue colors. I will attach a picture of the picture i asked and what i got. The guy offered to refund me $10, but it's not worth even $50. Now, we have no cake for the baby shower, and not even an apology. But i feel better being refunded than taking that cake home. read more

Everyone who works there is very friendly and polite. When inquiring about getting a cake done, I was informed it usually takes 3 to 4 days to get the cake done. However, the person I needed the cake for had their schedule changed and I needed it the next day. Even though I called them at 8pm, they informed they would get on it right away and have it ready for me 5pm the next day. They did a rush order for no extra charge, which was super nice of them. I did make sure to leave a tip. When I picked up the cake they showed it to me to make sure it was to my liking and everything was correct, which it was. 0 ZERO STARS, Came in yesterday July 01, @ around 7p.m. And when i was entered in the store, there's a two women's at the cashier station and no greeted and no smile with the two middle age women when i was entered, and one was standing right next to the stand of pastry and the other one was seating on the table and talking with their own native language. And when i was looking which pastry to buy.? this two women.!!! it was SHOWING THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED TO BE ENGAGED with the customers. I thought this was a new bakery but it looks like the same Indian bakery that was here all along, but maybe with new owners. There's no sign outside. It's in the shopping center on corner of 183rd & Pioneer next to Yogurtland. I was't too impressed with the previous place but thought I'd still give this place a chance to see if anything has changed. Nope, everything is still the same as before. No new flavors and everything tastes like the way they did before. I came back one more time just to make sure. The unique thing about this place is they don't use any eggs in their cakes, which is good for vegans. They also make sugarless cakes but they have to be ordered in advance. The sugarless cakes are made with Splenda so I'm not sure if that's a good thing. Personally I rather have regular sugar than artificial sweetener. The cakes aren't bad but most of the flavors are pretty typical. They have flavors like mango, black forest cake, tiramisu, pistachio, and few others. I tried the last three. All of the cakes were moist and fluffy but the flavors were kind of mild. Black forest was the best out of the three. Tiramisu had a very weak flavor compared to the ones I tried at other places. I usually prefer mine with strong rum and coffee flavor. I really couldn't taste much flavor in pistachio. It tasted more like vanilla cake with little hint of pistachio. They also sell savory items like samosas and Indian style pizzas. These are pre-made and they just heat them up for you when you order. I do remember trying few of these under the previous ownership and they were kind of good. The flavors are definitely different than the usual fare but I wish they would make them fresh instead of reheating them. I may come back to give these another try, but I'm done with the cakes. read more

However, we stumbled onto The Cake Korner when we ordered a takeout biriyani at Paradise and had time to kill waiting for our order to be ready at Paradize. Since then, this has become my go to spot for desi sweets. I like my cakes on the sweeter side, and this joint obliges my indulgences :) More often than not, our order comprises of the following: 1) Curry puff 2) Egg puff 3) 2 or 3 pineapple cakes 4) 1 or 2 Black forest. Total usually is around $20.00 Pros: They have a 2 for $4 puff special going on all the time. That is a good deal. (+1) Pineapple cake with little chunks of pineapple in between is my favorite pastry these days. I would have loved to give them the full 5 stars. The taste of the cake was delicious and moist, got the strawberry flavor, my guests loved it. However, my issue is that they didn't listen to my requests as this was a customized cake. I informed them the cake was a Halloween baby shower theme, the colors were to be lavender and orange border, which they delivered. I had also stated that simple pumpkins or ghosts on top would be fine, as it will make it look like the theme requested. I got none of that, the 1/2 sheet base price was $90 dollars, once I told her my customization she quoted $30.00 extra dollars, I was ok with the price. Upon pick up, saw that it was missing the pumpkins or ghosts, when I informed them of that missing, she seemed upset, and said "well it's too late now to add it". So in essence I paid and extra $30 for the lavender cake and orange border. Side note, I didnt like the extra periods/dots after the baby's name as if it was incomplete. read more
