I ordered the turkey frocaccia and every bite was absolutely delicious. The warm frocaccia bread, the fresh turkey, and the delicious pesto sauce really brought it together. I decided to try this place as I heard some good things. There was 4 of us and a 5 month old so it was nice that it was family friendly l with ample room for the stroller. Plus there was plenty of seating with a few seats outside too. The menu was amazing, we came in for a glass of wine and some cheese, we weren't even hungry but still ended up ordering a chicken pesto sandwich which was very tasty. It came with chips and a small salad. The cheese platter that came with plenty of crackers and garnished grapes which were perfectly paired with a Marietta Zin Barbera. Today for lunch I finally got to check out The Cheeseboard. My friend has been in a bunch of times but I have never. We ordered Grilled Cheese for my friend and I, Cranberry Bean Chili, Tomato Basil Soup, My wife got a Chicken and Basil Pesto on Focaccia Bread and my daughter ordered a Turkey and Swiss. Everything was great, the chili had great flavor, chocked full of meat and beans and was slightly spicy but not too much. The Tomato Basil was one of the nicest ones I've had in Reno. Great flavor, smooth texture and not acidic at all. The Grilled Cheese was fantastic. A couple types of cheese and Sourdough grilled perfectly. It was extremely simple but amazing. Seriously it was the best Grilled Cheese I've ever had. All in all a great quick lunch that was reasonably priced, extremely delicious and very healthy. read more

During these COVID times our small management team has been ordering take out lunch here once a week. The food is outstanding and the menu has options for any palette. The salads are very fresh and large portions. The small salads are perfect for lunch and the dressings are amazing. The sandwiches are delish and the soups pair well. I have had the pleasure of enjoying the food from The Cheese Board through catered lunches at work. This was the first time that I have eaten at the restaurant. The restaurant was clean, and organized. The staff there greeted us when we walked in, provided us menus and assisted us through the ordering and checkout process with a very friendly attitude. My wife and I both ordered the small Orzo pasta with chicken salad with a cup of French Onion Soup. They both tasted great, but we both felt that the salad needed a bit more dressing to counter the dryness of the chickpeas and that the soup needed more cheese and that it should have been on top, not on the bottom of the cup. read more

This was my first time here so if it is going to be yours there are a few thing you need to know. One, you order at the counter, they give you a number then you find a table. Two, the tip is also left at the counter I think, I didn't see anyone leaving it on the table. My mom and I both ordered the Trio which is the perfect plate to taste everything they do. A cup of butternut squash soup, a "mini" grilled cheese (full sandwich with the crust cut off), and a side salad. The soup was great, the grilled cheese was oooey goooey and crispy, and the salad was perfect. House made honey vinaigrette, mixed greens, dried cranberries, mandarin orange slices and slivered almonds. We were both stuffed and it was perfectly priced at $10.95. Being right down the street from the office, we visit the Cheese Board pretty frequently. It's a great lunch option when you want "lunch food" but something more than just a deli. The menu changes daily but they also have a standard menu to choose from. Others have mentioned that it can get busy at lunch, which is true, but I've never had an issue with ordering and having enough time to eat before my lunch hour is up. It can get loud inside when the tables fill up but they have outdoor dining as well. Besides just lunch type food including soup, salads, and sandwiches, they also have a selection of specialty cheese, wines and handmade desserts. Get the lemon bar - and you're welcome! We thought there would be more of a wine selection, 3 types of wine isn't what we were expecting( A little expensive too for the quality at $11 a glass, we're winos) but we obliged and gave it a try anyway. The charcuterie board was a bit underwhelming for the price of $20. A big salad in the middle with no dressing. A side of Jam and Mustard, olives, sweet pickles, bread and crackers. The meat was amazing! The dry lettuce was a little confusing, but maybe that was what the jam was for? I'm not sure maybe we'll try something else next time. I have been missing the concept of a good charcuterie board since March and decided to treat myself to a box for my birthday. I used the online ordering service and was pleased to see that they were offering free delivery (in a certain radius) in the month of January. I placed my order on the weekend for a Wednesday and called it good. Much to my surprise, my delivery showed up on my doorstep on Monday. No biggie, I hadn't figured out my lunch plan for the day so was happy to dig in a couple days early. On Tuesday I received a call from The Cheese Board with an apology as they had discovered that they had delivered my order early and they were so kind to offer another delivery free of charge so that I could have my birthday board. This was incredibly kind of them, especially without my prompting them in any way and thus they've more than secured my business for a future visit. It was nice and cool inside which was nice as it was over 100 degrees today. Food: My mother-in-law ordered the grilled cheese and macaroni salad. I had their heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad with purple onions and balsamic vinaigrette. This was also served with a small house salad of mixed greens. Both were great! I like their menu as it has the options for smaller portions, like a half salad and half soup combo. We chose to dine in and snagged the last orzo pasta salad with chicken, which was big enough to share between our two not so big appetites at the time. To be more specific, the salad was served over organic baby spinach with grilled marinated chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, fresh rosemary, scallions, chopped parsley, garlic, lemon, toasted walnuts and crumbled feta cheese with balsamic vinaigrette. I've never had a meal that I didn't love! My favorite little gem is a chocolate, salted caramel cookie for dessert. Great place for lunch with slightly smaller portions than many at lower costs ($8-$12 for most on menu). Seating both inside and out with servers bringing food and real silverware and napkins. The quiche of the day is a must have. It was perfectly cooked and the pie crust was flaky and delicious. I got the side salad with it which was fresh and tasty. They have a great selection of wines, not the grocery store brands, thank goodness. I had a Nainamo bar for dessert. I was so happy that they make it. It was one of the best I've had. They only make it in the Fall. There is plenty of seating for groups. There is a couple small tables outside for a party of 2. They have a parking lot off to the side for free parking.
