We actually were fortunate enough to eat here twice on vacation. It was a very good place to eat. On Monday nights they have All You Can Eat Crab Legs. I think my husband and I ate about 6 plates of them. They were cooked to perfection. They pulled so easy out of the shells. YUM! We came back later in the week and I was going to order Shrimp. But... I just couldn't resist Crab Legs again. They were still as good as the ones on Monday night. My husband had fish and he also enjoyed that. The service and drinks were also good. And there's a great aquarium at the front of the restaurant. They don't take reservations but they do have Call Ahead seating. That definitely cuts down on the wait time. My husband and I both wish they had more of a variety of food on the menu. Also I wish they served baked potatoes. I'd have rather had that than the mashed potatoes. But.... don't forget to come on Mondays for the Crab Legs. So worth the money. read more

Place was packed. Had to wait about 50 minutes. Ordered the crab nachos because so many suggested them. They were okay. On the cold side. Server said they are served cold (crab and toppings) except for warm cheese on top so just an fyi. I had the crab cake sandwich which was good;it was fried, not broiled. Son had sirloin which was good and cooked correctly ($28). Mashed potatoes nothing to write home about at all, resembled a school cafeteria style. Husband had lobster roll. Small but looked good. We got in at 5pm and all indoor seating was already full (we were a party of 2)-- only spot open was outside on back deck at the high tops which was still a nice experience with the breeze, however, if you have a larger party would suggest getting there even earlier since you can't make a reservation and i overhead customers saying it would be at least a 45 min- 1 hour wait. OK so we started off with an appetizer of calamari which game with three different types of sauces. That was a good starter. There's like 60 different types of Microbrews to choose from. We ordered a soft crab sandwich and a lobster roll. The lock for Rall had nothing but lobster with one full amount of meat. After attempting to eat at Drunkin Jacks (which had 1.5 hrs wait, but the party of 6 in front of us was 45min) we walked to The Claw House, and I'm very glad we did. We were immediately greeted by a wonderful hostess that took our reservations on a mobile phone wait system. We only waited 17min, in that time we ordered drinks at the bar, very reasonably priced. The waitress was very nice and we had ordered so much food, all the dishes were great. I had the short rib dinner which the waitress was surprised they had not sold out yet, I guess I was lucky because it was delicious. The fried fish nuggets were not too heavily fried. Fried calamari must have have been made on site. Grouper stack reported to be good. The surf and turf tacos is a must try and surf and turf skewers were cooked well. Grilled seafood platter was awesome. Great food coupled with a cool atmosphere and friendly staff makes this place something to check out. read more

I love to go to the claw house because they have a fantastic tuna poke bowl served with these delicious fried wontons, it's really filling. And they have a great beer selection, usually having my favorite mango cart on draft but it's also an awesome place if you like oysters plus it's beautiful atmosphere and in the MarshWalk. read more

The Claw House changed their rules to NO DOGS because of too many bad behaving ones. First there was no mention of the rule change and we set out to meet a few people for a dinner with our pup and was turned away. Secondly, thank you to all the Ill behaved dog owners. We take pride with our well behaved dog but yet again it is ruined. Lastly, we didn't get a dog to leave it home alone. I always felt Dead Dog Saloon was one of the most overrated (and poor quality food) restaurants in Murrells Inlet, so I was not looking forward to coming to The Claw House which is under same ownership. Walking in, the interior is very clean, modern, warm and inviting. The dining area is uncluttered with comfortable tables and seating. Biscuits served before appetizers were tasty but too dry, so they required butter. My pork shank wings appetizer was cooked perfectly but the sauce was too sweet; I felt like I was eating orange chicken. Why not just use a normal sauce. The menu says "buffalo bbq sauce"...not even close. Mains were excellent; I had chicken and waffles, both flavorful on their own before adding syrups or sauces. I also tasted other dishes from my family which included various pastas and fish dishes, and nacho appetizer, most very good. The alfredo sauce in the pastas were a little off though - almost tasted like eggnog. Honestly was surprised with the quality of food. Some dishes were perfect and 5-star, but some had unusual qualities that sadly force me to give this restaurant 4 stars. We went to the Claw House after a half day boat trip out of Crazy Sister Marina. The Claw House is conveniently located in the same parking lot as the marina and was able to seat our group of 9 for lunch right away. We started with the Crab Nachos which were amazing. They had a good amount of crab on them and the fried wonton chips they served it on were the perfect choice for these nachos. The menu has a great selection of seafood and non-seafood items which works well for a large group. For my meal I started with a bloody mary which was delicious and ate the shrimp tacos for my lunch. Wow! Just wow... for a second time. Came all the way back to this place for the beautiful quiet beach and The Claw House's Nachos....we were not disappointed. Amongst a crazy amount of traffic we were sat right away. Our server Angela was very efficient and nice. She knew the menu and was able to make suggestions. Delicious seafood! We come to the beach every summer and like to try new places. We were certainly not disappointed with the Claw House especially since we happened upon Happy Hour. The HR menu has quite a few appetizers with great prices and that's what we chose. My twin girls loves the pretzel bites because they were almost like a combination of pretzels And donuts. The Lobster Bisque has clumps of yummy lobster and the surf and turf skewers melted in my mouth. My husband was the only one who ordered an actual meal and he got The Lobster salad roll. My girls love Mac and cheese but they didn't particularly like the kids Mac and cheese. Too fancy for them. We would definitely go back but during Happy Hour for Those great prices. read more

Not only is the Clawhouse located right near the marsh (great views!), it also has plenty of free parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We loved our waiter Sean who was very friendly, attentive, and willing to indulge us in all the questions we had when we had trouble choosing what to order. A fair warning that the portion sizes here are BIG. The mussells and crab nachos (both phenomenal) that we ordered could've probably just been a meal for the 4 of us on their own. I didn't enjoy my surf and turf tacos all that much; they weren't bad but they also weren't all that special. I think the chorizo made the taco a little to salty for my tastebuds. The rest of our dishes were also good, but we struggled to finish all of them because of the generous portions. It's a good thing there's a path right behind the restaurant to walk off all that food after your meal. My disappointment was with the food. Peel & Eat Shrimp was hyped and yes they were large but so tough. Overcooked! And the Crab Stack was inedible.
