They had flavors like melon tea, rice-scented tea, and various types of oolong, red, black, and green teas. I was so excited when Chagee opened up and started expanding in LA. I finally stopped by while at the Century City mall, and the inside of the shop is very similar to the ones in China. Modern with classic tea house elements, easy app ordering, and a screen showing how many orders they're working on and which orders are ready for pickup. Staff were generally friendly. Sadly, Chagee got Americanized whether due to market popularity or logistics with getting certain teas in the US, couldn't tell ya. They have 1 of each type of tea: jasmine, oolong, black, Ceylon. You can add milk or add lemon lol. The teas are great and very fragrant--I don't know what determines what kind of cup an iced tea or tea latte comes in (their standard Chagee cup or a ridiculously large plastic cup, maybe 20oz)--the regular cups with the triple straw is the best. Like others said, I think that Molly Tea is better. My fiancé thought his peach tea was quite watered down. My citrus matcha teafresher wasn't very well balanced, with the matcha not standing out and a very strong citrus flavor that overpowered the drink. A pass for me. read more

I've been to CHAGEE Modern Tea House a few times & have always been happy with my experience. Y'all that waited in several hour lines when it opened are wild! I could never! However now that the shop has been open nearly a year, the lines are manageable. It's literally taken this long for the hype to die down a bit! It actually didn't take too long to get through the line to order, but it took quite some time for our drinks to be ready. I tried both the Jasmine Green Boya Tea Latte (their bestseller - a delicate floral aroma and smooth, silky finish) and Peach Oolong Tea Latte (refreshing and aromatic fusion of floral oolong and white peach). While the drinks were not bad, they didn't taste like anything special either. Something I wish I knew sooner is that Chagee has their own app. If you download it and sign up for a rewards account, you can get a coupon. Visited Chagee with my partner as we were both interested in the hype of Chagee Tea. Some PROs is that the shop itself is very clean, floral vibe, and more like a tea lounge more than anything. Very modern like their store name. Since it was our first time, we signed up for the 15% off code stated. However, the cashier stated that we couldn't use it since - quote; "The code takes awhile to show up since you just signed up." Due to this, we just ordered as usual. Pretty disappointing that we were unable to use it even though it's advertised by the ordering spot. The drinks overall were average at best. The peach oolong tasted a bit watery and the peach wasn't really noticeable in the drink. The Boya Tea Latte is decent but nothing over the top. I do appreciate the unique cup designs as they're pretty unique. The cups itself is sturdy and non spillable which is great. Overall, due to the horrendous parking at Century City and a average first time experience, I find it hard to come back just for Chagee. I visited this Chagee location when they were still soft opening and before they opened their second location. This is definitely popular amongst those who are brand focused as their to go bags and cups have that "Toile de Jouy" design that people associate with Dior. They were having a deal where you if you download their app and mobile order you get a slight discount. Line was quite long, and not that many seats inside, but there were some outside and people just picked up their drinks to leave. By the time we were there in the evening, all the baked goods were sold out, but they had other goods on sale while you're waiting in line to take a look at, like candles, etc. I know this is a newer trend with a lot of Chinese franchises (you see this with Auntea Jenny, Molly Tea, etc), but the first time I saw it was at Chagee and it was those trio flute thin straws that make you sip slower and to truly enjoy the tea. I got to try their Boya Tea Latte, Peach Oolong Tea Latte, Roasted Oolong Tea Latte, and the Peach Oolong Pure Tea. Definitely get the any of the peach teas if you're a peach fan, nice strong peach flavor without tasting artificial or like lotion, followed by the subtle roasted tea flavor. Delicious. You're paying a little more than you would at other shops, but you're also getting a much higher quality product so I think it is very justifiable. I've been so excited to try CHAGEE because I heard it's super popular in China. Right from the start I knew this tea house would be more like the tea house chains originating from outside America. The interior was so minimalist and everything was made of wood - it felt clean. It took a while for us to get our drinks but that's expected since it's so popular. The black tea was my absolute favorite - it just had such a pleasing strong aromatic flavor. The jasmine was just ok - def not as fragrant as other tea houses from China. This chain coming from China has set up a record of selling the most boba tea in China, named Boya 伯牙琴弦,a jasmine flavored green tea, so I decided to give it a try. With $6.53 for a regular size, the milk tea is just average To my taste. I asked for zero sugar which is a plus as not every milk tea shop offers zero sugar drinks. If you enjoy the super modern ambiance and decide to chill here for an afternoon when in the shopping mall, maybe this is a place worth stopping. I've heard so much about Chagee in recent times so I decided to try them out on a Saturday afternoon. I have no idea what I was expecting. The line was out the door for those who were attempting to place an order in-person and also mixed up with those waiting for their online orders. There were 82 cups ahead of me. I kid you not. My order was supposedly going to become ready in 118 minutes. The awkward long wait was horrific. I got to watch people have meltdowns. Drinks were piled up on the to-go shelf and in-person order pickup area. Some didn't know their online orders were ready on the shelf and apparently waited for nearly 2hrs. They stormed out angry. I can't blame them. My drinks became available after nearly an hour wait on standby. The caramel tea latte was way too sweet and much too melted by the time I received it. My peach oolong tea latte tasted diluted and nothing to write home about. The pure chaotic pickup process and the very underwhelming drink quality makes me not want to return ever again. I still don't understand what the hype is all about at Chagee, but I can confidently say now.....it's not worth the wait. Just go to Knotted across the corridor for much easier, faster, and 100x better experience in both service quality and food/drink quality. They make wonderful matcha lattes and their donuts are not too sweet. Best of all, wait time is nonexistent. read more
