Honestly, even though the shock sauce they provide is very tasty and creamy, I could have eaten these tenders without any sauces at all. The flavor was just that astronomical. What surprised me the most though was the waffles. Usually chicken places half effort the waffles In a chicken and waffle dish, but the waffle part of this fish is a star in its own right. Finally stopped into The Cookshack today and was throughly impressed. The service really was noteworthy from the moment I walked in, which isn't something you'd typically say about a 'fast casual' counter-service kind of place. I was immediately struck by how I was welcomed by every employee as I walked in the door, the meticulously clean environment, and the attentiveness of employees. I mentioned it was my first time to visit the restaurant when I was about to place my order, and the gentleman ("Saul," if I remember correctly), gave me a thorough explanation of the menu offerings and general setup of what comes with what, heat/spice levels, etc. I honestly don't think I've ever had this kind of attention to detail at a fast casual spot. While sitting at my table waiting for my order to arrive (which was super fast, btw) I found myself making a mental note to remember to write a review, because I was so impressed. As my food arrived, I thought "oh that's right, you haven't even tasted the food yet, don't put the cart before the horse." And the food 100% solidified the positive experience. Really large and delicious chicken fingers with excellent taste and spice (you can order at different levels of heat). I chose medium, and it was just right, for me. The Diablo fries (think: seasoned, slightly spicy but not at all "hot" spicy, french fries) were also very tasty. I was even checked on during my brief meal to make sure everything came out the way I liked it. I also felt like the value was good for the money, especially in light of how insanely expensive food as inflated to lately. There were plenty of "thank you"s as I left, and I'd say the only negative thing I can think of, is that now that I know how great this place is, I'm going to crave it every week! read more

The chicken sandwich was super fresh and the patty was SO moist, but still with plenty of crunch on the outside. The slaw on the sandwich was also crunchy and tangy and, along with the pickle slices, really enhanced the sandwich. The heat level was spot on for me, too! Hot to the point of mild discomfort, but still able to keep going. My husband enjoyed the ribs and commented on the size of the portion, especially considering it was half of a rack. They have chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches and ribs. Certainly a step above McDs chicken nuggets and you can control the spice level all the way to "hot." But neither the chicken nor the ribs were hot from the oven. The nuggets were pretty big. The sweet potato waffle fries were good but were merely warm. The mac & cheese was really sticky. For adult chicken strips, I'd prefer Cane's. But if you are really looking for a sports bar, this is the place. Lots of TVs and some alcoholic drinks are here. Ultra casual. Meanwhile, if you get the 5-piece chicken tenders for $13.50, you still only get one free side. Sides are $3 each, making the two tacos less than $5.50! Each taco had about one full chicken tender sliced up in it. The dragon fries look like normal fries, but upon close inspection, you can see the seasoning. They have a garlic and spicy flavor that slowly builds up. Unfortunately, we did not particularly enjoy the salad, which we were hoping would have chunks of fried chicken in it but instead had shreds of normal chicken. This was our second time to go. Highly recommend the cook shack salad. The meat is thinly sliced and the salad comes dressed so it's easy to get a perfect combo bite.
