First time visiting Seattle and first time having a crumpet and wow I have been missing out on how delicious crumpets are. This cute little shop has 2 entrances and a few tables to eat at. If you get certain drinks IE ice tea you get free refills while you're in the shop. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The crumpet was a nice texture with a wonderful maple honey flavor. My only regret is not having time to come back to try more items as I wasn't very hungry when we visited. This will be a must stop at when in town.
I didn't realize how popular this place was. Upon going in the staff was very rude, no hello just told me to "wait over there." I should have left at that point. I ordered 1 crumpet. The bottom was so hard it was like eating a cracker. The persevere had absolutely no sugar in it. These were nothing like the ones I have had in the UK or yet even at other restaurants.

I think the Crumpet Shop excels at being one of the cutest and most affordable themed eateries in Pike Place. They have lots of English classics, including crumpets and tea. They also have some more unique items on the menu, such as the Seattle Crumpet. I gave it a try and enjoyed the soft crumpet with the tender scrambled egg and savory ham. Very tasty and a great little snack. They also sell their crumpets to-go, though I am sure the fresh ones are still better. They also sell their famous lemon curd, which I did not try, but was told it is very popular. There are a few small tables inside, but the space is fairly small. Worth a try, but there is so much to try at Pike Place, I recommend sticking to something small from the Crumpet Shop.

Irish breakfast 5/5, solid black tea with beautiful spice w unlimited refills, I stayed for a bit to finish this and threw away the cup but I do wonder if you're able to leave and come back to refill Lemon crumpet 4/5, chose this one upon cashier recommendation as a popular choice here, good but definitely pricy for the size
My son loves crumpets, and we usually buy them from Trader Joe's, so getting to try fresh crumpets at The Crumpet Shop was a real treat! We stopped by for breakfast while exploring the area, and its location is perfect--just a short walk from Pike Place Market, the Gum Wall, and the Seattle Aquarium. The crumpets were absolutely delicious: soft, fluffy, and light in the center with a slightly crisp and airy exterior. You can really taste the difference when they're made fresh. We ordered the egg, cheese, and ham crumpet, a buttered crumpet, a honeyed crumpet, and The Walrus, which is topped with ricotta, honey, and walnuts. Everything was fantastic, but The Walrus was especially memorable with the creamy ricotta, sweet honey, and crunchy walnuts creating the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The shop itself is small and cozy, with a few indoor seats as well as outdoor seating. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by the wonderful aroma of freshly made crumpets, making it hard not to order one of everything. If you're visiting Seattle or exploring Pike Place Market, this is a must-stop breakfast spot. Fresh crumpets are a rare treat, and The Crumpet Shop does them exceptionally well!
I took my parents here because I enjoyed my last visit so much and felt they needed to experience it! To drink, I had an iced honey lavender latte. The flavors were balanced, it wasn't too sweet, and so creamy and refreshing. My mom had The Crumpet Shop tea blend and my dad had a hot coffee. Both were great! To eat, I had their special sweet crumpet, the blueberry pie crumpet. The blueberry compote had delightful texture and was sweet but tart. The cream complemented the blueberry and crumpet nicely. My mom had the lemon & ricotta crumpet and my dad ate the maple butter crumpet. Those crumpets were also tasty! We sat outside as we were visiting with our dog. They have a few tables out front that served as a nice place to sit and enjoy our beverages and crumpets. Everything was served promptly and the staff was friendly. Definitely check out The Crumpet Shop!
I've lived in WA State since Sept 1973 and walked past the OG Crumpet Shop at Pike Place Market a gazillion times. This business has been established since 1976. I've actually stopped in their Edmonds location first, lol. Nevertheless, it has been in existence for fifty years! For some reason on this chilly Monday (2/16/26), I decided to stop in since I noticed there was not a line and some onsite seating available. I ordered a fresh griddled crumpet that was buttered and topped with strawberry preserves. After a brief wait, I received my order. Halved and placed on a saucer. Straightforward, but really hit the spot. Flavorful where the butter had melted in the tiny holes or flutes, plus the added preserves was just right and not cloying. This was pillowy in comparison to an English muffin. The menu features quite a variety of sweet and savory, traditional and inventive crumpets, plus a nice selection of hot tea to accompany one's crumpet. Pleasant detour while visiting Pike Place Market!
Before moving to Seattle I vacationed here and fell in love. One place I checked pit was the crumpet shop. A shop dedicated to fresh off the griddle crumpets, yes! The simple crumpet with butter and honey is impeccable, but since then I've had the pesto and tomatoes crumpet and the lemon curd with ricotta. None have disappointed! One thing to not is even while they face 1st street they close down at 4pm, which is a bummer. A good way to end your time at Pike Place Mkt is to get a crumpet then meander over to Pike Place Chowder for an award winning cup or bowl. Their line is always so long but catching right before they close you never have a line. Remember a crumpet at closing and a seafood chowder for a bowl of take out.

I think the offering is really cool for those who have never had crumpets, and as a tea lover, I loved the fact that it was self-serve and I could drink however much I wanted. Their signature blend was very good as reviews promised, but so were all the others, too! A few milk options! Loved the cheerful yellow coloring and thought the sign was super cute. The cons: it was hard to navigate the inside when it was crowded. There weren't any lids for the hot cups, so navigating through Pike Place was a bit scary without them. I think we also were only given one cup sleeve, too. Hopefully they're better stocked in the future!

Every time I come to Seattle, I must make the pilgrimage to The Crumpet Shop. It's always busy, but the smell of crumpets and tea warms my English heart. The Crumpet Shop blend of tea is amazing and my favorite blend. The lemon curd crumpet was wonderful and I wish I'd had time to stay for another and a refill or twenty. I did get some to go, but they don't offer bags and their totes were $35 so that is my only complaint. I look forward to my next trip! read more

Have never had a crumpet before so I like the concept of this place a lot. I got the ricotta lemon curd one and it was good but overpowered the crumpet. The crumpet was warm too which I did really like. I think I should have got a simple one with butter so I could rlly taste the crumpet. It was very small and almost 9$. Definitely overpriced and not really worth it. I am glad I tried it once though. read more

This shop was high on our list to try and overall it did not disappoint. We tried several different savory and sweet options and all were delicious! My only complaint is the price point being a little high. The shop is small so we arrived close to 8am and were able to grab seating for six right at the front. I am glad we didn't arrive later as business picked up as we were leaving. Servers were quick with the orders and beverage orders. I ordered a matcha latte and was happily satisfied. Have you ever had a crumpet?? I hadn't. And boy was I missing out. On a family outing, my daughter came out with a Maple Butter Crumpet and declared it the best thing ever!! So naturally I had to try it. We opted for 2 crumpets, the Maple Butter and Smoked Salmon with Cucumber. They are meant to be eaten with your hands. Can do!! The Maple Butter was heavenly. The crumpet is soft with a bit of a crispy bottom. Delightful really. The smoked salmon was flavorful, but not overly, and had crisp cucumber on top. How have I never been there. To describe a crumpet, think of it as a soft toasted English muffin. You can top it any way you like, sweet jams or savory. I really enjoy cream cheese on any kind of carb so I opted for the salmon cream cheese. They had a few extra toppings as part of their spring menu special so I opted to have it topped with capers, everything but the bagel seasoning and pickled onions. Pretty tasty combo! We came around 3pm, so no line and plenty of seating. It's a small place, just a few small tables and a bar with a few bar stools. You can get tea or coffee with your crumpet. If you feel compelled to bring some home for your friends you can buy a bag of crumpets and bring them home. I'm sure they'll taste good once they're heated up. I thought $8.75 was steep for my crumpet but it wasn't a trip to Pike Place Market without trying it. read more
This little spot is a must to check out while in the area. We had the opportunity to try a real life crumpet! I had a crumpet with pesto and cheese.... soooo amazing! We were the first people in the building that morning so I have no complaints about service. Staff were friendly and helpful in explaining what was on the menu and providing recommendations. I'll most definitely be back for breakfast next time I'm in town. Wish I had gotten a picture of my food but I was so enthralled with the cool mural on the back wall. read more
I decided to go with The Walrus Crumpet. The crumpet was light and fluffy. The ricotta, honey and walnuts complimented each other wonderfully. The crumpet was a little on the small side but the generous helping of honey made up for it. Super cute and unique spot! You could see them making the crumpets, and that freshness definitely pays off. They do have nuts on the menu but were able to change gloves and wipe down the surface for my fiance who has nut allergies. We tried a buttered crumpet and a Seattle crumpet. Both were great--truly a perfect spot for a light breakfast in the area, and a bit different from your usual American fare! read more
After years of wondering what exactly a crumpet is, I finally got my answer of all places in Seattle. The Crumpet Shop is well known and has a street facing entrance on first ave, so no hilly climb or descent to eat here. We actually stopped in here twice during our stay for breakfast because it was so quick and convenient. I got the smoked salmon cream cheese topped with fresh cucumbers and it was light yet filling at the same time. Also there is endless refills on tea and coffee. My bf got himself a bowl of groats which he enjoyed- he did say it was a bit more sweet than he anticipated so next time he got it he asked to leave out the brown sugar. Definitely would recommend people stop by here if they are near Pike Place. A lot of the other establishments get the shine, but this place is just as deserving. read more

3.5/5 stars I got the egg, cheese, and tomato crumpet. It was overall enjoyable because I love anything with eggs and cheese! The crumpet itself didn't have much flavor, so maybe a sauce would have been good. It was kind of like a thicker English muffin. It was fun to try, but not sure I would get it again. read more

It was the perfect snack after checking into our hotel, and before taking on Pike Place Market. It's an iconic fixture on 1st Avenue. There are two entrances. The 2nd entrance is across the street and to the left from the famous Public Market sign. It was a shop that I remember seeing on my first business trip to Seattle. I bookmarked it because I didn't want to miss out on it this time around. We both decided to get The Vermont Crumpet. It's aptly named given the ingredients: maple butter, cream cheese, and walnuts. I'm not sure that it's a "Life Changer" but it certainly qualified as a good quality snack on an early afternoon. These crumpets are freshly baked daily. I don't remember the ones in the UK being as good when we were stationed there. Sorry to say. Everyone talks about the tea here. I think it would have been better in the morning. Our iced tea (the Crumpet Shop Blend) was a little bitter, but not a deal breaker. It's a refillable cup. It was actually quite refreshing after walking from our hotel to the Waterfront. The service at the counter was good. We received our order rather quickly. The seating is limited. I'd place a takeout order next time. There's lots of bench seating in designated areas around the market with better views. It's a unique café. I'll give it that. My sister and I were just passing through and stopped by the crumpet shop and so holy we did. I didn't know what a crumpet was but I'm obsessed now. We got the dessert crumpet soooo delicious! And the matcha is sooo delicious as well read more
I have been wanting to check out the Crumpet Shop at Pike's Place market, because I love crumpets and was curious about having them with a variety of toppings. I was pleasantly surprised with all of the options, sweet and savory. I went for the Vermont option which has cream cheese, maple, and walnuts. It was really good! I also got a Cortada that was pretty good. Everything was very fresh. The only caveat would be that this place is super popular, so it took awhile to get my order. They do have some tables if you want to sit and eat yours there, but I had other places to be! read more

Of course we had to try The Crumpet Shop because it's one of the highly known Pike Place tourist traps. If you're looking for a tasty light snack and can afford some time to kill, I'd recommend it. The wait was pretty long after we ordered and there was almost no seating, so we took it to-go. We ordered the Mickey Rourke and the Vermont for a sweet and savory combo. The Mickey Rourke contains egg, English cheese, jalapeño peppers, ham, and cream cheese. It was light and good, but I'm a heavy sauce/flavor type of gal so I really wish I had gotten some hot sauce that was available on the counter before we left, to add onto and take it to the next level. The Vermont has maple butter, walnuts, and cream cheese. Given that it's coined as "The Life Changer" I'd say that this was false advertisement. It was a bit too sweet and heavy, and even my husband couldn't finish this one even though he has more of a sweet tooth. read more
Another amazing trip to the famous crumpet shop. A big shout out to Stella for her excellent service. And Luke for his excellent attention to detail in the scone wrapping and crumpet preparing. Margo is making some excellent chai and espresso. The energy here is great. The food is fabulous. They've kept the same crumpet recipe. You won't be disappointed. I'm really glad I came! I liked both crumpets. The lemon curd and ricotta crumpet was delightful; I liked how loaded with toppings it was. The crumpet with preserve was high quality as well. To drink I ordered the house blend tea and I really liked it. One complaint: the printed laminated menus that you read in line didn't list butter as one of the toppings on the preserve-topped crumpet. BUT IT DOES IN FACT HAVE BUTTER. This is stated in the big menu over the counter, but that menu is only visible after you've already ordered. My lactose intolerant boyfriend ordered it because he thought it would be safe but alas! And so I ate it instead. read more
We ran across this place while exploring Pike Place Market. It's a small family owned & run crumpet shop. I honestly never had a crumpet before but based on the crowd I figure it was worth trying. There was a variety of both sweet& savory topping to choose from. I went simple with a creamy cheese topping. My husband ordered the ham, cheese, and tomato. Both were delicious! Similar to an English muffin, crunchy on the outside but thicker and bit spongy. That along with a good cup of Seattle coffee made the perfect midday snack. The crumpets here are delicious. From the simple buttered crumpet to the full on savory crumpets, you can't go wrong; as long as you're not ordering something that you don't eat. The crumpets are the best that I've had and I only wished I got more to take home. There's online shipping order available but the shipping cost is high due to the crumpets being shipped fresh and not frozen. It was busy when we got there, but the line move fairly quickly and wasn't too bad. Due to the small store, it feels crowded and if you can't find a place to seat, go on ride out and seat elsewhere as there's public seating all around pike market. read more

Probably not too bad. In Seattle you do a lot of walking up hill, so what ever the calorie count is, it is worth it, and you will burn off the calories.
