Dropped by on Tuesday after the Christmas weekend. Very busy but we were seated quickly. Waited about 10 minutes to have somebody ask us if we wanted coffee. Finally our waiter arrived and he did everything that he could to serve everyone in a timely manner. He worked hard. Our orders were done properly. My wife had 2 eggs, bacon and blueberry pancakes! Most excellent! My order of eggs over easy (just a bit over cooked), bacon, sausage and ham, with the most amazing home fries. ALWAYS ORDER THE SAUSAGE! ATTENTION DINERS! It's nice that they don't rush you thru your dining, however, there were 3 tables of people who were finished when we sat down, and they were still chatting when we left. Unfortunately, they were taking servers away from new diners and refilling their endless "could you refill my water glass?" - again not the servers fault... It's a rough time for places to get workers, so treat them with care and kindness! read more

Well i found this place on Yelp Saw good reviews great pics and wanted a great place to Take wifey for a little Anniversary Brunch since we didn't get to the other day . Went today 11/3/22 ,To begin great little spot greeted as soon as we walked in and seated immediately. Had a nice little booth nice comfy cozy place . Lots of good stuff on the menu i wanna try more but today was breakfast. Wife started with the great looking Hot Coco and she said was delicious. I had the Bacon Avocado Benedict w/ hashbrowns , it was delicious. Bacon was nice and crispy perfect egg , great hollandaise sauce. Recommend! Wife had the Southern Benedict w/ Home style potatoes and enjoyed very much. Its pretty filling so she took home and had rest of it later lol. We got the french toast to split . I had a couple of them and enjoyed very much . I like mine with just butter and powder sugar and they were delicious. Love french toast . The Place is nice little spot close to home and reasonably priced too. Also on receipt, it says if you pay with cash you will get a 3.5% discount. Noticed only on receipt. I've been enjoying The Cup Cafe for years. It's just around the corner from my office and who doesn't enjoy having breakfast for lunch? This was exactly my thought this morning when I had to be in the office very early and I didn't get a chance to grab breakfast. Chicken fried steak for lunch? I don't mind if I do! I took a coworker who also enjoys The Cup and in we went. The Cup resembles a country kitchen on one side and a classic diner on the other. Both sides serve the same good food delivered by a well-seasoned staff who is always on point. While walking in I noticed the daily specials. One of them was homemade corned beef hash and eggs -- my second favorite breakfast combo. Decisions, decisions... I ultimately chose the hash while my dining companion chose the chicken fried steak. The hash came with two eggs which I had poached, crispy hash browns, and a big fluffy biscuit accompanied by a bowl of sausage gravy. It was a good thing I was really hungry. The hash was simple but perfectly prepared. Crispy chunks of corned beef mixed with little nuggets of fried potatoes easily soaked up the runny yolks of the poached eggs. It was nothing short of brilliant. I have only had hash this good at my favorite breakfast/bbq place (I'm sure you can guess which one). On a whim, I asked for a small cup of Hollandaise for my hash browns. I'd had the Hollandaise here before, but this was different. It was creamy, smooth, and had a definite hit of lemon. This did NOT come out of a packet. I asked our server if it was made from scratch. The server admitted they started with a pre-made base, but added their own touch to it. This really got my attention. It was so close to perfect Hollandaise that I didn't care it wasn't technically from scratch. Clearly something has changed for the better at The Cup. If you've tried the food here before, try it again and soon. In one meal they shot from being in my Top 20 breakfast places to Top 3. Seriously impressive food. I cannot wait to bring The Boss here. She is going to lose her fuzzy little mind. The only thing which can make great food better is to share it with someone you love. This is worth sharing. read more

Alas, my breakfast was disappointing: bland hollandaise, super sweet ham, and cold hash browns were not very appetizing. I have been sleeping on cup cafe ! This is my new favorite spot for breakfast. We Stopped by after the balloon races and ordered a breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich and kids French toast. My wife found this place looking for a breakfast spot before our flight out of Reno, and "OH, what a fine!!" This place is a gem! Very warm welcome and was quickly seated, even though the restaurant was packed. I had the Tuscan Scramble, my wife had the Feta Scramble, and our son tried the Southern Scramble... all deliciously excellent! The biscuits are DE-lish - super fluffy and buttery. We also had mimosas, which came out looking like we were dining @ The Ritz! The champagne flutes were quite impressive and they tasted exceptional! What really set this place apart was the service! From the hostess, to the kitchen staff, to our amazing server (whose name escapes me but she was a very attractive redhead) they made you feel very welcomed and like valued guests. The Cup Café is a family-owned restaurant serving breakfast and lunch. My husband and I stopped by here recently during lunch hours. It was a busy day so we opted to sit at the counter instead of waiting for a table. From the counter, we could watch the cooks at work. A server quickly gave us water and menus. I love Huevos Rancheros and decided to get that while my husband went for the Ortega Turkey Melt. For me, the Huevos Rancheros were a bit of a disappointment in flavor. There is another place in town that (for me) has the best Huevos Rancheros and they set the bar - so I would get something else if we come here again. This was our first time coming here. My husband and I decided that we wanted to give it a try. It is so cute and bright on the inside of the restaurant. It reminds me of being in my grandmas house, so cute and homey. We were seated right away, and had good service for the most part. Our waitress seemed as though we were bothering her being there. We were in the middle of eating, and she dropped off our check without asking if we were done or wanted anything else. We felt very rushed by that, but nothing else was negative. I got one of the scrambles, and sour dough toast. It was great, it had a lot of flavor, and was cooked just the way that I like it. Just wow! This place was delicious. Very busy mid-morning, but people were moving through quickly. I ordered the French toast with bacon topping. The perfect combo of sweet and salty. Absolutely loved it. The best part was they didn't skimp on the bacon topping. There was plenty and I was impressed by that. The staff were all friendly. Every patron in there seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were two sides once you got in there. We sat in a booth closest to the parking lot side. It was right by the window and had beautiful light coming in. I loved seeing the counter serving folks that were seated there. It had a true welcoming down home feel. The food came out quick and hot. The Cup is a small but mighty breakfast cafe. I knew it was going to popular since the small parking lot was full. There was a huge sign in the waiting area that apologized for the wait due to being short staffed. We were seated in a booth near the kitchen. Click! Clank! Simmer! You can hear and see the chef cooking away behind the counter. We were basically sitting in the kitchen along with others, as if we were VIP. Even though we were close to the grill, it was not hot. The only complaint is that the chef was really loud. Constantly hitting the grill aggressively. The food was pretty good. This cafe is definitely one of the better breakfast places in town. The portions are large and everything was flavorful. We ordered: half order Apple strudel pancakes with side order of egg and sausage, biscuit and gravy with hash browns and sausage, and kids chocolate pancakes. This place is good. They were not super great about masks (which for me, is important) during the pandemic, but I always just got food to go anyways in that time. On my most recent visit, the place has changed, the vibe just wasn't what I remember. Like everywhere they did seem a bit short handed, though it wasn't busy when I arrived. The service that used to be so excellent, is gone. I wasn't greeted when I sat down at the counter by any of the servers. Eventually I got my order taken, and then was never checked on again. I had to flag someone down to get a coffee refill, which seemed weird considering I was seated at the bar where the servers were constantly coming and going. I got my food, then my check with nothing in between. Then, when you get the check, they have a note about the menu prices being cash prices, not card prices, and that a 3.5% surcharge has been added. I don't care about the extra cost, I care that it's a surprise. Most restaurants added covid fees or increased prices without updating menus, and while that sucks, they usually have signage somewhere where its posted multiple times in the restaurant itself, or on the menu etc. Here, there is nothing about it until you get the receipt. The food was good, and the prices are still pretty good. I just wish the service was friendlier (especially for going for the "diner feel"), and that they were more open about the costs of things. I am just that type, that even if the food is good, the service can really ruin the experience. And I want to clarify, I get people are busy, but I have been a server at a breakfast restaurant, just being approachable and friendly can go miles even if you're not as available as you would like to be to customers. I'll still be a patron, but might think twice about maybe going to a different place first next time. read more

We pulled in on a Saturday morning around 11am. There was a 20 min wait, so we sat in the comfortable waiting area and were taken to a table right around the 15 min timeframe. Comfortable waiting area and a bright and cheery interior throughout. All the staff were friendly and the food came out at a decent rate. The food was a nice varieties of breakfast and lunch entrees. If you want to call it a brunch, there is a mimosa you can order. We had an original and a special blood orange which were both good. The food was the stand out with an exceptional bacon and avocado Benedict and pecan pancakes. The Benedict was delicious with crispy bacon and perfectly ripe avocado. Coffee is great and they touch it up for you just the right number of times if you know what I mean! The French Toast is fantastic! Most delicious French toast I've ever had in my over 30 years of life. They were packed on one side and I initially sat at bar but being a tall gal that was uncomfortable so I asked if I could move to the other side of the restaurant, which didn't have many people. I feel a little forgotten over here. I've been waiting to catch a server to ask for a to go box and ask about paying. Seems to be cash only and I don't have exact. I know people go crazy over this place but every time I have dined here, I've never been blow away. I went with a few ladies from work for lunch and since I was all egged out from other meals during the week, I decided to go with a tuna melt on rye. This was a treat lunch so I HAD to get fries instead of a salad. When a friend asked for ranch on the side, I joined her. The wait was rather long but it was pretty packed during lunch hour. My tuna melt looked pretty slammin'... and it was okay. I think I'll forego rye next time and stick with sourdough. The fries were pretty good hot and fresh (not as left overs). We split the bill four ways and I was pretty shocked they charged .75 cents for the side of ranch. I ended up not even eating the left overs because a soggy tuna melt and soggy friend just don't do it. Rather pricey lunch, $18 for a tuna melt.
