Just as yummy and quaint as the first location. I feel this one may be better for groups. I saw a table/booth that would seat 8 and a number of tables down the center of the restaurant that could be combined. I liked that this place felt more spacious and was more quiet (at least for the time being until people start to flock to this location). I especially love that the parking is ample here (unlike the first location). This would be a great breakfast spot for those staying at the casino because it is within walking distance. The food is pretty good and the prices are fair (hence the 4/5- it would be a 5/5 if either the food was exceptional and/or the prices were spectacular). Just a tip: If you prefer crispy potatoes, their home fries are not the crispy deep fried kind. The hash browns may be more to your liking if you prefer crispy, but you may have to order to your tastes (e.g. "extra crispy, please"). read more

A new Cup location?! It's a Christmas miracle!! They've been open for a bit now but I finally was able to visit last week and I'm so happy to say that everything to love about the OG Cup is here too--homey design, best friendly service, and delicious food. There's a bit more space between the tables here and there are less booths so it seems like they could better accommodate larger parties than the other one. They also had the doors open between them and Lighthouse coffee which was cool, I'm wondering if they expand seating into there when it gets busy, and vice versa? I am thrilled to have my favorite Reno breakfast location now open even closer to my house! read more

We often go to The Cup in Reno Town Mall for a nice breakfast. We are always greeted right away and our food is served quickly (considering they are usually always busy). The waitresses and owner are always friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and delicious and it is one of our favorite spots to enjoy a meal. Finally half way through the meal we flagged down the waitress since my friend's meal was not what she ordered and the soup was so thick you could eat it with a fork, drinks were never refilled, the server went on break and we had to wait until she was finished before getting our check. I was also turned off by the clothing and all of the cleavage that was showing. I'm sure some customers enjoy that type of attire, but not everyone does. All in all not good. Food and ambience were great. My daughter and I had the Traditional Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast Sandwich. The hollandaise sauce was a little more sour than I like, but ok. The establishment is much brighter, great remodel from the previous Round Table Pizza, making it was a lovely place to eat. Service was quick. Parking is not a problem, as it is/was at the original location. Sadly, I have to deduct a star because of a problem with the bill, which was $35.59 according to my receipt. I added an appropriate tip. But the overall charge on my card was $86.39. I assume it was just a mathematical error, and I am currently disputing it through my credit card company to have it corrected. read more

I've been to the Cups location near Target, so when I saw the construction sign go up at this location, I was thrilled because if it's one thing we need more of in Reno is more places to have breakfast; we can't seem to get enough of breakfast in this town. I ventured over early (7 am-ish) this rainy morning and found the restaurant had a couple of people dining already. The nice young lady behind the counter (Leslie, according to the receipt) warmly welcomed me in and beckoned me to sit at an open table of my choosing. She dropped off the menu followed by a large mug of coffee and a tall glass of water. The menu had so many dishes to choose from, I must admit, it's a little intimidating and overwhelming for the uninitiated. I finally chose the sausage and (scrambled egg breakfast platter with a side of has browns and sausage-and-gravy. Condiments at the table included ketchup, Tapatio hot sauce, salt, pepper, a bowl of creamer, sugar, a selection of sweeteners and jams. The food arrived soon after, pipping hot and fresh, expertly prepared and lightly seasoned (so I added some more salt, ketchup and Tapatio to my liking). Everything was delicious and I ate every morsel except for the biscuit which I opted to take home. So in summation, my first visit to this location was a positive one: the food was great, the location conveniently close with ample parking, the service was as friendly and warm and the price was pretty reasonable ($26 including tip). read more

We've heard great things, we got served our water. The server came and took care of the table next to us and never even looked at us to take our order. Disappointing because my wife only had an hour for lunch and we were already there for 20 minutes. So we had to pick up and leave. Granted they were busy. I just returned from a business trip to Reno. I, with others, was there for more then 2 weeks. The limited food in the convention center was sparse and expensive. We went to Dennys and was disappointed. We found The Cup Cafe which was just across the street on S. Virginia. I myself was very impressed with the food, service and to a degree, the prices. Yes, there are other places where the coffee is cheaper but the atmosphere, food and service made up for it. I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a good cup of coffee, friendly service with a family atmosphere for a breakfast or lunch. They're good for the most part. I ordered the buttermilk waffle once in July and it was so good and rich, and soft, but has been dry every time I've gotten it since. I placed a phone order asked for it to be like the first one I had and the girl who took my order was like, "it's buttermilk" all condensing. No duh Sherlock, but something ain't right if I'm asking. It's not buttermilk or rich and it's the driest waffle I've ever had. I'm clearly chasing a high that will never be satisfied again, so yea. On Mother's Day we came in early with a party of 10 and they were able to get us seated in real fast and the service was top notch! Food came out wonderful with a variety of flavors (bacon was savory in just the right way). We stayed for a little longer but they the hosts were continually offering refills and if we wanted anything. During that time, we had exchanged gifts for all the mothers involved and eventually paid. Unfortunately, one of the mothers had accidentally left their gift at the restaurant. It was an envelope with cash. We called the restaurant back as soon as we realized we left the gift. They were able to find it and we were able to get it back. Martha thank you for your services.
