My wife and I were searching for a restaurant that serves authentic Korean food, and we absolutely lucked out. A new Korean restaurant had just opened in Alhambra, and since it was brand new, there was no wait. The place was spotless, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The servers were friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent. The menu had so many great options--Galbi (Korean short ribs), bibimbap (mixed rice with meat and vegetables), spicy crab, Galbi Jjim, and much more. We ordered the Galbi combo with Bibim Naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and it was outstanding. Every bite was packed with flavor. We highly recommend this restaurant. The quality of the food was excellent, the side dishes were amazing, and we truly enjoyed our entire dining experience. We'll definitely be coming back. read more

Food was not exception, my husband's oxtail soup was bland, but the service was excellent and the place is nice and clean. However, one thing that turned me off was when I saw this waiter blowing into the utensil paper bag to put the utensils in, I will not be going back. It is soooo unsanitary. read more

The food was great. This restaurant has, hands down, the best seafood scallion pancake in LA--seriously!!! It was extremely expensive for a pancake (about $30 with tax), but honestly, I'd still order it again if I go back. But the WAITING ??? Absolutely the worst experience ever. I arrived around 7:30 PM on a Sunday and saw that about half the tables were empty. Still, the host told us there would be a 20-25 minute wait. I asked why we had to wait when no one else seemed to be waiting and there were clearly open tables. She said there were groups ahead of us. Okay, fine--but did anyone get seated during the 25 minutes we waited? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Why make people wait like that??? It was only 7:30--not even close to last call. After we were finally seated, service was still very slow, and there was a lot of room for improvement: 1. Side dishes were served without rice. 2. The rice came out after we had already finished the side dishes, so we ended up waiting for the soup while the rice got dried since it was served without its cover. 3. One server brought brisket dipping sauce (like the kind used for KBBQ) for the gamjatang. Then when we asked another server for soy sauce for the seafood pancake(because there was none), she said the brisket sauce was for the pancake and even offered to bring more. So we ended up eating the pancake with brisket sauce--which is honestly strange, since Korean pancake sauce is typically soy sauce mixed with vinegar and chili flakes. 4. At most Korean restaurants, gamjatang is served with an extra bowl for the bones, but they didn't provide one. I had to ask for it later. The main server's service was great but overall it was way too slow in every steps to get our food. We could start the meal at 9pm. Can you believe it haha The overall ambiance of the restaurant was okay, but it felt humid and uncomfortably warm. Thank god it was their soft opening. I hope they get better management quality that matches their food quality. read more

Sooo happy we have a Korean restaurant that is not strictly a BBQ joint. Love the ambience. Felt cozy and spacious. Nice for groups. Food was yummy. I especially loved the chive and water parsley pancake. Restrooms were very clean. Parking next door. Service was fantastic! Attentive, and friendly. What other superlatives can I use? Not a traditional Korean restaurant.... The cold noodles had a dash of cold broth and a bunch of gochojang! the galbee chim didn't taste traditional and all seemed to only mimic Korean food. I'm Korean raised with Korean food and this to me was a non Korean pretending to serve Korean dishes. Not saying the taste was terrible but felt fooled. We enjoyed our meal overall but a couple of things stuck out for me. The bossam was served with green leaf lettuce instead of cabbage leaf which I prefer and was shown in the menu photo, so that made the dish less appealing for me. The dolsot bibimbap was good but halfway through the meal, it was a bit too crispy and dried out....not sure why, maybe the stone pot was too large/wide for the portion. Service was good. Me and my friend ordered the non spicy cold noodles and raw marinated crab and the were both delicious! The marinated crab was fresh with lots of roe and the cold noodles were just what we needed on a hot day. The banchan are unlimited and we both really loved the whole peppers (please sell your banchan separately we will buy an entire jar of those peppers). We split both orders and they were super considerate and already portioned out everything in advance. Our waiter, Wilson, was very attentive to our requests and super friendly. I tried this place out for the first time, and honestly I believe it's going to be my first and last time coming here. The quality and preparedness of the food was very disappointing, especially for $150+. I ordered takeout which included the galbijjim, galbitang, and the bossam. First, the galbijjim, it was very tough, did not fall off the bone like it should. I had to literally fight with my food to get the meat off the bone. They should have braised the meat much, much longer, and the vegetables such as the kabocha squash and potatoes should have been soft and buttery, rich and soaked with the sauce but was the complete opposite. It was very grainy(?), when you undercook potatoes it's just crumbles between your teeth. The meat itself had a very gamey taste as well, which added to the already very unpleasant experience. Second, the bossam, something that is also very hard to mess up, was chewy and tough. The part of the meat in bossam, that's supposed to be nice and soft was hard. The Napa cabbage that comes with the bossam is supposed to be salted in salt water, but they gave out raw Napa cabbage, which is... very rare, if you've had bossam before. It's the little things that count for me. Lastly, the galbitang, it was okay but idk if it was the large amount of msg, but it had a slight almost plastic-y, paper taste towards the end. Not a very pleasant taste. For $150+, I definitely expected much, much better. read more

Came for their Saturday lunch on their soft opening. Menu on paper placemats and QR code. Price and quality of food was decent, not too impressed. We ordered 4 plates: short ribs, spicy pork soup, bibimbap, and spicy pork with rice on stone bowl. The best tasting plate was the short rib. Spicy pork soup came with a bunch of large leaf mints and tasted kind of bland for me. Service was great and the sides were delicious. Came in 30 minutes before closing but the hospitality here is off the charts. The miss serving us was such an amazing sweetheart. It felt like mom was making sure you were kept filled with food and water. She checked in on us a lot and even helped pack all our stuff along with some extras! We even got a taste of some soup that she just brought out for us. Because of this experience, I will be coming back anytime I find myself in the area again.
