The service is top-notch. Just a wonderful, friendly place. Nice amount of seating inside and a large amount of seating, with a television or two, outside on the front patio. I must say parking can be a real challenge, especially on dodger game days. Will definitely be going back. Bravo... job well done. And the chicken wings were among the best I've ever had. We stopped by here for some drinks since we saw many people seated outside in the patio under the string lights. Unfortunately, the outdoor area was completely full, but they had some space indoors. It was my first time spending time indoors since COVID-19, but I felt more comfortable since I'm vaccinated now. Anyways, we sat on the far corner of the bar, so a bit further away from everyone else. The bartender came around enough to make sure our drinks were never empty but left us alone otherwise. I had two Darkhorse ($12) canned wine for the night. It was definitely interesting having wine from a can, but not shabby spot to grab a drink and hang out. I really would've preferred if we had a spot outdoor. We actually asked if they could let us know when a spot outdoors opened up, but they never followed up and we stayed until closing, oh welps. read more

This is a cute hipster spot. It's very much a "hipster dive bar" if that makes sense. The bar only has beer and wine, making it a perfect place to go on a weeknight or a lowkey night out. In terms of ambiance, the bar is very cozy and cute. I could see this as a cute date spot. The service was pretty quick and the bartenders were helpful in recommending drinks that were popular, etc. Right when we walked in, the food smelled really good and I wish I was more hungry when I went! This cornershop of brews/burgers has changed hands more often than a pro gambler; hence, I was pretty leery about it but gave it a go for auld lang syne and all. Emily and Jane at the bar inside were super fun/cool/great but ONE of the aforementioned barmatronesses kept telling me she wanted to tickle me and I AM NOT TO BE TICKLED! Haha. Tickled pink, however, to find that they have a lot of craft (I didn't say "crap") beerseses and the burger was juicy good and plump as a Freshman during her second semester living in the dorms. Been coming to the Douglas a lot lately. The morning breakfast selection and coffee is a sweet charm. With Chris behind the bar it's easy to take a morning late into the afternoon. Around that time after the rain has stopped in Los Angeles the heat comes on strong and the beverages chill goes quicker. Sometimes I wonder what would be a good solution to keeping a drink colder in the hot sun of Echo Park, Los Angeles? May be a frozen water substance that can just chill the beverage? Maybe something not large but small? A machine of sorts? Something that could produce frozen ice? I'm thinking what we are all thinking, the Douglass could use a small ice machine behind the bar to really make this place 5 1/2 stars! To anyone reading this thank you ! The douglas is my favorite bar to bring friends to or people from out of town who're visiting. The food and classic menu always surprises me. it's so good i love bringing new people to try it. service is always friendly and knowledgeable. a lot of my friends don't drink regularly so bartenders have always been super helpful and given GREAT recs. y'all and the housemade hot sauce. the pies are incredible. don't skip out on the rotating pie flavors. the oreo cheesecake is otherworldly. i have yet to try the banana cheesecake but can't wait. and of course the energy is neighborhoody and chill with cool people. read more

I have drove by this place too many times to count and I was excited to finally try it. I had a Hazy IPA on draft and ordered the burger and fries. The fries were some crunchy seasoned curly fries (yummy, but slightly over done & I like crispy fries- just not this much) and the burger was a double patty with the goods and it was tasty! I wouldn't run out of my way for this place, but since it is close I will definitely be coming back to hang! They have a small outdoor patio and a few heaters :) Enjoy! read more

Little to no parking, but if you do find a spot on the street, may I suggest a walk to the stadium. I had no idea this place even existed. I was walking to the dodger game, and a friend of mine told me to stop off at this place. I saw a bunch of people with dodger gear on, so figured it was a friendly spot. Walked inside and was greeted warmly by the bartender. The place was filled with dodger fans and just plain cool people. The dodgers blond ale was really reasonable, but their beer selection was simple and very reasonably priced. They also have burgers and fries, which I was told by a couple who was eating them, were outstanding. This will be my new pregame warmup. read more

This place is amazing. I go there with my girlfriend every weekend. Folks, it's the best burger in town. The bun is small, but it's two juicy patties. Everytime I go, me and my girl get a basket of curly fries (amazing) we each get a burger and then split a chicken sandwich. With beers and everything it's a great date night under $50 and the neighborhood needs a cool bar like this. The patio and bar area are roughly the same size, but you can't go wrong with either. Nice booths and barstools to chill on. Manny the bartender is a super cool guy. Love this spot. P.S. Get the chicken sandwich spicy. Welcome to the neighborhood, Douglas! We've picked up food 3 times and been pretty pleased. The curly fries are amazing! The peanut butter snicker pie also fantastic! My husband is a fan of the cheeseburger and fried chicken sandwich. I was not that into falafel but I'm glad they have a vegetarian option. The beer selection is great. This review is for TAKEOUT only: My partner and I decided to try the fried chicken sandwiches with fries on the side because we saw the rave reviews here on Yelp. The food was ready in a very timely manner for a Thursday. When we got home and opened the box, we were very disappointed with how small the portion size was. And this is saying a lot from me who is a petite woman that typically doesn't need to eat much to get full. The sandwich was literally 2 slim chicken tenders on a bun with a side of a portion of fries that are less than a hand full for an additional price. Definitely not worth it. This looks like a nice place to go for drinks and to hang out in person so that with the food (& drinks I'd assume ) at least you're also paying for the "experience". But I definitely felt robbed in getting just the food for takeout/delivery. 3 stars because the food was prompt, hot, and still pretty solid despite still feeling hungry (and robbed) afterwards. read more
