Five stars for a great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable bar tender and EXTENSIVE menu. My boyfriend and I came in Easter Sunday for a post brunch drink and I'm glad we did! We sat at the bar and the bartender was quick and very friendly! The drink menu is LONG, when the bartender saw us struggling to make a decision she asked what we were in the mood for and gave us a quick synopsis of the drinks she thought we would like. I had the almond joy, it was sweet, dessert like and reminded me of being on a beach. Everything I had wanted from a frozen drink! The decor is tacky... but in a good way. The giant stone head in the center of the bar releases smoke every 15ish minutes, which adds to the fun. I'm excited to see this place in action at night since I saw a dj booth. What a pleasant experience we had at The Drunk Monk. We found this place by accident. We originally had a reservation across the street at STK on Mothers Day that turned into a nightmare. We waited an hour and a half at STK for food that never arrived. We left STK and saw The Drunk Monk directly across the street. We decided to give it a try. I can't say enough good things about this place. We were greeted properly and seated fast. Our artichoke dip appetizer arrived hot within 12 minutes from ordering. Our entrées ( Burgers and Shrimp Tacos ) arrived within 14 minutes of ordering and tasted delicious, hot and fresh. Our server Mia was so friendly and very accommodating. The drinks were good. They have a lot of fun Tiki Drinks. The prices are fair and the ambience is amazing. The Key Lime Pie and Coconut Gelato were delicious and perfect for the 3 of us to share. We will definitely be back. I am so happy we found this place. What started out as a nightmare Mothers Day at STK ... ended up being a GREAT Mothers Day at The Drunk Munk. This place gets packed because of happy hour and their prices are cheap compared to the surrounding restaurants. They did make a great margarita. It seemed loud, dark, cold and dirty. We got a California roll. Mostly rice. Seemed like supermarket sushi. Not our kind of place.: Management responded with the standard, why didn't you say anything, we cant solve a problem we dont know exists. Well, clearly management doenst watch the bar. If they did, they would immediately see that 2 bartenders covering a large bar and all the drinks in the restaurant isnt enough. We waited easily 20 mins between drinks. Extremely poor service. Greeted with confusion, resistance and no effort to accommodate us. Party of 3 with 2 suitcases & 2 backpacks and was rudely told no room for our bags by hostess and bartender. Several tables were open. Uber had just dropped us off about 1:30p on Sunday. I am visiting from Los Angeles and made sure to stop in here. I'm glad I was in town for the opening. I loved my pulled pork sandwich and the Bikini Girl and Flower Goddess. Also, as a collector of tiki mugs you guys have some great ones! I hope you have a smooth opening and I can't wait to come back here when I'm back in Phoenix. Honestly really disappointed since I really wanted to like this place as I live nearby and pass by it all the time. The drinks and food were really good but towards the end of the dinner we ordered another California roll that never came. After waiting another 20 minutes after we already paid we asked someone to cancel it since no one else had been by in that time and we didn't want to be rude and just leave I even said to the worker "hey it's no big deal but this hasn't come in a long time and we really just need to leave can you please just cancel it." The manager came over and didn't even say anything to us but just fiddled with a card reader and walked away (don't even know that he was actually the manager since he didn't say anything). After waiting even longer we went to the bar and they said sorry the system is being weird we're trying to take that off. It was a $5 California roll and not that big of a deal, didn't really care about the price just wanted to leave yet ended up waiting even longer for the charge to be removed when they could have just given us a $5 coupon for next time if it was that complicated (Again didn't even care about the price but still). I've had restaurants give free appetizers, dessert or drinks just to rectify longer wait times that we hadn't even complained about. I previously worked in the restaurant industry for years as a server so I get things can get chaotic and stuff happens and I'm not even the type of person to cause issues if my order is wrong but the fact that the manager or anyone else didn't even say anything to us or apologize for the wait is pretty off-putting and unprofessional. We ended up waiting 30-40 minutes in total for this California roll that never came and no one even mentioned it. Honestly would have just appreciated if someone acknowledged us or at least apologized for the wait without us having to ask 3 different people what was going on. We were patient, accommodating, understanding and not once complained so the fact that we still basically just got ignored is disheartening. I wasn't even going to leave a review until I mentioned to a friend that I went to dinner there and the first thing she said was "the service was bad huh?" And then proceeded to mention she's been there 3 times and never had good service. So maybe this is something you guys should look into if this is a common issue. Have been here a few times, pupu platter and sushi every time- delish!!!! Have settled on the Mai Tai as my favorite drink here but all that I've tried were great. This place makes me feel like I'm on a vacation. Great vibe, great decor, and lastly - great owner for sticking up to the few bad reviews written by the keyboard warriors!! I read the reviews and thought the owner replies were snarky/funny. I'm glad we found this place! I didn't expect to find "authentic" tiki decor, and wouldn't have recognized it anyway. What I did find was friendly service, good food and great drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our server Micah! It would be great if we could bring our dog with us, but their patio just doesn't have the layout to be dog friendly. Not that big of a deal! We found our new HH spot! read more

Food here is good, but the rum drinks are what keep us going back. All the drinks are delicious and STRONG. The almond joy is my new favorite frozen cocktail of all time! Keary is the best server and even on busy nights makes you feel taken care of and like you're her only table. read more

I am very unsatisfied with the quality of service and product at this restaurant. I ordered the Zombie Kitty and it tasted like bubble gum foam toothpaste that you get at the dentist. Also multiple drinks that my party ordered came out incorrectly. It took an unreasonable amount of time (almost an hour) for our drinks to be served, therefore, many were melted and watered down. We were very pleasant to the server and other employees throughout this experience, however, not one employee even bothered to apologize for our wait. I am very upset with the lack of hospitality, much more so than the wait time for our drinks. I understand that things happen and the bar can get backed up, but I expect a simple apology at the very least. I will not be returning. read more

I'm super glad that Kelly's at Southbridge had a 2 hour wait, because we walked across the street to the Drunk Monk. It was great! The Drunk Munk has a cool vibe and a huge patio (heaters included) , which is great for COVID times. Fallon was our server, and she was fantastic! She was friendly, and provided great recommendations and service. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer, shrimp tacos and steak tacos. Everything was delicious. The wine list is decent and cocktails are strong. It was a perfect date night! read more

This place is a gem in downtown Scottsdale. I've been a few times and every time the drinks are on point and delicious. The bartenders are knowledgeable and take the time to have a conversation with you and make you feel wanted there. The food was delicious and paired well with the drinks. Happy hour is AMAZING, 3-7pm every single day. The only thing I had a problem with was the party I was with recently had reserved 2 tables and by the time the rest of the party arrived we were told we could no longer use the table. I understand this place gets busy but a notice would have been nice, rather than the hostess coming to shoo us away from the table with no explanation. read more

Worst service ever! We came in and asked for a table for 2. The hostess looked so confused and then went and walked around the restaurant looking for a table. She finally came back and took us to a table. After about 20 minutes of sitting there with waitress after waitress walking by and ignoring us, we decided to move to the bar (nobody even noticed that we moved). The bartender promptly got us drinks. However, we ordered 2 appetizers that never came after 45 minutes!! We finally got our bill and paid for the drinks, the bartender clearly didn't even remember we ordered food. This place will not last long.
