This place sounded really good on paper, but I ended up being disappointed. I will say that our server was lovely and she was the best thing about the experience. #1: They have a build your own burrito option with meats, cheeses, and vegetables to select from. I like potatoes in my breakfast burrito, but potatoes weren't listed as a "chooseable" vegetable, but they were available as a side. I asked if I could add it and then have it put in the burrito but was told by supervisor that, "no, we can't put them IN the burrito". I got the Corsica Benedict instead and it was okay. #2: They offer Mimosa flights which is part of what sold us on this venue in the first place; they have so many interesting ones to choose from. Well - it turns out they do not. You can choose from 4 mimosa flavors that only have pureed fruit added to them vs. the long list of unique flavors we wanted to try. They could at least offer this option with an upcharge. #3: A food-runner brought our meals and didn't stop to ask if we needed anything, just whirled away and walked off. We didn't have silverware. Nobody would make eye-contact with us. My husband had to go up to the bar counter and wait for a couple minutes for someone to acknowledge him before we could eat our meals. I don't remember what my husband had to eat, but he was similarly left with a lackluster experience. A bit of a tardy review after a couple of visits to the new Egg Bistro ranging from late Summer to mid October. I decided to not have a third visit which would further delay what I believe is their ultimate correct rating in my book. The location is dynamite on General Booth and London Bridge. This area was in need of a full service set down breakfast/brunch/lunch. No dinner hours. Parking nearby is an issue when peak on weekends. However, the lot is huge and you can find parking with a possible hike. Both visits were over peak crowd weekends. A check-in hostess station is inside the door. A friendly staff put our party on wait for 20 min. Second visit was a solo bar that I did not realize also required a hostess check on weekends, but they were cool as there were empties. Nice space with wood floors and vibrant orange colors. The bar is sweet and extends a quarter of the length of their square footage. The lighting is great too with drops and a ton of natural from nearby windows. The Summer visit was a tad uncomfortable on climate. A staffer said the unit has issues. There is also a covered outdoor patio with lots of space. First visit was exceptionally good on service from start to finish from the female staff. Our party was seated in a booth. My order The Perry's Benedict looked better with regard to plating than taste. Poached eggs were cooked correct. The asparagus was fresh and the bottom layer of English muffin crisp. However, the hollandaise sauce was off to my liking. Since the sauce was every where it was not as enjoyable as I would have liked. Coffee average. Time from order to hit table respectable. Three stars. Second visit was even worse with regards to my dish, but even stronger service at the bar with Megan. This time I asked for a recommendation and was told their chicken and waffles rocked! These are fighting words, I love that dish and immediately ordered with side of cubes potatoes. Megan was fantastic refilling coffee and telling me about different happy hour specials which should be a good draw. The dish came out in a respectable amount of time and again, plating great! But unfortunately the dish was a complete let down. The waffles dry and hard, the chicken flavorless. More of the caramel sauce could have helped the waffles. The potatoes meh and needed more seasoning and a lot of ketchup. There was no saving the chickening my opinion. Megan did follow up and I did inform her the dish was a disappointment. The manager was within ear shot and never said a word which was discouraging. No offer to replace the meal, discount, or comp. A trip to the restroom prior to departing found the men's room functional, clean and all the proper supplies. I am disappointed. This location is a fantastic one for the West side of Virginia Beach. I hope to return next year and update after another dish, maybe lunch deserves a try. The service is their biggest plus that I experienced over two visits. The pricing of dishes is on the high side of local brunch competition. The average food will not win them my recommendation at this point. read more

You can show up after not sleeping for 3 days and looking like you fought your way out of the ICU, yet still be treated like a long lost friend/family member (even with a resting b* face). Not only have a gotten dope food there hundreds of times, i can honesty say Ive made friends. The real breakfast experience was the friends we made along the way, or maybe its the drinks they serve even in the morning, I dont know Im not a poet. Anyway, the service here is so spectacular that when I die Im going to have my friends/family spread my ashes at this location, despite being profusely asked/warned not to (to bad Im dead, what are you gonna do? Minus a star for all the random loud chit chat that occurred from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. This random loud chit chat occurred behind the counter and it was filled with curse words. One point a waitress who was clearly working hard was trying to get the attention of another employee to run her food for her. At some point it turned into her yelling to the person for help. About 7 minutes passed and he ended up walking in... he works here, behind the counter, in the kitchen. The moment he walked in that's when the loud chit chatting happened. Loud laughing, cursing here and there and so on. It all was way too much! Our food was good. No real complaints there. Our waitress was ok. She was trying but, she was getting wrapped up in all things closing and the chi chat behind the counter. At one point we needed to ask another waitress for refills. We also waiting about 7 min for someone to come over and welcome us and get the drink order. The menu is definitely large. So look ahead maybe and get an idea on what you want. We have been going here for YEARS. There are some times when it's a hit/miss when we do takeout;however, today was awful. Corned beef hash came without the "hash" and just a side of hash browns. It was also burnt. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy was watered down. The sandwich we got was all over the place (it was sitting upright with a seatbelt on the way home), and the crab and steak Benedict literally came with a handful of crab claws thrown in the corner on some arugula. Welp, this place made me a believer. It earned a 5 star review because of the versatility of options and were so delicious. From the beginning, we were met with such a Southern hospitality, and from an outer of stater, this felt like home. Nothing beats a bistro joint that can serve healthy options, like the Burrito Light with so many yummy seasoned vegetables, and perfectly cooked egg whites and do rich options like French Toast. I snagged a bite of my moms French toast, and it didn't feel like a cheat to my workout at all! Perfectly thick, moist, with bursts of cinnamon French toast and full bodied stone ground grits. On the 6th of June 2021. The Egg Bistro: 2.5 Stars Atmosphere felt like a simple modern diner with plenty of natural light. A crowd of people, chattering flowing through and the busy waitress successfully taking orders and dishing out the meals. Some customers may want the waiters to attend to their needs like a fussy child while others want a robotic version and only to be summoned when need be. That being said with the huge flow of customers our waiter was hustling through like a champ. Food: The corsica Benedict with corn beef hash. Composed well enough to say eat me which I happily did so. After tasting each component then combining each item. It was under seasoned. Thankfully the salt was near by. Some bites had a strong acidic taste while most was just disappointingly bland. Best description is the look of a model but the persona of a worn down cracked stump. Drink: The mimosa tasted like sprite with orange juice. A water downed version of sprite with orange juice. Price vs Quality: The price was not bad for the quality it offers but I believe they can do better. Perhaps that day was an off day, no matter it was still a decent experience. How very disappointing. Our first visit was great, food was excellent and the crabby bloody mary was excellent. However we went Tuesday for lunch. Husband ordered omlette I ordered the crab burger. I am so glad we have an Egg Bistro this side of town! I went on Sunday, but the wait list was to long. So, my husband is I went today for brunch. So here is what I love about this place! I really enjoyed my visit here this morning. I luckily had the day off (Friday of a holiday weekend) and decided to make the trip. I am so glad we got here when we did (around 9 am) because there was plenty of seating and no wait...roughly 20 mins later there was quite a long line out the door. First impression, I like that they are pet friendly and how large the place is, including indoor and outdoor seating. They also had a large breakfast/ brunch selection. I first ordered a mimosa flight, each were delicious especially the Peach, Pear and Apricot flavored was by far my favorite! They didnt have as much champagne as I normally like in my mimosas but no biggie. I ordered the French Toast which were wonderful, fluffy with some crispy sides and lots of syrup and butter. I also ordered (included with meal) two over medium eggs, yum, cooked perfectly, three sausage links that were big and shredded hash browns. All delish. Soooo muuuccchh food for one person! My husband ordered the cinnamon, honey cronuts which he really enjoyed because he loves donuts but I thought it was just okay.
