I love the Egg Bistro! You really can't beat the early bird menu! I had a blt with egg on rye with hash browns for $5!!! Great food for an awesome price and amazingly chill atmosphere. The seating is nicely spaced out so you don't feel like your on top of the other patrons. The restrooms were quaint and clean. Our server was so kind and helpful.i can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu! Get there early! Absolutely amazing spot! The staff rocks and the food is out of this world! My boyfriend surprised me this morning with a easter egg scavenger hunt and the end result was a miniature menu for this place in the last easter egg! What a sweet sweet surprise! Normally 4-5 star but today, myself and a friend were waiting in line for 20 minutes when the manager seated 2 people he knew that came in after us, before us. Even when the hostess pointed out we were there first, along with two other couples. The manager chose to seat them before six customers ahead of them. I asked the hostess why was the couple was seated before all of us as and she said "I have no idea why my manager did that." I appreciated her honesty and sincerity. The manager's decision to place a greater value on customers he knew personally over those who had been waiting prior is unprofessional and ruined our breakfast and our impression of The Egg Bistro as an organization. Unfortunately, we will not be back and that stinks because we really enjoyed coming here until today. read more

We sat outside on the porch. While we were sitting outside we watched 5 servers inside carrying on with each other behind the bar. They didn't seem to give a care about us. There was a couple with a golden doodle. The dog got into a fight with another dog that walked in the area and the dog hair was flying. The doodle got into a fight with a husky. Our server seemed to be busy with her phone instead of serving us. Every time we needed something we had to wait, and wait. The food was cold and brought to us by a different server. Our server was missing. The final straw was when we were paying and the 'suggested' gratuity on the machine. (I asked for a paper receipt which I never received.) The smallest 'suggested' amount was 27%!!! IF, she'd been more attentive, maybe! But not for the time we watched her on her phone. Will I go back? Probably NOT! read more

This is a great place if your looking for brunch or just a good hot sandwich and drinks. I had the southwestern omelette with chicken, avocado, salsa, bell pepper, and onion in the omelette. It was very delicious. I had a peach Bellini to go with it. Definitely a fan of that drink. My husband wanted the fan club which is a club sandwich with turkey, tomatoes and lettuce and mayo. I've come here many times with groups ranging from 4 to 15, and the staff is always very helpful in getting us seated as quickly as possible. We have waited quite a while, but it is worth your wait for good service and good food! I've tried many menu items, but I recommend the cronuts or the French toast. My parents really enjoy the mimosa flights which include 4 different types on a little wooden holder! The one thing I wouldn't recommend is the lattes. My friend and I ordered them as listed on the menu but got charged an extra dollar to make them "vanilla". They tasted rather milky and not coffee like! I probably will not be ordering that again because I feel like I wasted money. The decorations are decent, and it is clean inside! I've never had a bad waitress or a rude hostess, so good customer service really keeps us coming back. Would be 5 stars if not for the outrageous fruit cup up charge. We come here at least once a week because the food is great and so is the staff. It's the best breakfast in Virginia Beach! I always get the fruit (excellent fruit assortment) instead of potato or grits. It used to be $1 up charge which hey, still annoying, but many places charge an up charge. But now they hold my beloved fruit cup hostage with a $2.99 up charge! What's up Egg Bistro! Don't you love healthy eating?? Egg Bistro saved my hungover life. We had a bit of a wait during a busy Memorial Day weekend. I think it ended up taking 20-30 minutes but it was worth it. If you love a brunch cocktail, you can't come to Egg Bistro and not order a mimosa flight. I don't remember how much it cost but the portion is more than generous. There's a variety of creative and refreshing flavors. I ordered the Dig In breakfast bowl that also came with homefries. Once again, very generous portions that kept me full for the rest of the afternoon. This location offers plenty of seating from booths, high tops, a bar and regular tables. The staff was very friendly and, despite being slammed, never made me feel like I was being rushed to open up my table. read more

I gave this location a try after my average visit at the Chesapeake location. This place is busy on a Sunday afternoon; however, the wait was only 10-15 minutes. The food was good, and service was good. All the employees seemed cheerful and happy to be working. I had the country chicken and biscuits which was decent. The chicken was a little dry, but I think it's because it was fried chicken breast. Also, I thought it was a little different to serve a big salad on a plate. It's easier to eat it from a big bowl to keep the lettuce/toppings from spilling over the edge. Overall, no big complaints except for the bathrooms. I usually judge an establishment on the greeting, food, service, atmosphere, and bathrooms. The bathrooms could use a deep cleaning. There was dust on the doors and baseboards, as well as, a ring in the toilet meaning that it hasn't been scrubbed in a week or two at least. read more

The food was really good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The sausage gravy wasn't too thick and had chucks of sausage in it. It wasn't bland and had a good gravy taste. The food came out fast considering they were busy. The eggs were cooked perfectly as ordered. There was a mix up with getting our name on the list but they corrected it and got us seated 5 mins after the issue was noticed and addressed. The Hail Mary was good as well. Was vacationing in Sandbridge VA, (July 2021), stumbled on The Egg Bistro on the way home from the gym. It was a great find! Sat at the bar and Megan served us, a great server and very personable. Had a great healthy egg white choice (The Health Nut). My gf had a different egg white option (wrap) and a Bloody Mary. It was so good, we went back the next day. Both days there was no wait. My husband randomly stumbled across this restaurant. So glad he did! We all loved our meals and walked away stuffed. Service from hostesses, busboys, food runners, etc. was really friendly. Amanda was our waitress and she was friendly and made great suggestions for mimosa flavors. She was very busy running from table to table which meant that small requests (straws, hot sauce, boxes) went unfulfilled. However, Amanda spent time with us and made us feel like important guests. The food! Bennie and the Grits: delicious! Eggs were perfectly poached and the flavors were spot on Chicken & Waffles: flavor and seasoning was excellent. Only slight issue is that the waffles were a touch dry. They would've been perfect with more of the syrup topping. Pineapple Upside Down Pancake: so good that my daughter wanted to lick the plate. She especially loved the vanilla cream. County Fried Steak: perfectly fried with just the right amount of salt. Gravy was served on the side per our request but tasted good when eaten with the steak. Home fries were really good and had the crispy seasoning coat like my favorite fast food curly fries. Mimosa Flight: good but messy. It was excellent, the food was awesome, I had the Philly Philly Omelette and Home Fries with Rosrmary, I never had potatoes like that before. Kept trying to love the restaurant, however staff's attention towards customers are so inconsistent that I am just not going to to return. It's too bad. A patron who sat next to me was trying to give the server a few pointers with no apologies. Overall, extremely rude and awful attitude. Additional comment, bartender/server asked me if I know eggs Benedict is served with poached eggs or not, she assumed I did not know (I am Asian.) never acknowledge me when I sat down at the bar, I have to get her attention after 10 minutes. Waited 20 minutes for her to come back to place my order. She offer everyone drinks to go other than me! Patron who sat next to me told her that she needs to pay a little more attention to our end of bar. She ignored him. The worst service I had ever experienced and wish I could take the cash tip back. This Egg Bistro location is where I became a believer in brunch. I'm converted. I'm sold. My favorite time to come is around 11 when both breakfast & lunch is served. It can get awfully crowded here and with the small waiting space, it can get uncomfortable quickly especially if the weather isn't great but BOY let me tell you.. it is worth it. There's something to be said about being able to order a delicious mimosa flight, juicy hamburger, a big plate of French toast, and French fries on the side. Heaven.. am I right? And these items from Egg Bistro? So good. Yeah, they have really good breakfast food as well as lunch items. I've gotten their Fried Pickle Burger and it was so juicy and delicious. I've also gotten their Philly cheese steak. It was also pretty good. (Philly cheesesteak for Brunch? Don't knock it till you try it) oh my goodness. Did I mention their Cronuts? Yeah, super yummy although very much on the sweet side. They have really great waffle a la mode. I don't want to brag but I'm sort of a French Fry connoisseur and I 100% approve of their French fries. (Ok I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure 70% of my diet is made up of fries) If I'm not picking French Fries from someone's plate, someone is picking French fries from my plate because the fries here are so yummy !!! Egg Bistro has a great selection of drinks as well! Before falling in love with the food, I fell in love with their flights. It's definitely something that can be shared between two people which is a plus for the price. My favorite flavors include mango, peach & passion fruit. Service here is also pretty good and because this isn't a pretentious brunch place, my bill for two would usually land between $25-$38 and it's usually with at least a mimosa flight, meal with a side, and a la carte item. (I never come here without ordering a mimosa flight) Serving here is pretty generous too without being excessive. The service here is decent as well. My crab benedict was okay, I don't know if the crab was fresh or not but the crab meat itself was a little salty. My husband ordered their cronuts, and it was pretty good. They drizzle honey over it, kinda wish maple syrup would have been drizzled instead. Then it comes with an ample amount of sides to choose from. Checked out the restroom area, and it was clean. Creamer choices for coffee was pretty decent as well. They had a selection of flavors and my cup stayed refilled without me asking. Our server, Christopher, was super helpful and friendly! He gave us a low-down on the area which was great for a Hampton Roads transplant. The menu is GREAT! So much variety, so much more than breakfast food! Their drink menu is excellent- bloody Mary's, Bellinis, Crushes, mimosas, they have all the good boozey breakfast drinks. The coffee was delicious and the food was fresh and tasty! Dining room is large and the space is well decorated, very Virginia-beachy.
