This is a delightful sushi spot. The decor is pleasant and I think it would be a good date or meetup spot. The interior is well decorated and welcoming. The service was great! Everyone was kind and patient. I ordered 3 pieces of torched scalloped but they accommodated my request to just have 2 of them torched. The scallop was solid. Torching it added a nice flavor. The rice was the highlight though. It was flavorful and just right. The more nigiri you order the cheaper it is per piece. So this is a great place to share your meal. I also got a dragon roll and it was delicious. They added in a crab stick to the roll, which I wasn't mad at. They do takeout well, which is not always the case. The sushi at The Goblin is by far the freshest sushi I've ever had. The chefs take time and dedication to present you with the best sushi experience. The rice is perfectly cooked! Warm and fluffy. My husband does not eat raw anything and the chef kindly asked if he could make him something and boy did he! My husband was amazed by what he tasted. I can't put into enough words how well the sushi is prepared at The Goblin. The restaurant is small and bright and I love the Japanese products on display and for purchase. The feeling is almost like a sushi cafe. A great place to study while enjoying sushi! The sushi chef tells you what the catch of the day is. Last time, it was blue Finn tuna and that was the best bite for me. Sooooo gooooodd. It's even affordable. They have good combos. It's a simple place. Almost like noble fish. We ordered the panda arrangement and also had the opportunity to try their fresh yellow tail and blue fin tuna - everything tastes like it just came from the sea - so fresh! Went to Goblin sushi for lunch. It has such a modern Asian interior vibe. I loved it. Love the detail on the Togo boxes, even the chopsticks. Their food is also very refreshing. I love the fact that their nigiri and rolls have characteristic flavor to it. It's not like other sushi places where you are eating it but you don't know what you are tasting because there's too much going on in the food. This place is clean and refreshing and I would totally come back. Oh also, their seaweed salad is super good. I don't know how to describe it more, you'd just have to taste it. read more

In a world full of mediocre sushi restaurants come a shining light in a stormy sea. The quality of sushi is as fresh as they come. The bluefin is gorgeous, and perfectly marbled. They source it from a vendor the chef would not disclose, trade secret, fully understandable haha. Upon letting, who I suspect was the owner, know that it was our first time, his response was cherry and welcoming, throwing in an unexpected dessert for us. Finally found a sushi place that's clean, delicious, and environmentally conscious. Too bad it's tucked away in Sterling Heights! It's an unintentional speakeasy, nestled next to an ostentatious pawn shop with a huge $ sign. They even sell avocado pits in clear cases. And their water dispenser is from Coway (Korean clean water filter)! Last but definitely not least their packaging is eco-friendly. So I'm pretty excited. This hidden gem is about 1 mile away from my home. I hope they are okay with seeing me on a regular because I am a sushi freak!!!!! It may be hard to find this location, as the building it self just has a white awning and the name isnt on the awning yet. Very new and fresh business from what I could see. My fellow elite friend mentioned this little restaurant to me, and the next thing you know, we are there having lunch! And I was super surprised at the great quality, taste, and cute/quaint location, and simplistic clean food presented. I was super hungry so I ordered the Alaskan Roll and a sushi bowel with spicy ahi tuna, avocado, and cucumber, on a bed of steamed white rice. We also finished it all off with matcha cheesecake because, why not? I could tell the owner was there, and making himself known, as well as checking on our experience.
