My wife and I came here because she knows how much I love Eggs Benedict, and this place had a sign outside showing a special for $9.99 (as opposed to $10.99). The decor had a nice oldies vibe, and I didn't need to wait long to have my order taken. Just the Benedict and a coffee. My wife was just there to accompany me. The coffee came quickly - it's only coffee, after all. The milk came in a cool little metal cup on the side. Unfortunately, it felt like a good 15 minutes before the Eggs Benedict came. Turns out, those extra couple of minutes seem to have been spent overcooking the eggs, which is the one thing you cannot do to this dish. I also cannot recommend the hollandaise sauce here. I'm pretty sure it wasn't made from scratch. I was never offered a refill on my coffee, which is a shame. I didn't particularly like the coffee, but caffeine is caffeine. Perhaps other meals are fresher-tasting, or a better value, and honestly, I should have trusted my feeling based on the photo outside. It tasted how the picture looked. All in all, it's fine. $9.99 for a quasi- Eggs Benedict isn't the end of the world. Usually I expect to pay $15-18 at a legit breakfast spot, so you get what you pay for. read more

While the resturant is surrounded more modern eateries, The Great Grill has a charming atmosphere and decor. A perfect place to come with friends to hang out, talk and enjoy great food at a very reasonable price. Plus, the staff is friendly and attentive. The Patty Melt I ordered was stuffed with two juicy beef patties, grilled onions, tomatoes, swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. A fantastic mix of vibrant flavor for the taste buds. The fries were cooked perfectly at a crisp golden brown. My Patty Melt and Black & White shake was a grand total of $15 dollars (before tip). Its cheaper then most fast food places. What can I say, this place is been our favorite spot for years. My daughter has celebrated her birthday there. Their costumer service is top notch ( Victor is the greatest!) Also the owner , but I just don't remember his name . They have a good variety of American food. The ambiance is great (50's ) the design , their little music box in each table make you go back in time. It is a really cool place. The original plan this morning was to stop by The Corner Cottage for breakfast. However when we arrived there was a huge wait so we decided on The Great Grill. Now service began a little slow but I have been in the industry for a while so I understand. Once we ordered our food came really quickly. The chicken fried steak and gravy had a great flavor. Yet my home fries had none. There was absolutely no seasoning on my potatoes. My wife @gilda1016 had the same issue with hers. That continued with her breakfast burrito. One of my greatest pieces of advice to anyone who cooks for a living is to constantly taste and season your food. Once we were done we weren't offered any refills, just the check. I don't think we will be back here in the future which such because I really like the old school diner feel. It is just no enough to bring my family and I back. read more

A pretty large menu consisting of breakfast items, sandwiches etc. Since I'm not a big breakfast fan, I ended up getting the Reuben. Just as expected from a greasy spoon such as this, the sandwich was well, greasy! However, it tasted pretty good. I held mine with a napkin and very soon my napkin was soaked with the butter on the sandwich. I don't eat stuff like this often, but when I do, I like to have a decent one and this one, was pretty damn decent! I also sampled my friend's pancakes -- nice and fluffy.... if I was a pancake person I would've loved them, but since I am not, I'll never order it, but it was still good. The great grill has the look of a restaurant made in the 1950s. The place was very clean and the cashier was incredibly friendly and quick on his feet. I ordered the omelette with mushrooms, tomato and avocado. They definitely don't skimp on the ingredients here! I was happy with how much mushroom and avocado I got and the chef cooked everything to perfection. I loved the texture of my omelet , expertly sautéed mushrooms and moisture. I like this place better than Johnny Rockets. It had a nice variety of food options and several salad options. I tried a Hawaiian salad which looks like a bunch of lettuce with pineapple on top but the flavors were so intricate. It had banana, nuts, juicy chicken, and other fruit. Very tasty and the dressing, to die for! A coconut mix of yummy goodness. My daughter had the traditional chicken tenders with fries. She's happy with that and they brought out a side of fruit for her at my request. The music machine works perfectly. It actually played the songs I paid for unlike Johnny Rockets. This place was awesome!! My friend took me here and it was really delicious. It has a retro feel and even a juke box! Overall it has an American grill type feel to it with a retro diner decor. The Turkey bacon club was what I got and it came with fries. The bread was crispy and buttery! I do wish there was more bacon but maybe it's just cuz I'm a bacon fiend lol The fries were thick and had a little crisp to them. That's the only thing I have tried so far but it really was great. I actually had to smash a 1/4 of it before i took the picture because I couldn't resist lol They have a quick and safe take out and can be found in the Burbank center over by the mall with plenty of parking.
