YES this place is INSIDE the liquor store, YES this place is awesome! I was a little confused the first time I came here, first on how to find the place, then second, would this place be any good? I was already here so I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did! I've tried pretty much every kabob they have. The marinated beef is by far the best! Right behind that is the kofta, also pretty good. I like the flavor of the shrimp, but often times the shrimp is overcooked. The chicken is usually very tough and dry. I just stick with the beef and kofta. The falafel is also good here, I always get a few on the side. The green sauce is my favorite and I use that pretty much exclusively. The last time I came here more recently it was PACKED. There wasn't a single seat available! I'm glad this place is doing well, I hope this means it'll stay so I can continue to enjoy it. It does also mean it will be harder to eat here though. Fortunately they delivery through uber eats, postmates, and you can order take out through Yelp/Eat24. So there are many options to get your fix! read more

Underwhelming food. We ordered one of everything, pretty much. The shrimp was the best. Chicken was so dry. Grape leaves were really weird, as if they were stuffed with old cooked tomatoes. The baklava was meh, but we let it sit overnight and it got better. Haha! Well, at least the price was right. Enough food for 5 and it was $53. It shares a space with a liquor store full of fun drinks, with a lovely guy at the register. read more

Green Olive is absolutely amazing!! it's a local chain so you're supporting a local small business owner by eating here. I usually get either the salmon plate or green salad with salmon added. It's always divine, the salmon is cooked to perfection. I get a side of garlic sauce, it's very garlicky which is perfect for me. I highly recommend trying here!! read more

Funky little family place inside a liquor store. Seems like a nice family run business. I always like to support these kinds of businesses. Anyway, had the Gyro sandwich plate, which came with a side salad or spicy potatoes. I got the salad and should have gotten the potatoes. The person eating next to me got potatoes and they looked great. The sandwich was great. The meat was fresh the red onions were fresh, and the pita was soft. I did not care for the sauce, but other than that, everything was great. Next time in, i will try the plate with rice because the rice looked good too! The service was great and everyone was very accommodating. They were even sharing some dessert samples with customers in line to order. I'll be back and I hope others come and experience this wonderful family business! read more

Mediocre Mediterranean food. I was up sold on the tabouli salad I asked if the small serving would feed 2 and she said better to get the large. The small would have absolutely fed two people but it was also not worth getting. We tossed the rest out. The best part was discovering the liquor store they share space with. read more

I visit this place often, the food is very good. I buy food from this place at least once a week. The food is always fresh & taste good. I mostly go for the Greek salad & chicken kabob. However, during my last visit recently, I notice a discrepancy with the pricing of their food. This is the second time that I have noticed them charging me more on the register, then the price stated on the menus. Each menu list different prices as well. Instead of changing the price to the price listed, all the girl at the register could say was that they told their manager about it several times, but he has yet to change it. This is not fair to the customer & it's not honest. read more

When we don't have anything ready for dinner, don't want to go out, and don't want to cook, The Green Olive is a go-to in our household. He likes the gyro plate, which is great and filling, but I switch between that and the kabob plates. Everyone at our house that's tried the green spicy potatoes loves those as well. We sometimes get double potatoes in the meals (even though it's an upcharge). read more

I have always ordered from here and food is great but the my problem is the customer service Evey time I have called the order minimum changes some days is 25$ today is 35$ there website is 20$ then no matter what extra 5$ for delivery. They really need to work in there communication skills and specially customers service the girl I spoke to today was very disrespectful after all money I have spend always have order 40+ plus in food and + 5 $ delivery fee and my last complaint is that they take over 2 hours to deliver or even canceled your order I will NEVER buy from this place again and everyone else start voicing their concerns with this place read more

Today I ordered the koofta and chicken combo entree plate and it came with a side of rice, hummus, and salad. The food was really good, very well seasoned, fresh, hot, and authentic tasting. I wasn't expecting such good food but it actually was great and the price wasn't bad I believe it was like $12.50. Oh! Bake in some time to find parking! There's both indoor and outdoor seating at this location. This inside is cozy and there's a second room for additional seating. I went on a Thursday night and it was slammed. They do not take reservations but they do have a waitlist via toast that you can join while you walk around and wait for your table. Plenty to do and see on 2nd street. We ordered the party platter for 4 people! It was the perfect amount of food with leftovers to take home. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION. Our beef was a textbook medium rare and was so juicy and tender, as was the rest of the meat. The chicken was so moist and flavorful, as was all the shawarma. All meats were seasoned beautifully. The rice underneath was stunning as well and really caught all the juices from the meat on top. The roasted tomatoes, onions, and pickles were the perfect compliments to help freshen up the palette during the meal. The sauces were amazing and there was a clear favorite (the garlic sauce) which was annihilated by all four of us. Service was friendly! The guy and girl behind the bar looked at each other, laughed, and then asked if I was a paying customer. Keep in mind, I was literally holding a to-go bag with leftovers from the restaurant. I responded, "Yeah, I just finished eating," while holding up the bag that made it painfully obvious. Only then did they tell me where the restroom was. Nothing says "valued customer" quite like being interrogated about whether you actually ate there while carrying your leftovers. It's unfortunate because the food had some highlights, and the restaurant itself has a cute atmosphere. But the service made it feel like customers are viewed more as transactions than guests. Between hovering over us during payment and questioning whether I even belonged there after spending money, I left feeling more unwelcomed than satisfied. I'll happily support a restaurant that appreciates my business instead of making me feel like I have to prove I earned the right to use the restroom after paying for dinner.

I also ordered three sides of thousand island dressing and a burger patty for our fur baby. My fries were stale and seemed to have been refried. The chicken club itself was decent. Unfortunately, I developed a really bad stomachache afterward that lasted for the rest of the day. They certainly make a good one there for any burrito you want. Later on, i had the carne asada fries and they were melted beautifully with cheese and had plenty of guacamole. I forgot that it came with Cotija and sour cream but they barely put much into it. Perhaps they read my vibe when i walked in. The fries were crunchy and it was a very filling dinner. When I am in the mood, I know i can count on Blue Burro to cover my want of Mexican food from day to night.

After hearing several people rave about their pastrami sandwich, we decided it was finally time to give it a try. I'm glad we did. The pastrami sandwich was very good--tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. It came with plenty of mustard and was served on a fresh, soft bun that held everything together nicely. At around $17, the meal also included a generous serving of onion rings, French fries, or a salad, which made it a solid value. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. The only downside was the speed of service. We arrived around 7:00 p.m., and despite there being only one other occupied table in the restaurant, the food took longer than expected to arrive. That said, the quality of the food and the friendly service outweighed the wait. The pastrami lived up to its reputation, and I would definitely return to order it again. Next time, I may branch out and try some of the other items on the menu as well. If you're a pastrami fan and find yourself in Long Beach, Golden Star is worth a visit.

I bit into one, and, sure enough, barely any taste. Anytime my Onion Rings look like fried breaded orange peels, I know I'm in trouble. Good thing they supplied us with ample Ranch dipping sauce, or I might've just left the onion rings uneaten. Not really a place I'd eat at again, but, I'd be willing to give them a second chance.
