As most reviews read their specialty is pancakes and french toasts. Highly recommend sticking to that. From the 3 dishes we ordered the french toast was good. We ordered their Huevos rancheros (tequila sunrise) and breakfast tacos and did not eat neither plate. Personally I did not think they were picture worthy so I didn't get a picture of them. Personally maybe we are picky individuals but we could not enjoy our choices. The beans and tacos felt almost cold and bland just a couple ingredients mushed together. The french toast was tasty tho that would have been a perfect breakfast alone. Service mid

I am unwell. Was 0% prepared for the enormity of the situation. The pancakes are massive and the stacks are STACKED. Please consider sharing a plate with protein on the side, or be prepared to pack it up for another meal at home. These pancakes are fluffy and generous and incredible. No notes. Two of us split the banana pancakes and an order of the Peanut Bubba Crunchy French toast, which is dipped in a peanut butter crunch and topped with powdered sugar and whipped cream. And we have made additional meals out of them since. We also enjoyed bottomless mimosas, which you can enjoy for an hour and a half!

without a doubt, the griddle cafe is a staple and a must stop when youre in LA. Thankfully, living in LA I have access to this diner regularly. The portion size for the griddle pancakes are HUGE! My favorites have been the oreo, banana, and red velvet thus far! I always go for the sunset people omelete. They offer alcoholic drinks like mimosas or bloody marys that pairs well with your breakfast/brunch! The times I've come there is never a wait time, however, this spot is SUPER busy in the weekends so beware! 10/10!

Well, bad news first. It gets super crowded and there is often a line to get in and parking can be a bear. But the line moves pretty fast. Once in the service is pretty fast and they will get your order right. They are very nice and can guide you through the menu. They have vegan, gluten free, and vegan options. We have been there several times for breakfast and lunch. They have a full bar and it looks good, but we have never tried it. The place is very clean and cute. It is small, but it is comfortable and they have some outdoor seating and a counter. The food is so good. We love their pancakes and their French toast. They have huge portions and a wide selection of pancakes and French toast. My favorite is just their regular stack with eggs and hash browns. Their French press coffee is great. We also love their tea. My grandson likes their fruity pebbles crushed French toast. If you want sugar it may be for you. I tasted and said no I don't think so. Their banana pancakes are great. They have a big selection of pancakes as I mentioned. Their waffles are great and they have tasty syrup. They even have chips with a great salsa and whatever else you want. Have fun.

    Bigger than the fork

The Griddle Cafe does NOT mess around with portion sizes! Everything looked so good we couldn't resist ordering extra, but the pancakes are the real star of the show. Fair warning: ONE pancake is plenty! An entire order comes with two or three gigantic pancakes, so unless you want to see food go to waste, share a plate or order single pancakes. Absolutely delicious, just come hungry (or ready to split)!

This was my 2nd visit to this cute breakfast spot off Fairfax and Sunset. If you go on the weekend the line out the door is significant but we didn't show up until close to 1:30pm so were able to get seated pretty quickly. We ordered the Banana Pancake and Gone Shrimping dish to share and were so happy with our choices! The Gone Shrimping is "egg whites scrambled with shrimp, basil pesto, fresh basil, scallions, and chopped tomato. Topped with capers and served with garlic toast" -- so yummy! The banana pancakes were HUGE and honestly might be my favorite pancakes I have ever had in life. Highly recommend this spot!

Quick service and fast to be seated. Our waitress was really helpful helping us narrow down between several options. She however did not mention just how gigantic the portion sizes were. We ordered way too much. I got the berry yellow. I found it to be good but not great. There were far too many raspberry seeds in the pancakes which kept getting stuck in my teeth which took away from my enjoyment. I wish these were strained out of the raspberry jam. I also couldn't taste much lemon flavor, it came across more as acidity.

The Griddle Cafe absolutely delivers when it comes to the food. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, made fresh, and served in incredibly generous portions. You definitely get your money's worth, and it's easy to see why this place is so popular. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, it's hard to go wrong here. The quality of the food alone makes it a place I'd come back to. The ambience was lively and energetic, creating a fun brunch atmosphere. The restaurant had a constant buzz from how busy it was, making it feel like a popular local spot. While it could get a little loud during peak hours, the vibrant environment added to the overall experience and made it feel like a place people genuinely enjoy visiting. The service, however, was the biggest downside of our visit. While the restaurant was busy, the staff didn't seem very attentive or welcoming. It took a while to get checked on, and it often felt like we had to flag someone down when we needed something. The overall service felt rushed and a bit unorganized, which didn't match the quality of the food. Overall, I'd still recommend The Griddle Cafe because the food was outstanding and easily deserves a 5/5. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and if the service becomes more consistent, this would easily be one of my favorite brunch spots.

The Griddle Cafe famous for its giant pancakes and popular breakfast menu. One of the most memorable things about the restaurant is the size of the pancakes. They are extremely large and the stacks can be very tall. Because of the huge portions, many people share one order with friends or family The pancakes are thick, fluffy, and sweet, with many creative flavors like red velvet, chocolate chip, and oatmeal honey. Service is so good and fast but the wait outside is crazy on weekends. The waiters are attentive and always moving. It's so fast place . The location is very small but worth the wait. All the way on sunset

    Flaccid overly sweet French toast
    David F.

The mini French press was hot off the press - black as iron. The pancake was 12" across and 3" high - a massive success of sweet warmth. The French toast was a miss - flaccid and too densely packed with a rind of cinnamon sugar. The caballero burrito was outstandingly hearty and satisfying. A side of refried beans was a good accoutrement. Overall, tough to beat this breakfast in LA or NY.

the menu here is ridiculously long, and honestly, i wouldn't mind coming back a few more times just to try their other omelette dishes because the breakfast food here always hits! this was my 2nd time here, and just like the first visit, the place was packed. i've always ended up seated at the bar because of it, but honestly i don't mind. the staff still stay attentive even during the rush, and the busy atmosphere somehow makes the place feel more lively than stressful. during this visit, i ordered the Omelette My Soul with steak, and the portion was massive. i didn't even finish the whole plate because it was so filling, but it definitely satisfied my breakfast cravings. we also got the Black Magic pancake, which is stuffed with a generous amount of crushed oreos. i barely had room left after the omelette, but i still managed to have a decent portion of the pancake since it was too good not to. if only two people are sharing it, just know you're definitely taking leftovers home. overall, this is one of those places you go to when you want giant portions, comforting breakfast food, and a fun busy brunch atmosphere.

This is pancake heaven. They are bigger than the plates. I recommend starting off with one. Very heavy and dense. Soaks up the syrup like a sponge. Delish but I was full after three bites. My big back butt thought I could do 3! I got the Teacher's Pet with cinnamon and apples baked in. I also shared a potato scramble with my friend. French press coffee hit the spot! I was wired! One meal is shareable. Period. I ended up leaving with 5 to 6 pounds of leftovers, lol. Waitress was fine. Nothing terrible, nothing spectacular. I tipped well but can't remember her name. Parking can be challenging but I was blessed to find a spot in the front.

    Golden Ticket Pancakes
    Erin W.

I was a little skeptical when coming because the place was empty, but I was thoroughly surprised with just how good the food was. Interior gives more of a diner feel for sure! Our server was attentive and gave us a heads up on just how big the pancakes were, and yet I was still shocked seeing the size of them. I ordered the breakfast tacos and the Golden Ticket pancakes. The breakfast tacos were stuffed and had a great flavor to them, but be warned they are messy. The Golden Ticket pancakes were incredible, I wish I had a bigger appetite truly because I kept eating them well after I knew I was full. Highly recommend, definitely a memorable breakfast and they have a ton of different pancake flavors.

What do they serve that is gluten free?

No gluten free pancakes or French toast, but plenty of other breakfast and lunch options and can do some substitutions can be made too

Are you accepting walk ins on Sunday June 18?

The Griddle is walk in only. This Sunday is fathers day so I'd recommend getting there earlier then later. Hope this helps. :)

How do they handle groups of about 6?

Shouldn't be a problem. Expect a wait if going at peak times. Call ahead if possible. It's honestly worth the wait.

Do you serve, gluten-free pancakes, waffles, or French toast, or gluten-free toast/bread?

    Sadly they do not

Do you have to make reservations?

They don't accept reservations. When you arrive someone will put you on the waitlist and they'll text/call you when it's your turn to be seated.

How many pancake there are in one portion?

3 but they are HUGE! Bigger than my hand

    1. Is the Griddle still active? The phone number listed on Yelp and Google seems to be disconnected. 2. Is the Griddle back to it's pre-pandemic location or still at Yamashiro?

Yes, it's back at its Sunset location.

Do they have gluten free pancakes?

    Unfortunately, they do not.

Are they still at the skyline yamashiro?

    No not anymore.

They have bottomless mimosas listed on their menu as of May 24, 2022 with them being back at the Original Sunset BLVD location. Do they offer bottomless mimosas Wednesday - Sunday? Or just Saturday & Sunday?

    Valet Parking at all times

    What is their current location?

1999 N Sycamore Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068

    Are dogs allowed?

I seen dogs all types and sizes .

When do they stop serving bottomless mimosas?

Im not sure if they serve bottomless mimosas. When I ordered mimosas, they have always served a generous proportion. Such as a extra glass.

What is the current number for griddle cafe the one listed is not accurate?

Do they have any vegan options?

Just pancakes with maple syrup, sugar, chocolate, bananas, etc. (Don't know if they add eggs to the batter). Coffee

The restaurant is beautiful and reminds me of being in Mexico. A Spanish theme and style. The music volume was tolerable as well as the selection of choice. Felt like I was on vacation for a min. A great spot to have drinks. A great to spot to meet up or even come for a date. The Melrose Mule was cool. Very refreshing like the bartender mentioned. It was different than the usual mules I get. And the Improved Whiskey was like having an Old Fashion and Whiskey Sour together. It did not disappoint. I also had an attentive bartender who had a good attitude. Didn't take long for him to make my drinks nor put in an order for a smash burger. The smash burger was acceptable. It was good, however, I was expecting something a little bit bigger in size. I like the presentation with it being wrapped in foil. It was cooked perfectly, it was hot and flavorful. No complaints other than the size. I wouldn't mind pulling back up for another happy hour when I'm back in the area. They have some more drinks I would love to try.

The food was just as memorable. The chicken Parmesan was everything you want it to be: crispy, flavorful, and topped with a rich, perfectly balanced marinara and plenty of melted cheese. We originally…read morewanted to try another restaurant, but it was completely booked, so we looked for somewhere new to explore. Met Him At A Bar seemed like a good option, and one of my girlfriends made a reservation for four. Our reservation was at 7:00 PM. I street-parked and walked to the restaurant, where one of my friends was waiting outside. I asked why she wasn't sitting at our table, and she told me that our table was right by the entrance. She didn't like that spot and thought the tables farther inside looked much more comfortable and cozy. Since people were sitting at one of those tables, she wanted to wait until they left. Personally, I thought the table by the entrance was perfectly fine, but I was also STARVING! Another friend arrived and also disliked the table, so we decided to wait. After a while, I was getting way too hungry, so we sat at the bar and ordered an appetizer and drinks while waiting. I first ordered the Garlic Shrimp and asked if it was spicy. I was told it was, so I asked if they could make it without the spice because I can't eat spicy food. He said he would check with the kitchen, but since I was starving and it sounded like it might take too long, I changed my order to Garlic Bread. One of my girlfriends ordered a glass of wine, and since she had made the reservation and gone through the trouble of arranging everything, I treated her to the wine and garlic bread. Then, of course, our friend who is ALWAYS late arrived about 30 minutes late! By then, the rest of us had already decided what to order from the Dine LA menu. We wanted to try as many dishes as possible, so we ordered different items and shared everything. When our late friend arrived, we ordered his dishes separately. For the first course, we had Caesar Salad, Bruschetta, and Meatballs. For the second course, we ordered Rigatoni Vodka, Cacio e Pepe, and Margherita Pizza. For dessert, everyone ordered Tiramisu. Overall, I thought the food was good. My favorites were the Bruschetta, Meatballs, Rigatoni Vodka, and Tiramisu. The Cacio e Pepe was not my favorite because I thought they used way too much black pepper, and my other friends agreed. Our group had mixed reactions overall. Except for one person, the other two felt the food didn't quite live up to their expectations and were somewhat disappointed. But everyone's taste is different, so I completely understand. Considering how expensive everything has become these days, I thought the Dine LA price was pretty reasonable. It was $45 per person, and with tax and tip, it came to $60 each. For that price, I thought the amount of food and the overall experience were pretty good. I also really appreciated how friendly and attentive all the staff members were. I usually don't drink alcohol, and especially when I'm driving, I NEVER drink--not even a sip. That has been my personal rule for decades. So I just ordered water, and I loved how the staff kept coming by and refilling my glass whenever it got low. I drink a LOT of water, so I really appreciated their attentiveness. Now, about parking: valet parking is $17. I decided to street-park instead. One of my friends also street-parked, but unfortunately she got a parking ticket and was VERY upset. I had originally found a spot where a sign said a parking permit was required, so I decided not to take the risk and moved my car. Before leaving, I asked a man walking his dog if it was okay to park there. He said he had seen many cars parked there and they had been fine, but I still didn't trust it because the sign clearly said permits were required. I told him, "I don't think that's allowed." He was very nice and suggested going about three blocks farther, where there was plenty of street parking without a permit. I followed his advice and parked there. Unfortunately, my friend who stayed in the permit-only spot ended up getting a ticket. Another friend parked in the parking structure across the street and said it cost $18. Since I had parked farther away and didn't want to walk alone at night, I asked him to drop me off at my car after dinner, and he kindly did. So my parking recommendation is to use the $17 valet or street-park about three blocks away where no permit is required. I definitely would NOT recommend parking in the permit-only spaces unless you want to risk getting a ticket. One of the funniest things about this neighborhood is the restaurant names. The restaurant we went to is called "Met Him At A Bar," and literally right across the street is "Met Her At A Bar." There's also another restaurant called "The Night We Met." I have to say, the names are pretty creative and definitely make this neighborhood more fun! Overall, we had a fun evening together, and for $60 per person including tax and tip, I thought it was a pretty decent Dine LA experience.

When you walk in you'll notice a bookshelf, if you slide that bookshelf to the right, you'll open the entrance to the bar next door. Pretty cool! Will definitely come back again.

The place is so cool and oh, so fun! The Aviator is a magnificently decorated and themed airplane bar which has a first class and coach section seats that are exactly like being on a real airplane along with seat belts, trays and movable arm chairs and a Flight Attendant bell to request service! Food: we were treated to fries which were delicious! The Aviator offers a nice appetizer menu along with specialty drinks themed to the bar. We ordered Aperol Spritzes and they were delicious and refreshing! All reasonably priced too, yay! They have "cart" service too which added to the airplane themed experience! Service: Splendid! The Bartender and Flight Attendant were attentive and friendly! My friend and I had a blast of fun and plan to visit again soon! If you haven't been to The Aviator yet, plan to do so! You'll be glad you did!

Everything we ordered, from the appetizers and entrées to the desserts, was absolutely delicious. You can tell the chef takes great pride in every dish. Overall, I give this place 5 stars. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a wonderful dining experience. I'll definitely be coming back!

The outdoor space is still beautiful, but , unfortunately the LOUD music ruins the ambiance. People have to scream to hear their table mates. So we asked to be transferred indoors. Music still loud but less people screaming. the indoor space has been poorly maintained, floors are worn out, everything looks, well, old. Food: fried calamari... well cooked, tender, totally flavorless. Caesar Salad with chicken... VERY little dressing (we had to request more as well as salt and pepper, the chicken... dry as cardboard. The only good thing about this experience was the attentive waitress, unfortunately I didn't ask her name. What a disappointment!
