The Grove is a beautiful place to dine both inside and out. The dining room is very well decorated with lots of windows with views of the park. The patio is expansive with lots of shade from nearby trees. The service is good but perhaps too many people responding to your table. At times the servers were coming to the table asking the exact same question you had responded to with the last person three minutes earlier. The menu has many options offering cocktails and food. My dish was the Lamb Chops which were very good but you only get two. If you are looking for a hearty meal be sure to start appetizers. The beet salad was a tasty choice. My biggest negative from our visit was the wait time for our entree. With so many servers checking on you, the food order was lost. Our main dishes came forty minutes after our salad.
The photos don't really do the patio justice but it's so nice to be right in the she of discovery green and enjoying a tasty meal. Their burgers were so good and their ice cream flight was great to share with friends. The server was friendly and had some good recs for the ice cream flavors. The patio lighting was my favorite especially after a relaxing yoga session in the park.
I totally forgot to take pics of the food but I had their lobster, steak, braised pork, chicken nachos, tuna tar tar, and loads more. I just got so carried away in the flavors and vibes that I completely forgot to capture an image of the food which was delicately prepared with attention to detail. The service as over the top wit all of the staff checking on me and my friends repeatedly, telling us candid jokes and much more. I absolutely loved how big this space was too, there was over 100 people there both inside and outside. Now parking is a bit tricky as there is only street parking available. The valet also uses the street parking so when I tell you please use the street parking, do it. It's easy and plenty. I would recommend their steak and lobster.
It's really good here. Most of the time I'll try some place and think -eh it's ok- mostly when it's ok food. But this place, real special. Amazing presentation, each menu item comes out beautifully and tastes how it looks- amazing. The seasonal watermelon tartare left me wanting more and for sure need the watermelon sorbet in my home freezer, creamy and full of fresh flavor. My pork chops were cooked perfectly and had me scraping bone to get anything left. Mixability(when the sauce touches the other items on your plate and it tasting good still): 10/10. Sometimes a sauce can get on something and makes it not so tasty. Not here. The architecture and almost "blueprint" like drawings of the restaurant in the menu is a cool touch and love having the view of the grove/all the green outside. My food was served quickly but didn't feel rushed, everything brought to me at a good temp and brought out as soon as ready, sorbet was the perfect consistency and came right after my meal. I hope to visit Houston again soon and I'll be here--trying what they have next time. Very attentive and caring, from the host, my server, and a very nice job to the chef, you have a passion in your craft and it shows! If you're looking for an experience with your meal, this is where it's at.
The Cauliflower Koshary was exotic. It came with rice at the bottom and was a healthy filling vegetarian meal. I always appreciate when they go the extra mile to tell the ingredients to make sure I am ok with everything that is going into my meal. The presentation Ofcourse made me hungry instantly .... The side salad was good too. This time skipped the chocolate cake due to time constraints :(
Adventuring around the busy convention center lead us across Discovery Green to the Grove for lunch. Upon first walking in, it was as pretty as I thought it would be since admiring it from outside. We got the menus and honestly I was disappointed. For lunch, the cheapest items were around 20-30 dollars if you want a protein. The yelp page is full of great photos of good looking food. I got the cheeseburger which I wish I had done a size comparison. It was on the smaller size especially for 24. I guess that was due to the better meat. Though even with the cut, meh. I honestly wish they had more of the food back from the previous photos yelpers took. The sweet potato and kale taquitos had a better flavor and better value. The sauce was more along a marina-ish feel. Overall after going in and the current lunch menu, I won't be returning. The server was nice enough but not worth ignoring the mediocre overpriced food.
Came here right before the lunch rush and enjoyed my time here. We were one of the first to dine for Lunch that day so we didn't have a wait at all which is a plus. Service was amazing because there wasn't anyone there and most of the attention was on us. I ordered the strawberry salad and added the salmon and asked for the almonds or pecans to be removed as I have an allergy. The salad was delicious and it almost could have been a full bowl vs a plate but it was delicious.
First time at The Grove to celebrate the birthday lady. The service was great and the ambiance is really nice. I love how spacious the place is. Now, if you're vegetarian there are just not many options for you (us) on the menu which sucks. Thankfully for me I'm pescatarian sometimes (do we really need the labels?), so technically I could have indulged in a seafood entree. I ended up ordering the blue crab corn fritters and made that my meal along with that delicious ass bread! Y'all the bread and the butter is a treat. I'll go back just to order that and a beverage. I originally ordered a martini and it was an absolute no for me- it tasted like rubbing alcohol ahhh. Opted for a glass of wine instead. The margarita was good as well. Overall, The Grove was a good experience. They do give people celebrating their birthdays a free treat and I must say that the berries and cream dessert was delightful.
We walked in with no reservations. Four little girls were with us under the age of 10 and the restaurant staff made us feel very welcome. Such a good experience for them. Love the ambiance. Beautiful setting with the lighted figs plus the sprawling oaks outside. We had a lovely Prosecco to start with. The dirty martini was superb! The girls enjoyed the house milk rolls. And our server, Alcides, was so helpful! He immediately put in the littles' orders so their hamburgers would be ready first. The scallops were simply amazing! Caviar jalapeños olives yogurt fennel...absolutely perfected cooked. In fact, best scallops I've ever had! I ended this delicious meal with an Espresso martini - perfect!
Good food. Good table service. Good drink selection. There for a corporate dinner in early November this year. The high ceiling helps reduce the noise of a large open space. It would be 5 star if the hostess hadn't snapped at us over simple questions like asking for a menu that we needed to wait for our waitress who was really busy right now. The sarcasm that she would get to us when she possibly could wasn't lost on us. At most restaurants, the hostess seats you with a menu and this was odd.
Great restaurant. The pics in yelp of the restaurant don't do it justice. Really good food and service. Tried several dishes including the first time I've ever seen "fried" potato salad. While the potato salad was different it was actually pretty good. The food also went well with a great open concept restaurant that also felt quite airy with all of the windows that open to the park. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in Houston.
So, this is a place I will definitely have to revisit to give a complete review, however, this review would be based off of the charred wings and service, for the most part. We went here on a Wednesday night, so it was fairly empty. The set up of the restaurant was very intimate, which I liked. The lights were dimmed and the candles were lit. Unfortunately, we came to this place on a whim and I had already stuffed my face. So, my friend just ordered the wings, a drink, and a Corona. The wings definitely gave the appearance of tasty, but they were just average to me like they were missing a particular seasoning. It also gave the flavor that it may have been cooked alongside some pork, which I really wasn't a fan of. I kind of got the sense that since we ordered so little that the waiter was a tad in a rush with us. She bought the check before my friend was ready and while he still had the intent of ordering his last item, the beer. This may have been a one off experience. The rest of the food looked good and I've heard good things in the past, so I would be willing to visit again and give an updated review.
October 26, 2021 Came into town w/a friend from Galveston for the Van Gogh "immersive" art exhibit. But, first we needed to see the skull exhibit at Discovery Green. They were so cool. So, anytime we're at the green, we come have cocktails here! Sat at the bar and a few glasses of great wine. Beautiful day out too!

The Grove is a great place for drinks and eats with coworkers. Its has a dark, lively sports-bar atmosphere and can hold lots of people. No surprise here, since its located a few steps from Toyota Center where the Houston Rockets were playing. The surrounding area is in Discovery Green, sort of an urban park designed to beautify and revitalize downtown Houston. Our party of ten shared a few bottles of excellent Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, and the appetizers of guac and chips along with these awesome catch fritters (fried fish filet balls with some nice spicy kick). For entree, after having trout for lunch and dinner the night before, I opted for the NY steak. It was pretty juicy and flavorful, but I think the star is all those mushrooms layered on top which really brought the umami. I probably overdid the demi-glace which made the meat a but too salty. Luckily, I got some an excellent side of grilled sweet potato wedges to neutralize the savory dish. Those sweet potatoes were awesome - herby, sweet, with crispy exterior and soft interior. Dessert had lots of interesting options but I could not say no to Rooftop Terrarium, a gluten-free 10-component desserts. Three different sorbets, lychee, coconut, matcha, walnuts, nasturtium, brownies, and pistachios - oh my! Highly recommend this for a casual, solid dinner spot for a large group. The bar was quieter than expected - did not find out until later than the Rockets lost badly against the Mavericks. read more
Had an incredible lunch at The Grove today. Group of 8 had a business lunch and since we work nearby, we walked over (yes, had a reservation). The host was great as we changed our group size from 6 to 8. They took just a few minutes to re-arrange another table to accommodate us. Then we lucked out by receiving the BEST server - EJ. Truly this guy made our lunch amazing. His personality is friendly, fun, quirky - our whole group thought this guy was great and he really converted this business lunch into an experience! The food was scrumptious- both well presented and tasty! We had queso & guacamole appetizers. Both were fantastic but the queso was the crowd favorite. Meals were an assortment of items including fish tacos, seafood roll, burgers, and chicken caesar. Everyone enjoyed their meal although the burgers and seafood rolls got the most YUMS. Overall a really good lunch, food was great but have to admit- the service is what made it so memorable. We can't wait to go back, but now we MUST have EJ ! read more
We were trying to find a place for lunch and saw this as we were walking by. The place was packed for lunch. We were seated outside and given menus. The restaurant is placed in a beautiful location in the park. The server brought out waters for everyone and we placed our orders. The guacamole was amazing and the best hummus was unique and delicious! The ahi tuna poke bowl was amazing! packed full of flavor, it was refreshing yet filling. Very tasty! The cauliflower koshary was a treat for the eyes and the palate. Again, very flavorful dish with a variety of colorful vegetables that truly hit the spot. Highly recommend! read more

We love coming here for special occasions. Birthdays, graduations, etc. they do have private rooms for larger parties. The food is American cuisine and very reasonably priced. They have glass walls and your view is Discovery Green. There is a full bar and I need to come for just HH one day again read more
Food: 3 stars. Ordered ahi tuna poke. On the menu it says it comes with quinoa but what I got was very little quinoa and undercooked white rice. Tuna was marinated fine. But with the price tag of $17, it would be nice to add a bit more quinoa. If you add white rice into it, please at least cook the rice properly. Environment: 4 stars as it has modern & comfy furniture with floor windows. Service: 4 stars. One waiter & one waitress were serving us and they were attentive. Overall, 3.5 stars. read more

Came here for happy hour and dinner. Used the valet parking which was convenient. We ordered the bread & butter and crab fritters for appetizers and both were delicious. For my entree I ordered the filet mignon which was tender but personally I thought it could've used a little more seasoning. Finally, I ordered the chocolate cake to go and that was a bit disappointing- it tasted like a box mix you buy at the grocery store. Our waiter did a great job handling our group of 10 and the ambiance was nice. Definitely worth a try!! read more

I was thrilled to make a last-minute reservation for a late lunch here in between conference panels at a nearby hotel. We were famished but agreed right away that the Sweet Potato & Kale Enchiladas and the Cauliflower Koshary stood out on the menu. Enchiladas are a known quantity, bur I had never heard of koshary before: apparently it is Egypt's national dish and consists of grains such as rice amd quinoa covered in vegetables and a spicy tomato sauce. The staff very kindly split both dishes so we could enjoy half of each. The portions were generous and the food SO good. Beware the chilis if your palate is tender (I could smell the heat and didn't even taste them, while my table tablemate burned her tongue!). It was not too busy on a weekday, we enjoyed the view, paying was quick, and the pric3s were fair. I would definitely come back, even if only for dessert and a drink, which we sadly had no room for. read more

I was very impressed with this please . Very nice atmosphere and The service was great. Everyone was happy with their dinner . I personally order the filet mignon and it was delicious . I recommend to eat outside, specially now with all the Christmas decoration! So, so pretty! The only negative thing was parking . We try to valet and it was taking for ever, so we park and walked there, and to be honest walking by discovery green is always nice, so no big deal! read more

I visited the grove for lunch with a group of coworkers. The ambiance is nice, the service was a bit mediocre. I ordered the redfish BLT which was delicious! My coworkers seemed to all have enjoyed their meals. Will be visiting again for lunch to give this place another try. read more

My husband and I went here for dinner, when we were staying at the Marriot Marquis during our anniversary. It is notably in walking distance, and very easy to get to from the MM. It's located right in the middle of Houston's Discovery Green (Which is a park in the middle of downtown). Walking in it had a nice trendy vibe. Someone could definitely wear a sweater and nice pants, khakis, chinos, or a dress of any kind (in case you were wondering). On the menu there were many GF (Gluten free), and V (Vegan) options which is great. My husband and I ordered the Vegan enchiladas and were NOT disappointed. This might've been my favorite thing. The enchilada sauce was definitely homemade and had an ancho-chile like flavor, dark, and robust. The vegan cheese was melted on top and straight up DELICIOUS. As my main course I got the pork chops, which came with a super rich and tasty butternut squash. It was cooked to perfect, and my knife went through the center almost like butter. Honestly, I would definitely recommend this place. Shout out to our server EJ who was absolutely fabulous explaining the dinner menu, and the customizable options. We'll be back. read more

Looking for a nice relaxing restaurant with an outside view? The Grove is definitely where you want to be! My friend & I decided to check out The Grove because we wanted to have a nice dinner with a good outside view. Our waiter Zackary provided excellent service, he was very engaging & checked on us often. The food was pretty tasty & the decor was nice and simple. We were not aware that Houston Restaurant Weeks were extended, so we decided to try the 3-course deal. Everything from the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, Lemon Drop Martini, Texas Street Corn & Local Heirloom Tomato w/ Peaches appetizers to the 12oz Blackened Drum on the half shell, 12oz Tomahawk Pork Chop, Fried Key Lime Pie (reminds me of apple pie) & The Butterfinger (the key lime taste better) dessert was very tasty. We did not see these food options on their main menu, so I'm not sure if they will be there once HRW ends. You may be able to request it. Either way I hope you enjoy your experience just as much as we enjoyed our first time. read more
Great location. Right next to Discovery on the Green. Ambiance is great. Every dish in this review was delicious. Perfect portion. Homogenous flavors. Paired it with a great bottle of Pinot Gris. Our serve Jasmine was amazing. She provided great service, recommendation, and made our dinner an experience and pleasure. This is a must go back to anytime I am in Houston. read more
This is a gorgeous restaurant with an amazing location inside of Discovery Green in downtown. I parked on the street which was easy enough and very cheap, free after six and just a couple dollars if not. This place is definitely somewhere fancy enough for a first date but not edging into fine dining or anything too formal. Lovely interior and artful food. I didn't sit on the patio but I can imagine dining outside during the sunset would be amazing. The food and drinks however, left much to be desired and quite frankly felt a little overpriced. Drinks were about $14-$18 but were not tasty or memorable enough to warrant the price, I know the restaurant is beautiful but the drinks weren't worth more than $10-$15 in my opinion. The bread was delicious though, I will say that much. Very limited vegetarian options had me choosing this interesting cauliflower which was very bland and unfortunately ended up in the trash as it was borderline inedible after it was no longer fresh. Honestly I would come back and give this place another try though, but mostly only to enjoy the ambience read more

Came here for Houston restaurant week and man did we hit the jackpot. Jamie our waitress was amazing and very knowledgeable of the menu and flavors. She had great suggestions with the cocktails and food choices. The cocktails had premium liquor and was made to perfection. We had various cocktails and they all were great. What an amazing start. We ordered from the restaurant week menu which started off with salad. I had the garden greens salad with baby bok choy, cashew,sugar snaps, cucumber, avocado and ginger dressing. They grabbed my attention at the start. An amazing and delicious salad. For the entree, I ordered the NY strip with fried potato salad. Normally I am a ribeye kind of gal but this steak was flavored well and very tender. The fried potato salad was a nice surprise almost like a home fries with honey Dijon on top. Amazing. To top it off, I had the dulce de leche panna cotta. I cant even begging to describe how much this just ended a great meal. The panna cotta was creamy perfection with sweet flavoring of the condensed milk. A great meal and a great night. Kudos to the chef and establishment. read more

Took my friend here for her birthday and we were happy with our choice. I had a pork chop grilled with squash, best of both I've eaten. It was so delicious. My friend had a salmon with veggies plate that's was so yummy as well. The ambiance was classy and quiet and our server Collin was top top, attentive and funny. We would definitely go again. Totally enjoyed this place. There's also a big picture of a flower in the entrance great for photo op. Lastly, the cocktail 'new fashioned' was amazing! read more

The Grove really is all about ambience. It's in a beautiful park with great outdoor seating (when it isn't 100 degrees). The Turkey club was solid but it is on the very pricey end for a sandwich. Good quality stuff but just be prepared to overpay for location and aesthetic. read more

Dinner with my boyfriend at one of my favorite places! My ribeye was under-seasoned, but a few flakes of sea salt and some cracked pepper helped. Broccoli side was fantastic! Rich bleu cheese sauce made it silky and decadent. My boyfriend enjoyed the blue crab mac and cheese and, for dessert, the stout float, which was unique. He said it was delicious. We both enjoyed our wines: Zinfandel and Cote du Rhone. Service was extremely friendly, attentive, and personable. The noise-level was very loud, which was annoying, at times, as we had to lean in and yell at each other to converse. Some textiles throughout to absorb sound could make a difference! read more

Had my birthday lunch here on the day before Christmas Eve with my immediate family, and I enjoyed it! The place is beautiful, and features glass windows all around with views of Discovery Green. Suggested parking is the valet for $10. As for the meal, I ordered the roasted pork loin sandwich. Very moist pieces of pork and caramelized onions made my meal very satisfying, as well as the flavorful shoestring-style fries. My birthday drink of choice was the white sangria featuring several floating blueberries. Not sure if it paired good with my pork sandwich, but it was very light and not overly strong or sweet for a sangria. Will come back again possibly to rent the gorgeous private dining rooms! read more
Grove Mojito is 5 star . Delicious beverage and so refreshing. I also had the Southwest Burger, medium well, and it was divine!! Excellent flavors. The overall ambiance was also so great -- tranquil and modern. Would return here without a doubt. read more

I visited Sunday with my pops and I had the most delightful experience! This was my first, his second time visiting and I had no clue where he was taking me. We pull up and there were cars everywhere. Thankfully they had valet. Those guys were great! As we walk in and i see the greenery, modern decor and natural lighting, I think to myself "Now THIS is my cup of tea! How did I not know this place existed?!" I felt underdressed as I wasn't wearing a lick of makeup. And i had on mules. This place deserved more from me! Haha The decor is beautiful and the brunch buffet was amazing! Everything was fresh and full of flavor! The servers at the actual buffet were very informative which was great because I had tons of questions! Our actual server's name was Emmanuel and he showed us phenomenal customer service! He was extremely attentive and went the extra mile. He's such a pleasant man and has a noticeably sincere spirit. I hope he's my server every time I come. I have tons of people I want to bring in to experience this wonderful restaurant. Looking forward to their traditional dinner menu and happy hour. I heard nothing but great things about it. Note: the Brunch Buffet is only on Sundays from 11am-3pm and costs $35/per person. And If you get a mimosa, prepare to get at least two otherwise it's not worth it since the drink special is $15 with penny (one cent) refills. read more
Had heard so much about The Grove (good and bad) that I was curious enough to try it. My date and I met up at my place and drove the few miles it takes to get downtown. When we made it there, the valet attendants were very nice and immediately opened our doors for us and welcomed us to The grove. Valet parking is $8, plus tip. We walked in and as the hostess was occupied a gentleman (maybe the manager?) searched for our reservation and walked us to our table. I was not impressed with the decor as I thought it was rather simple. I did like the open feel and that the huge glass windows let great lighting in. It does have some kind of appeal to it. Our waitress was a little questionable, she kept repeating how everything was "retarded" today. I laughed at a few of her "retarded" comments, but was not impressed with her service. As we had heard that the portions were small, we ordered a salad-toast-soup combination each as an appetizer. My date requested the tomatoes removed from the salad, but Teresa (our waitress) suggested the Caesar salad instead. Somehow she screwed up the order and my date ended up with only the salad and no soup or toast, she corrected the order later. The house salad I had was OK, so was the toast. The soup however was very very good. I can't recall what it was called, but the taste was superb. I believe the waitress did say that all the ingredients used at The Grove are organic and purchased locally, I guess that may have been a factor to my soup being so delicious. We then ordered our Entrees. I ordered the fish and my companion ordered oysters. My fish was wrapped in some kind of paper, which really didn't help it's presentation or taste. The fish was OK, but it was missing something. I felt it was too plain. The Oyster dish was simply OK. I was not impressed with the food, the service nor the decor at The Grove. I think it's a great restaurant to go to on a date as discovery green romanticizes the experience. I however, would never go there for the food alone, I don't think it is worth it. read more
Came here for HRW brunch with a couple of friends. Food was 3.5 but the atmosphere and bottomless mimosas ($12 or $14? too many mimosas to remember) will keep me coming back. Important note: Do NOT order the chocolate, pistachio, black sea salt doughnut. I felt like a judge on Chopped while trying to saw through the dense dough and tasting this weird combination. Unappealing, gross, bitter, and trying to be too creative. The other dishes from HRW brunch: Corn & tomato salad - roasted corn! and I recently started liking goat cheese in my salads so I enjoyed this Deviled eggs - traditional deviled eggs with more corn BBQ brisket Benedict - yum! Biscuits were a little dry. Brunch classic - thick pieces of spicy bacon. Very fatty and not what I'm used to. Can't really go wrong with this dish though Maple bacon doughnut - nothing special. I like The Grove and it definitely has its place in my mix of restaurants I dine at, it just has to be the right occasion with the right people. First, when The Grove is at more than half capacity, the place is LOUD. So, don't bring anyone who can't handle the noise. The scenery is lovely all year round. We went in January on a chilly day and the trees through the walls of glass windows were gorgeous! I love that backdrop and makes for a beautiful lunch. The interior is really pretty and very open with high ceilings. Our service was good, but sometimes our server couldn't hear us because of the noise. There's a short list of places in Houston where I think the servers and other restaurant staff should get hazard pay because of the noise level, and The Grove is on that list. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately. The table was in the corner, but next to the windows which was fine. As our large group arrived, each person paid $8 for valet, which seems steep to me. I'd expect the valet to be free or cheaper than this. Brunch Appetizers: We ordered several appetizers for the table to share. The french toast balls were the best. They were reminiscent of more dense beignets and comes with powered sugar and syrup. The tempura battered shrimp and veggies were only just 'ok'. There were large slices of lemon battered and fried and hiding amidst the other items. I don't enjoy biting into a full slice of fried lemon. Does anyone? The quail skewers were also just ok with some super spicy peppers in between tiny pieces of quail. Brunch entrees: The french toast was good but nothing amazing. The side of bacon was large and was shared between two people. The side of roasted potatoes were good, but most definitely not vegetarian. I asked about them and the server told me they were roasted at the bottom of the chicken rotisserie area and the chicken drippings drop onto the potatoes. I'm surprised this info isn't on the menu. Overall the food is a 3 star experience with the view and decor above that. I'd definitely come back, but not with anyone elderly. We had two old men at our table (my father and his friend) who both took out their hearing aides because of the volume level in the restaurant. Be aware of the noise. read more

Good Afternoon Guys! Happy Labor Day! I've been itching to review the delicious food we've had over the last few days and a fav was @thegrovehouston My partner and I had been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got our opportunity. Last night we met a couple of friends for their awesome happy hour which hosted some great eats! Check out some of the awesome things we got a chance to taste on what I'd like to call our "tour of the grove"! Avocado Toast [v] - with creamy labne, black lentils, fresh tomato, thinly sliced radishes, rooftop basil, za'atar, and aleppo pepper for an added kick. All of the flavors complimented one another perfectly, this toast was like a party in my mouth, bursting with flavors. Deviled Egg - featuring smoked trout, pickled corn & chiles, rooftop dill, and a pickle juice vinaigrette. This dish wasn't a crowd fav but hosted a mix of interesting flavors that were worth trying for sure. Queso Fundido [v] - oaxaca cheese, kale, juicy mushrooms, potatoes, salsa verde, and served with flour tortillas. This dish was both aesthetically pleasing and packed full of delicious flavors that seemed to present something new with each bite! Shrimp Corn Dogs - two mouthwatering battered jumbo shrimp, mustard, spicy mayonnaise, and pickled banana peppers...listen these little babies were to die for but you only get two so make it worth your wild and go during happy our and load up! Chips & Salsas [v] - not much to say about this dish, but definitely not your regular salsa and chips. It comes with both a red and green sauce which both were delicious, but the green sauce took the cake! Creamy with subtle hints of cilantro and garlic it was surely a crowd pleaser! Bell Pepper Hummus [v] - topped with toasted almonds, with pickled bell pepper, mint, aleppo, and warm flatbreads. I didn't personally try this one but my friends enjoyed it! Quesadilla [v] - cute mini quesadillas with tender flavorful rotisserie chicken, oaxaca, wild mushrooms, salsa, guacamole, and crema...little bites of perfection. Local Catch Fritters - remoulade, tabasco honey, pea shoots, and lemon. These little bites were another fav. They boasted a light and crispy texture with a creamy center and tons of flavor! Smoked Redfish Dip - house crackers, toast, herbs, lemon, hot sauce...Guys this dip was like tuna on steroids and it was freakin delicious and rich in smokey flavors! Valentina Chicken Wings - valentina hot sauce, pepitas, popcorn, serrano, cilantro, salsa blanca...These petite wings had the perfect blend of spices and the popcorn was a cute added treat! Located in the heart of Downtown Houston near Discovery Green, the Grove was full of life. Their beautiful decor was inviting, the dining room was spacious, with floor to ceiling windows for a perfect view of the area, great service, delicious eats, and boozy libations. Initially we weren't sure if small plates buffet style for brunch would be filling or be able to serve the vegetarian at the table. Well, it was and it did. It was a kings feast and we all ate our hearts out. We had a great experience going to The Grove in Houston! Would highly recommend! read more
Night two in Houston! This place was really pretty but the service was a bit scattered and the food, hit and miss. Check out the pic of The Grove Picnic Platter ($16.00) - oooh the artistry of placing 5 pieces of salami, Hungarian sausage and pickles with dabs of jam and mustard - so impressive. The cheese, guacamole and salsa ($9.00) came with only a handful of chips. Also, the arugula and pear salad ($9.00) was a little gritty. But surprisingly, my entree was really delicious - for only $15.00 the Jumbo Lump Crab BLT was awesome! It was exactly like it sounds...crab, bacon, lettuce and tomato (with avocado!) on a bun and it was so tasty. Plus it came with a scoop of potato salad with BACON. Hi! So let's say I wanted to throw a surprise dinner party for a group of about 15-25...would you all be able to accommodate for that?
Yes! I did a graduation party for 15 and all I had to do you was make a reservation so they could have the tables set aside for us
Is there outdoor heating?
Shay - we DO have heaters available for our patio. They are mushroom heaters that we can put next to your table! We hope to see you soon!
