The fries look filled until you realize there's a cardboard boat taking up tray room. Wasn't impressed. Plus the cheese wasn't melting.

Just ok. Disappointed. Drove over and both my husband and I remember how big and delicious everything was. Not this time. Our table was dirty so my husband cleaned it for us. Then we got our order and for the price, just not worth it. The pastrami sandwich use to be big and overflowing with pastrami not so much. I was looking for the pickles inside. I definitely think the chili fries are way overrated and overpriced. You're filling the boat not the tray. So take away the boat and fill the tray then it's full otherwise the boat is taking up room making it appear to be larger. The floor was so dirty my feet stuck to everything. The Diet Coke was flat. Was the pastrami good, yes it was but just not the same.

On the outskirts of Victoria gardens. Plenty of parking available or drive thru option. Line wasn't too long and the wait wasn't either. Inside was very humid like walking into a sauna. Service was good. Self serve fountain drinks. Went for the gravy fries and tried the burger. I'll stick to the pastrami. Gravy fries had a good texture but needed that cheesy topping. It was over salty for our liking. The second hat experience I've had fell a little short but would give it another try.

Came on a Saturday afternoon was pretty packed but I ordered and got my food pretty fast. I ordered the pastrami chili cheese fries. The portion sizes are very big so me and my husband were able to share. The inside is OK. Our table was a little dirty, but we didn't mind just cleaned it off . We will be back

Had a friend up in big Bear who was craving pastrami from The Hat. This was the closet one before heading up. $13 for a pastrami dip! I don't know if I'd come to The Hat any other time unless someone else wanted it. I'm not a pastrami fan and the price is $$$, but got it for my friend. I went right when it opened. So many people already inside!! 1.5 hour drive up to big bear. Needless to say, my friend gobbled it up!

Menu wise, this place reminds me of Gus', R Burgers, Tom's, and Brandon's diner type of place. It is a popular place and gets busy during lunch hour. I got a turkey burger and the tomato slice was thicker than the patty. It was "alright" tasting. Nothing special, especially with that thick piece of tomato.

Delicious food! Generous portion size! Employees are always welcoming! Quite a few tables but they fill up quick during busy times. Not a first date kind of place as it is noisy when they are busy. Would recommend!

Yes yes YES! My family has been coming since forever, all because my Pops LOVED this place (not this specific location) when he first arrived to LA. So coming for a pastrami sandwich is very nostalgic. The meat is juicy and portions are massive for such a good price. I always get the classic adding lettuce and onions. Fries were meh, wish they were crunchier but their portion for a small is massive too! All in all I'll forever be a The Hat lover!

Super packed but was in and out of there quicker than I expected. But the food was soooo good, the potato salad was bomb too

The Hat is well known for their pastrami dip sandwiches but I go for their chili cheeseburger and the chili cheese fries. Their onion rings are also TOP tier as well. The chili cheese fries is a huge portion so definitely plan on sharing if you order those. This location is always packed because it's right next to the mall but the wait typically isn't too long. They have a good amount of seating both indoors and a couple tables outdoors as well if you want to enjoy some fresh air. 5 stars for delicious food and good service!

Just like any other hat location, This one looks and feel the same as others. There's a drive-thru, parking , and seats for everyone. You order at the counter, and pick it up at another. They give your food in brown bags because the quantity that they give is a lot and most likely you will take em home. Pro tip, ask for extra plates and utensils to help you eat better and if you want to do halfsies. Their fries, rings, are a lot. So going for a small ... is actually good for 2-3 people to share. They're known for their pastrami but you could also definitely try other stuff. It's pretty good so i only had half and gave the other away. Ambiance wise it feels like an old school diner. Granted the washrooms arent that well kept, you got booths, seats, inside and outside. Softdrinks are available and are unlimited just like other places. Definitely , you could go here for a late food night out. Good for sharing and is not as expensive as others places in terms of quantity and quality

I've been holding back on writing a review for this location, but after today I feel like I have to say something. I pulled up to The Hat here in Rancho Cucamonga by Victoria Gardens and the drive-through wait was insane. We waited about 20 minutes just to get our order, which is already pretty frustrating. What made it more disappointing was the fries. They were soggy, wet, and undercooked. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time it's happened either. If customers are going to wait that long for their food, the least that can be done is making sure the fries come out hot, crispy, and properly cooked. To be fair, not everything was bad. The pastrami was great and the hot dog was great--I'd easily give those an 8/10. That's actually why I keep coming back. But the fries really need improvement. If you're going to have people sitting in the drive-through for 20 minutes, the food should come out right. The Hat can definitely do better than that.

I grew up with The Hat in Alhambra, the original one. It's known for their chili cheese fries, but I could never order it because it's such a huge portion. It requires a large group to eat it, but it's super good. It's a must try! I don't care for too much pastrami but it's also decent here. I ordered a simple hamburger this time, it's actually a very filling burger. Fries were also hot and crispy. Sauces are now required to ask the workers for them instead of being self-served. They have horseradish, mustard, ranch, ketchup. Their Pina Colada Bang is decent - but a bit too sweet

There's nothing like the wet fries (aka gravy fries) from The Hat. They're so simple, yet so good. We came by and grabbed wet fries, the pastrami sandwich, and a chili burger and were very happy with what we got! The pastrami was perfectly balanced with the pickles and mustard. As for the chili burger, it was good, but do yourself a favor and fork and knife this, it's messy! The service was great as usual, just be aware when going in the drive thru that the speaker is LOUD when you order, you may need to plug your ears. We didn't go inside this time, but the restaurant is always clean and has a nostalgic feel. We'll always love and recommend The Hat, this place is definitely a favorite of ours!

    Is there curbside service?

    They have a drivethru

Does this place In force mask. Cause I was there on Friday 12 and there was someone without one and none of the worker or person in charge said anything?

I know everyone had on a mask when i was there a week ago. the manager did ask someone who had forgot theirs to please put one on. i think it is hit and miss. i felt safe sitting outside and eatin.

Where do they get their meat.. do they actually roast it in-house?

That's a good question, I've never asked. But it's pretty darn tasty and they sure sell a lot of it.

Are the French fries gluten free? I'm not worried about cross contamination.

    Yes.

It's just as described by other reviewers...Chipotle style establishment with Mediterranean food. The servers work like an assembly line, serving you at different stations. The staff were not overtly friendly. They were just very matter of fact, asking you whether you want rice or salad. The line was very long when we arrived around 6:30 pm but it seemed to move pretty efficiently. I was happy to see that none of the items I wanted were "all out" which often is the case when you go to a Chipotle or custom pizza place like Blaze. The only thing I noticed was that there was litter all throughout the restaurant since the workers appeared to be tied up serving and making food. We got a kids build your own and a bowl. They packed it in with everything we wanted. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Dinner was so refreshing. One of my fave items at Cava is their pita chips. I can't wait to go back!!

Well this message is for corporate not the staff following the rules. The customer is the only reason you have a business. Being flexible for your customer is the only way you stay in business. Let's talk about basic unit economics. These are assumptions, but it's designed to prove a point. An average bowl at your establishment will cost you about $3.00. You are going to charge me about $10 before tax for that bowl. That's $7 in profit. If your rule is only two base ingredients, and a customer asked for a third (arugula)... give it to them... you have enough margin to absorb an $0.11 handful of arugula. Why risk angering the customer? Especially when the customer didn't get all the options they could have gotten, no dips, not veggies, just base (leafy greens/rice) and meat... meaning my bowl probably cost you sub $2.00 oppose to $3.00. You have plenty of margin to give me a handful of arugula. Regardless of the unit economic numbers being accurate, you have plenty of margin otherwise you could not operate. If you can't afford to give the odd customer an extra base here and there, close your doors and go back to business school. The customer is the only reason you have a job, keep them happy and coming back. Remember that. I have been coming to Cava locations across California since 2017. I have spent thousands of dollars across that time at Cava. Some weeks I'd eat at Cava 5 to 7 days in a row. And I've never had a problem getting the bowl I desired, until now. This one experience has lost you the future thousands I would have spent there with my family. All over an $0.11 handful of arugula. I WILL NEVER GIVE MY MONEY AGAIN TO A COMPANY WHO DOES NOT VALUE BEING FLEXIBLE FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS... You don't want to keep your customer happy, you don't want my money... I hope for the day I read the headlines that Cava is closing locations and is going out of business.
