As my reviews normally begin, let's start with the good ... There is none. I ordered a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries and I genuinely didn't think it was possible to make food this bland in my life. I mean how do you even manage to make chili and cheese taste like straight up nothing? There was no saving my meal. My burger? It was literally just two cold stale buns straight out of the plastic packaging which sandwiched the burger toppings and a nice stiff cold piece of cardboard that i'm assuming is supposed to be the meat. I'm beyond disappointed and will not be coming back. The only reason i'm not giving this place a 1 star review is that I haven't gotten physically ill from consuming their food.. yet. Came by during lunch on a weekday, and it was super busy. We ordered ahead, but it still took a little over 20 minutes to get our food. I'm not a big fan of pastrami, but my husband said the sandwich is decent--though he said he prefers the chili cheese fries. The onion rings were my favorite! Never believed in too much of the hype around The Hat, however, we were hungry late with limited options in the IE and were craving chili cheese fries. We decided to give The Hat a try and we're pleasantly disappointed. We had ordered chili cheese fries and added onions. I'm not sure if we were the first people to ever add onions to chili cheese fries, but they threw a bunch of large onion slices on top of the fries. The portion was huge, and the chili and cheese were actually surprising good, however, the fries tasted like they were cooked this morning and sat under the light for 9 hours staying warm. The fries tasted like they were refried and were so hard they sounded like potato chips. I took the order back and let the cashier know what happened. She said okay let me make you some more. No apology, no empathy, nothing. "No thank you, I will take a refund please. " She took the fries threw them in the trash in front of me. Asked me if I had the card I paid with, gave me my receipt, and told me thank you. Thank you for what?? I asked if I could speak with the manager because I noticed most of the staff were just hanging out behind the counter talking and chilling, which is fine. But why can't I get some fresh $12 fries?? Cashier told me the manager was on break so I left. As I was leaving I noticed how disgusting the inside of the restaurant was ( we ordered drive through). ​After years of driving by during visits to see family in the area or through to Vegas, I finally stopped by for lunch recently. It was lunchtime during a holiday weekend, so the dining room was mostly full (along with a long line in the drive-thru). But there was parking available in the lot, so my wife & I dined-in. We each order a pastrami dip and shared the chili cheese fries, along with fountain sodas. Even though there was a steady stream of customers going through the line, our food came up very quickly. The first thing I noticed was that the order of chili cheese fries was HUGE! If I had known ahead of time, we would only gotten a single sandwich with the fries. Instead, we tried our best to defeat our meal. While we did devour the pastrami dips, we could not finish the fries. But the pastrami was some of the best I've had in the area, and the chili on the fries was perfect. Next time, we'll know better (or we'll just get some onion rings instead). This location is open late (until 1 AM), so I can see myself stopping in on the drive to or from Vegas. Way better than any other late night options in the area. read more

I've been attending fan of the pastrami from the Hat for more than 25 years now. Introduced to me from my colleagues when I worked at Ontario airport in the late 1990's. Simply some of the best pastrami I've ever had. A few months ago I discovered that The Hat and Tommy's hamburgers get their chili from the same supplier and that it's the same recipe. So now I don't have to choose between a Tommy's chili cheese burger and a pastrami sandwich from the Hat. I can Simply order the pastrami, chili and cheese fries from the Hat and have the best of both worlds. Yes, it's a little pricey for an order of fries, but it can literally be a meal for 2 people. Absolutely delicious, as always. While I couldn't finish the order I definitely ate every bit of pastrami, as much of the chili as I could manage, almost every Shred of cheese and a fairly good number of fries. I was completely stuffed and didn't have room for another bite. The Hat also serves orange bang. So you better believe that I had an orange bang for my drink while I was there. The Victoria gardens location is convenient, easy street access and has a drive through. So you can get your pastrami fix without even having to leave your car. I'll be back for sure. read more

The pastrami is excellent! The one thing we always order when we're here is the pastrami chili cheese fries. Just be ready with a few extra people because it's gonna take all of you to finish this. A must is you have to order a side of gravy to dip it in that's key. Had never heard of this restaurant but an old boss of my from a previous job treated the employees. I remember how good the fries were. I'm not into pastrami but the hubby is so we gave this location a try. It's a big beautiful restaurant. I could tell by the volume of cars in drive thru that this place is a hit. Love the decor inside and outside. To hold a volume of 96 people in the dining area it sure was spacious and organized. I absolutely adored the contactless fountain drink machine. That was totally cool!!!! I love the fact that the team members had their own space to take orders and prepare them. The food was absolutely delicious. It can be pricey but boy it's worth it!!! The hat is iconic. The prices are insane compared to just five years ago, but that's how it's like everywhere. We got two pastrami dips and the pastrami chili fries the cheese, and it never disappoints My son loves the orange cream soda as well as the pineapple and would go there for just a drink. On a rainy Saturday night I was getting off of work and thought hmmm.. not really craving anything fast food & it's far too cold to dine in let me go on google and see what's available. I noticed they didn't close till 1 am and they seemed to have pretty decent reviews, so I figured oh heck why not let's give it a try. (Grabbed a handful of the yellow peppers too for that extra umfff) haha ;) when I walked in people were dining in, there were orders being placed through the drive thru, and the ambience seemed to be lively. The girls up front were charming and they had my food ready in minutes. I ofcourse asked for a few ketchup packets and they actually ended up giving me a handful so that was kind of them. As I walked out I felt pretty optimistic about my decision. Once in the car I was ready for my meal. I ordered the Pastrami Dip because that is their specialty. How could you not with "featuring World Famous Pastrami Dip" in huge font on the menu board? It was the right choice.
