The Hat, and to be more specific their chili cheese fries with pastrami, has to be one of my favorite comfort foods ever. At a price of ~16$, you get more fries than you can probably finish as one, and to be completely honest, me and my SO feel extremely full eating just this together so it definitely is worth the buy on its own. Their pastrami, although pretty greasy, is always nice, juicy, and tender. And they really pile it on. I personally only ever had it on their fries, but I can totally imagine it being good on a lot of their other foods (Although I do not think I can ever order anything but these fries). Although their fries are technically not the best fries I have ever had, it all works together so well as such a nice fast diner food that I always find myself craving it once a month. Not sure why they call it a dip because it wasn't served with au jus. My daughter thinks it's because we asked for rye bread and it's normally served on a hoagie roll. We ordered onion rings and fries. The fries were nothing special but the onion rings were good. The pastrami has great flavor although the meat wasn't piled high like normal pastrami sandwiches. Some of the best fries I have ever had! I have been coming here for years but have noticed that the quality of their sandwiches have gone down in the last couple of years and the price has gone up. Now, I get inflation, rising costs and all, but the sandwiches seem to have gotten smaller over time. Oh, they still taste great, just smaller. For $9.99, I would have expected a bit more. Yep, pastrami dip. One size fits all, well it does if you can eat a lot. Good sized portions on both the sandwiches and the fries. It's best to come here with at least 2 people, 3 or more preferred. That way you can get the fries and not feel guilty about leaving more than half after you are stuffed. Easy parking here, nice sized lot, a bit farther from the freeway than I thought but worth the drive if you're in the mood for pastrami. This is the 2nd time I went there, was craving pastrami, the first time we went was through the drive thru late at night so we decided to try it during indoor dining.
