If I could give 6 stars I would. It's a beautiful little place on broadway. The menu is perfect with traditional sort of diner stuff as well as some kosher treats. I wish I remember the name of our server because he was really great and accomodated a last second request. I had a burger - perfect diner burger. My wife had the chicken fried chicken. Both were awesome. We enjoyed a perfectly frosty frozen margarita. with our meal and the chips and pimento cheese dip. the atmosphere is really hip. They have great music playing too. I wanted to write a positive review. But I couldn't. The waiter was rude, horrible when it came to helping us with selections as it was our first time. They don't even have wrapping cutlery/ place napkins so make sure to bring your own. The blue Hawaiian came out in easily the smallest glass size I've seen. Picture for reference. Finished it in 4 sips, for 11 bucks... not worth it. Brussels were soggy. Food came out incorrect twice. Can't recommend this place. Edit for owner: your mistaking a honest review for trashing your restaurant. I was looking for something to put over my lap to eat and was given a tiny cocktail napkin, that didn't fold out. When I asked for something I was rudely told "these are then napkins". Only for him to bring out larger napkins 15 minutes later. It was the interaction that was rude. On the burger he tried telling me at first that it wasn't the hayden sauce, and a separate sauce. We had to actually ask him to remake it, that option wasn't offered at first. It wasn't until someone else came out that it was fixed properly, and they admitted it was Hayden sauce... Had to ask him for mustard three separate times as well. I've been to a ton of bars, had tons of drinks, the contents on the blue Hawaiian didn't even fill half of one of your water glasses. I get what your trying to say, but chispas for example have more alcohol, and they are served in glasses 3-4 times the size, for cheaper... On the fence of 3 & 4 stars. Mostly because there's a lot more on the menu to try. This place was different & I don't mind it. I didn't realize it's considered a "Jewish delicatessen w/ south Texas flavor. Interesting. Started with a "mimosa kit" which came with a bottle of champagne & juice of choice. We chose grapefruit. Champagne was ok. A little brut for my liking (even though I was told it wasn't). You do have the option to upgrade the champagne at cost, of course. I'd likely upgrade next time. For brunch, I decided to have biscuit and gravy. Menu doesn't explicitly say it would be brown gravy, so that was different when it got served. Gravy was pastrami gravy. It was different. But good. Cheddar dropped biscuit sitting under two perfectly over easy eggs was good. It paired nicely with all the richness surrounding it. I want to try it with the chicken sandwich next! Overall, although I liked my dish, I do t think I'd order it myself again. My friend had bagels & lox and was satisfied. Ordered sweet potato tres leches for dessert and it was just ok. We took a few bites and I brought the rest home (it's still in the fridge). Service was good. Our waitress Tatiana was friendly, provided menu suggestions & was attentive. Everything we ordered for dinner was delicious, down to the soft serve ice cream and sprinkles. Our server, Arthur, was kind and friendly - so was everybody else working tonight. We had some of our favorites, and they were just as good as the original spot. We always have to have some matzo ball soup, and the pastrami sandwich always hits the spot. Nice clean fresh space. The service is friendly and fast. I've been to the Broadway location and the service was kinda spotty, but this location is top-notch. I tried a Latkes and I highly recommend the apple sauce. I had two cocktails. The Cel-Ray is a refreshing and sweet Gin & Tonic and the Hayden cocktail has a lovely hint of melon. They are strong. Definitely will be back this summer to try some more cocktails and menu items. read more

1st time visit. I came in midweek around 2:00 not a single customer at the tables, 2 people sitting at the bar. I was very specific about the glass of Ice tea I ordered. Unsweetened with lots of ice and 2 lemon wedges. What I got was a watered down tea glass with the ice already melted, 2 lemon slices tossed in. No coaster, straw or tea spoon. I asked for another glass of ice and some cocktail napkins. Before she got them she asked if I was ready to order. So I dug the lemons out with my hand waiting for a napkin to place them on. I knew right there I didn't want to spend my money there. I left. The food may be great but to me it's also about the service and training that you give your employees. read more

My daughter and I went for the brunch today and left very happy and full! We shared a perfect, savory bagel and lox and also split a single Hayden cake with blueberry compote and sliced almonds, which was so delicious! The blueberry compote was house made and not overly sweet. We each had an expresso martini, which wasn't on the menu, but they made them for us anyway. There was hardly any meat and it did not have that delicious fresh pastrami taste you expect in a pastrami sandwich. There was more bread to the sandwich than meat. The 2nd (and new) location for an already wonderful dining experience at The Hayden. Their saying is "it's all Rye, at The Hayden"; well, it's ALL good at The Hayden! The menu offers something for everyone. Great appetizers, fun drinks (non-a and cocktails) and friendly service. This restaurant has become a staple for our family and I'm excited to now have a location a little closer to our home. First time trying this place. I had heard good things and I have to say beyond disappointed. Ordered the chicken biscuit and both were over cooked and super dry. Our waitress was also the bartender which created delays on everything. The waitress asked us to sign up for rewards. I said we would probably not be back. She laughed and went to the back to tell other staff members and they all started laughing. It's a shame for the owner that they have employees that don't care about their business. read more
