Asked waiter about - he replied that was garnish "from the bar" - ??? I took photo of the lime slices - a maraschino cherry on top would have been nicer, if you had no limes, people. The first time I ate here the pastrami sandwich was amazing. The meat was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The bread was toasted but still soft. It was definitely one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I returned today and the same sandwich was awful. The sandwich was the opposite of what I've had before. Always on the lookout for a delicious pastrami sandwich. But to my disappointed after a $20 charge our sandwich's were extremely greasy the rye bread was toasted with butter or just plain grease. Sandwich came with Swiss cheese which was plain burnt on. The pastrami was in pieces not appetizing and covered in mustard. I purchased two but couldn't get through half of one. I'm a big fan of The Hayden on Broadway, and this was my first visit to the new location! I went around 12pm on Friday and it was pretty busy inside, but the outdoor area was nice & had plenty of shade. I had the breakfast sandwich, which was great and very similar to ones I've had before at their other location. I had the espresso martini for the first time and it was so good- I'll definitely order it again! Service was awesome- I'm used to sometimes seeing your server less if you sit outside at restaurants, which I don't mind since I know they're busy inside, but my server Jacob was very nice & checked up on me a lot. :) read more

Great service but way too expensive. I was served the equivalent of a lame side salad with about 5 bite-sized pieces of grilled chicken for close to $20. Not even a little bit worth it. No way this place deserves a low rating, sorry. It's beautiful, the ambiance is great for brunch, lunch or dinner and it's got a cool, young vibe that is paradoxically ageless. The food is incredible and creative and sure, if you want your fried Texas fantasy you can have it but that's not all you can choose from. For some hilarious reason it's "Larry David themed" (Not just Sienfield mind you) and that's both adorable and quirky. Still, you don't even have to like the show to enjoy the welcoming, kinda trendy spot. My friend and I had been wanting to give this restaurant a try so we came to dinner for the first time. I arrived first and was seated fairly quickly. My friend arrived 5 minutes after I did. We sat there for a long while before being acknowledged and the patrons to the left and right of us had been waited on. The restaurant wasn't very busy at the time we arrived and we literally saw 3 or 4 girls just standing around not waiting on anyone for the entire time just hanging around near the bar area to the left. It felt like we were invisible. It took almost 15 minutes for a server to bring us water, menus and introduce herself as Amanda. We ordered drinks and again, it wasn't busy. The bartender was chatting with a woman sitting at the bar and seemed to be inspecting the glassware. I even saw him smelling the glasses at one point. He didn't seem to be making drinks for anyone so I didn't know what was going on there. Amanda had already taken our food order and it was another 15 minutes before I asked her about our drinks because it was obvious the bartender wasn't making anything. He finally got started on them when she went over and stood at the bar. The service was very, very slow. We finally received our drinks and later received our entrees. The food itself was really good. I was disappointed that our server had to be flagged down to refill our water even though she gave water to the table next to us just seconds before. After a long and stressful work week, my friend and I just wanted to have a nice dinner and drinks, but choosing to come here wasn't the best ending to our week. I had high hopes for this restaurant but the service here is lacking and we won't be coming back. This was our first and last visit. A note to management: First impressions are important to most people, so why not make an effort to show your young staff that good customer service still matters. read more

I was there the other day from a review that had caught my attention. The person had said it was as good as katz in New York, if not better. So I had to try it out for myself. I ordered the classic pastrami on rye and my wife had ordered the Ted Danson sandwich. All I can say it did not lived up to the hype. Maybe they had a new sandwich maker that know how to apply the condiments. My wife had taken 2 bites and was disappointed. I too wasn't pleased with my sandwich either. I figured paying 20.00 for sandwich should be good, but my expectations were wrong. My I suggest try using boars head deli horse radish. Don't use what ever mustard you're using. It takes away the flavor of what a great tasting pastrami sandwich should be. Maybe I'll have to go to the original location and try it again. read more
