Great start to a new restaurant! Got to meet Chef Chris while we were there and the Manager Eddie. Chef was great and spoke about new food ideas they are working towards. We came here for lunch. There were 5 adults and 1 child. No one really loved the food but they charged us 20% for a large party fee. In all for 6 meals, we were charged almost an extra $30!!!!! I know normally they charge gratuities over 8 people but not 6. I'd go elsewhere before being charged to eat with a few people. read more

11/10/23 at 1:10pm - We sat on the patio. First off the server did not know what types of tequila they had. Second we had our kids and ordered ASAP for them. Our food took one hour to arrive and there was literally no one there. Other tables got up and left waiting for food to come. The issue I have is the lack of communication and lack of accountability. Eventually the manager said there was a printer issue but not before we complained to the hostess and server. The food was not great. I would NOT recommend eating here. Also the bathroom was gross, quality of the toilet paper was jail cell quality. It really is the little things that go a long way. read more

We had a great time at The Hideout. It was our first time there and it will definitely be our go to place, especially when the weather cools off and we can enjoy the outdoor patio. The atmosphere is fun, the service is top notch, and the food is delicious. Two in our group had burgers, I had the lamb burger which was fantastic, and one had the Tikka Masala. We all loved what we ordered. Watching the food being delivered to other tables, we are anxious to return and try some other items. Wow what a dinner! I ate here with my family on a Monday night and we sat outside. Outside seating was super cute and comfortable. Our waitress McKenzie was fabulous. She was attentive, friendly, and she frequently checked in on us. Couldn't have asked for a better server!Both the chef and the owner came out to check on us, and make sure we were doing great. For dinner we had a calabrese Spianata pizza, mandarin chicken salad, kids pepperoni pizza and the spicy pizza. All of them were delicious!! My son had the calabrese Spianata pizza and he declared that it was the best pizza he had ever had in my life. (And he has had many pizzas in his life!) He is not a big crust fan but this crust was extra special. The pizza is wood-fired and I highly recommend this dish. My daughter got the kids pepperoni pizza and she was amazed. The dough was absolutely delicious!! My husband had the mandarin chicken salad which was super tasty. The salad was super light. I had the spicy pizza and it was AMAZINGGGG!! It came with some lettuce on top which is always great. Amazing food, and such a variety. There is definitely something for everyone. I would highly recommend the pizza though, as it seems to be their specialty. Overall, this was an amazing dinner. The service was simply amazing. In summary: Not impressed. Save your money, and go elsewhere, there are way better restaurants on El Paseo. The service was terrible and the food did not match the price point. We went to the hideout on 06/04/24 at about 6pm, with a party of six people (not a large party). The restaurant seemed moderately busy but not packed. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala for $30 and my wife ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli for $47. I also ordered a vodka cranberry drink for $14. We waited for over an hour for our food to arrive, and when it did, they completely forgot the order (a personal pizza) for one of the other people in our party and he had to wait another 20 minutes for his food to arrive. We also had to practically send up a flare to get our drinks re-filled. The Tikka dish was okay, definitely not authentic tasting, but also not bad. The Steak on the other hand, was a giant disappointment. It was bland, the mashed potatoes were watery and bland, and the broccoli was overcooked. My wife seriously said she's had better $15 steaks at Norms. Lastly, my $14 Vodka Cranberry was also a huge disappointment. It was in a tiny glass, maybe 8 ounces tops, and half ice, and I'm pretty sure there was no Vodka in the drink at all. The other folks in our party had the whiskey smash and at least that drink was decent they said. When it came time to pay, they tacked a forced 20% large party tip on our bill. I'm sorry, but six people is not a large party and I was disgusted that we were forced to pay a 20% tip for absolutely horrible service. We will never go back to this restaurant and I encourage you to skip it too. read more

The place makes you feel like you're at the beach! Nice setting, looks clean and well organized. The staff were very respectful and I believe the owner greeted us and asked us how was everything when we finished eating. We loved that he cared to ask. This is a small but interesting little venue. Photos of past mafia bosses are seen throughout the restaurant. The menu is simple, and our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and their fries are home made. However it took a very long time For the food to arrive. My husband ordered the French toast, it was tasty but the portion was very small. Another group of people, near by complained that their food was too cold and were upset that they had to wait so long for it to arrive, they ended up getting their order discounted by 60%! This Hideout was such an incredible experience and we are so happy that we had dinner here. Parking was easy to find. We were a table of 7 with kids and everyone left happy. We all tried different things from the menu and it was fantastic! The pizza was pretty tasty and our favorite was the bbq pizza. Our highlight was the avocado fries. Was delightful. The sauces at the Hideout are out of this world! Delicious and I wish they would bottle the sauces! The staff at the restaurant were very warm and welcoming. The ambiance was very relaxed cheerful. We were excited to try the hideout after its recent remodel. We have always enjoyed their food but this time was pure disappointment. We went last Monday for lunch and the service was terribly slow. Food came out at different times for a party of two and the bottom of the sliders were so burnt they were not edible. Considering it was a Monday and slower than most other days, it was sad to have such an experience. Not sure we'll be back anytime soon. I will say the hostess was very nice and the new bar looked great. They just need more qulified help. read more

At 6:15pm, restaurant was deserted when we entered. A couple at the bar were only other patrons. Red flag, but we decided to try anyway. Server was friendly, but seemed very inexperienced. Did not know offhand what was available, drink choices, etc without first checking elsewhere. After we ordered, about 15 minutes pass before we are informed that the mains we had ordered (salmon) was unavailable. We had to reorder. Food was decent. This place is a good place to go for to change it up. Use to be Sammy's Woodfire Pizza. They have redone the inside with Bonnie and Clyde photos, and the menu drinks reflect this. Pretty cool. We had great service. Their menu is small but the food is good. We had buffalo wings. However, they didn't have blue cheese, odd but not a deal breaker. Completely rude hostess. Made us wait and never even called us like she said she would when our table was ready. I had called in advance to make sure there was availability. They said there was a bit of a line but it was moving fast. So come on down. When I got there within a couple minutes, she said it would be a long wait. And I mentioned I just called bc this is what I wanted to avoid. She just scoffed and said "it's not guaranteed".... And then never even bothered to call us for the table lol. Wish we would've passed on this spot. My margarita was awful - it tasted like it was made with tap water, the mozzarella on the caprese salad was dry like it had been frozen and thawed out, and the roasted chicken was so dry we sent it back. On top of it, our server disappeared after she took our order and even though we had 4 empty glasses, the runners and other servers never offered to get us more water. Also our plates just stacked up. Definitely needs more training on service. There are lots of options on El Paseo, I'd recommend skipping this one. read more
