I went into the store to pick up a workbench I ordered online. Got the email notification and went to get it. The woman at customer service was very nice and got the item right away. It was missing a part, but they quickly got it from another one that had not been assembled yet so I would not have to come back. The manager and another employee helped me load it. Worst customer service EVER!!! Ruined my Christmas surprise for my husband! Bought a 1k purchase online to come in to pick up and had to call to find out they couldn't fulfill my order. I asked if they could get it shipped in or if another store had it in stock. All I got was a rude NO from a unprofessional girl with an attitude. Before we could even try to fix the problem she had already initiated a refund(which dinged my card, which notified my husband of a large purchase refund :( So I had to tell him) I called all over town and found one in Palm Springs. A gentleman I spoke to said they should have done more digging, since I had already purchased the item. Won't do business ever again with Indio Home Depot!!! read more

Do not purchase cabinet refacing through Home Depot. If I could give them a negative score I would. They sub all work out, take the money up-front and NEVER follow up. Go through Lowe's instead. Save yourself the thousands of dollars in costs and hassle. Salesperson Ray Dohse, who covers Indio & La Quinta was awful. He over charged, did not prepare a change order, return calls or provide a the refund for more than a month until corporate was involved. The entire inland empire division management doesn't return calls or texts. They never called to schedule when materials arrived. We called to schedule the install daily, for more than a month and a half. We had to involve our lawyers and prepare to pursue a fraud claim w/Riverside County when Home Depot FINALLY agreed to do the job we paid for SEVERAL MONTHS EARLIER. The whole thing is a scam. They take the money, go silent and force the buyer to become frustrated and settle for less than what was purchased. Save yourself the hassle and the money. read more

Second time in two weeks I've tried to pickup curbside orders from this store. Both times I sat for about ten minutes waiting for someone to bring it to my car. Both times they failed. Today, at least the clerk was empathetic when I went in to get my order. WHAT IF I WAS SOMEONE THAT COULDN'T PHYSICALLY COME INTO THE STORE? I am a local business owner and I frequent Home Depot and Lowe's and Ace and true value hardware and Ferguson plumbing but mostly Home Depot in Palm Desert or La Quinta today I went to the Indio north Home Depot to get some pricing for a client and I noticed a bunch of wood it was all broken up and cracked and warped in a bin that said 70% off I love having fires and night so I thought well it's been 10 bucks and get all this wood and cut it up and have a nice fire to my amazement when I brought it to the cashier very tall man very rude. I'm flipping it over, trying to find the price tags and he just flat out said stop With no explanation and then he scanned all of the barcode on all eight or 10 pieces of what I had and it came to over $20 for broken cracked warped pieces of wood he did not honor the 70% off I will not go back just because of him and his lack of Personality and communication skills ever to that Home Depot read more

I am writing this review 3-4 weeks late, but I wanted to send out a commendation to some employees that were in the garden shop that helped me out. I came in to get pond pebbles (52 bags to be exact) and the row that they were in was being cleaned out so everything was blocked out for the aisle. Samantha, Arely, Jenny and Hector graciously let me come in and helped me not once but twice load and unload all the bags in my car. I had to make a few trips because I could only fit so many in my Honda. They were so kind, patient and helpful and I just want to make sure they are recognized for that. They also did an awesome job cleaning that aisle and making it organized. read more

This rating is all about the customer service. My husband and I walked in looking for two items. We find area for first item but don't see our brand. An associate says hi and asks if she can help. Told us they didn't carry brand but if their brand didn't work we could just return it and they'd see if they could order the brand we wanted. Perfect. Going to find next item, we get into department (where refrigerators are) and very nice older gentlemen asks if he can help us find something. He leads us directly to items (doesn't just point and move on) and asks us a few questions then shows us which item fits our needs best. Purchase our items. In and out in 15 minutes. None of the lines ever answered Aldo at this location, had excellent customer service went, checked the garden center for citrus trees out front and in the inside. Answered my questions. Obviously the store policy is to put returns back on the shelf whether defective, broken or good !! I just bought an extension chord that was an obvious return after I pulled it out. I try to check before I buy because this has happened about 4 times now on much bigger items. Is it that difficult to go through the items and make sure they are working and complete before they put them back on the shelf??? read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE to say the least. We put an order in on the last week of June to be delivered to our house July 24 they never called to let us know they wouldn't have it ready we had to keep calling to see what happened they said they didn't get the product in. They gave us another date august 10 to have it we called the 11th and nothing yet! But they said for sure in September yet we had to start making payments on the tile we never have received and managers of the department were useless in helping! When we tried to cancel literally took us 4 days until they finally let us cancel! Called the 1800 number they were no help either on cancellation. We got a better deal at Floor & Decor in la Quinta and received the tile the next day !! read more

One of the best service experience of my life time. I will be sharing this story years from now. It's Saturday Memorial Day weekend and I am at Home Depot to buy a grill. (I know it's the wrong time to go and buy a grill as it's a busy weekend but what can I say I am a sucker for pain.... and it was a hot weekend so grilling by the pool sounded great) It was pretty busy in the store but I was helped promptly. Since I don't have a large enough vehicle to bring back the grill, I was planning to rent the Home Depot truck. As an associate was ringing me up I was told that it was going to be a 3~4 hour wait to get the truck as there were 2 other customers ahead of me waiting on the truck. Once Armando, the store manager, understood the situation he asked me where I lived. He noticed that I was there with my family and it was around 12pm so I guess he was thinking that we wouldn't be able to use the grill that evening if we were to wait for the truck. The associate that was ringing me up was putting together the will call paper work when all the sudden Armando canceled the paper work and called one of his associates to help him load the grill on to his personal truck. I couldn't believe what was happening. I had to ask Armando, the store manager, twice... "Are you offering to personally deliver the grill to my house?" Yes.... so he and another associate loaded my new grill on to his truck and we drove back to my house. On the ride back home we a had a pleasant conversation and once we got home Armando and his associate unloaded the grill and placed it in front of my garage. Wow... what a service!!! I still can't believe it. I was able to put together the grill and we had a great dinner that night. (as a side note... even an entry level Weber grill is awesome!!! I was worried about all the horror stories of how difficult it was to put together the grill but I was able to put together the whole thing in less than two hours and I'm not very handy) Although there is another HD less than a mile away from my house, I'll be shopping at the North Indio Home Depot from now on. read more

inept management, zero follow-through. Ordered flooring + installation for one room They gave me order delivery date but no estimated time of delivery. I had to sit around all day waiting for the truck. The truck never came, no phone call form store I called the store, they said they would resend, no apology or explanation for nondelivery. Got another delivery date, again no estimated time The product was finally delivered and the installer came on time. The job was almost finished when the installer said he was short part of the order, he called the store and was told the missing part of the order would be delivered in 10 days. After 10 days order was delivered, it was the wrong color, the installer would have to come back to finish the job. A one day job took 15 days to complete. I'm done with Home Depot!! read more

I have rented 100 tools if not 1. I rented a floor buffer. It was unmanageable. I can work a jack hammer, a bobcat, a dozer, and am very mechanically minded. Didn't work at all. I returned and asked for a credit. It was assumed I was a liar and wanted a free ride. I talked to the "Rental Manager" who charges me $54 for nothing..... This was a huge ripoff. I recently rented a steam cleaner for my floor tile from Home Depot in Indio. Peter whe works in the Tool Rental area was very helpful, and even walked me around the store to get the chemicals that I needed in order to clean my tile and grouting. He's very friendly, helpful, and doesn't try to just upsell you for no reason. The Indio Home Depot should be glad to have him working there. read more

Beware the bait and switch. I went in looking for an under counter microwave. There was no one to be found in the appliance Dept. I found a gentleman in plumbing who called someone. 15 minutes later an associate showed up who told me that any microwave under $350 was not carried as a stock item and would have to be ordered. This would incur a $60 fee to deliver it to the store. I did not want to spend $250.00 for a $189.00 device so I left. read more

Went in to buy nuts and bolts that I needed. So as I'm checking out. I don't see any plastic bags. I ask the guy where the bags at. "They cost 10 cents". Two employees had no idea what I was talking about. An employee who was just getting ready to go home overheard my conversation and in 5 minutes I had everything I needed. Worst customer service of all time! Called to schedule an window treatment measurement, 1 week in advance. Paid the $50 fee. One day before they were supposed to come out - they imposed an additional $99 non-refundable trip fee on us - why didn't anyone tell us that up front? Then the contractor called that would be doing the measurement (they had the order on Monday) and also called us the day before we were excpecitng them - only to say they were booked and couldn't make it out on Friday. We were making a special trip to meet them and get the work in progress. DISAPPOINTING and will not be going back to that home depot for service of any kind. read more

Worst home depot I have ever been to - unfortunately nearest my "new" residence - the staff either isn't available, gives you wrong information, the manager Armando is quite simply "never around or available". The "floor managers" don't seem to be empowered to fix problems. The customer service corporate help desk just sends complaints back to the store where they fall on deaf ears. If you are prepared to find things yourself, check out yourself, and its nearby - guess it is OK. If you have a special order - be prepared for long waits or "no one able to help you". I've waited forty minutes to an hour numerous times with "management assistance" and still can't get an order placed. One more large corporation in a downward spiral - I lived in Delray Beach, FL many years ago when they were new - so good! Each year they seem to get worse. read more

I'm incredibly amazed by this Home Depot. I came across 3 people that worked there, a manger, an outdoor floral worker, and cashier. All of them seemed so happy to be there and they were all very helpful. The guy in the outdoor floral department approached me to give me details on the different flowers grow that I selected and he was very knowledgable of the different species. The cashier was just as helpful and even pointed out how our flowers had a warranty! I've shopped at many otherHome Depots each summer for flowers and have never had such good service. read more

Every time I go to this location, I leave dissatisfied. First of all, finding anyone who cares enough to help is like a game of Where's Waldo. When you do find someone, rather than taking you to where the item you're looking for is located, they give you directions (very vague directions at that.) On today's visit, there were so carts to be found anywhere. With so many employees standing around and talking to one another, it's more than frustrating trying to get their attention.
