The KOVA is a super cozy little brunch place on Staten Island. The first time we ever had it was during covid and we loved it so we finally decided to come in on a Thursday afternoon. There were just a few others there. The staff are so super friendly and attentive. We loved the beef roti a lot and the eggs Benedict was good. The cheeseburger was lacking no in seasoning. Our only complaint was that it was over 85 degrees out but there was no AC and just a small fan which made the dining experience less enjoyable.

Staff was very nice but a bit spotty with service. They were trying, so I absolutely don't fault them, but want to raise that they do need to tighten up service a bit (missed order, given a different order than asked, slow to receive order). The place is nice; aesthetically pleasing, feels airy without being cramped. One note that is if you sit in the back, the bench makes a lot of breaking sounds; and I promise the people sitting on it were of average build. The food; I personally ordered a strawberry matcha latte, hot and a lobster croissant. The latte was the perfect level of sweetness for me (just enough a touch more to mask the bitterness of matcha but enough for the matcha to come through). It was nice and creamy and a good size. The lobster croissant with fries was not lacking in quantity but a miss in flavor/execution. It wasn't bad, but didn't live up to expectations. The croissant was toasted to the point of being a bit past crunchy. And while there was a decent amount of lobster, I couldn't really taste the lobster with all strength of the dressing. The fries are hand cut but were soggy. To be clear, I ate it all and don't think it was terrible, but it wasn't great. Definitely would come back and think it's a lovely brunch option in the area!

Service was amazing, our waitress so sweet and patient! We all got different dishes and drinks. I got the Beef Roti, which was very filling and had a nice taste. It came with green sauce with a strong spinach flavor, adding more flavor. The Hibiscus Lemonade was alright and had a weak hibiscus flavor. Overall, would go back, especially with the tall tables!

Absolutely amazing!!!!!! It was busy on Saturday- barely was able to get a table. Customers were locals and came right in and knew exactly what to order. The staff was soooo well trained and had excellent customer service. Menu was simple and organized. Food is exactly what photos show and everything was on spot!!! Cute little coffee place with good breakfast. The eggs Benedict & the nutella french toast were delicious. The crème brûlée latte was really good but I wasn't a big fan of the iced mocha. The staff were friendly & we loved the ambiance of this place.

We visited Kova right when it opened on a Saturday morning and were allowed to seat ourselves! The interior was small and a bit dim but had a nice ambiance. We were asked several times if we wanted any drinks besides water which seemed slightly persistent, but I do understand that they pride themselves on their beverages and coffees with latte art. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich with spicy fries and the egg royale. The eggs benedict was solid, with a neat pile of smoked salmon, a perfectly poached egg, and the classic hollandaise sauce. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes which I found to be a bit bland and lacking. My boyfriend had the fried chicken sandwich and he said the chicken was nicely seasoned and not dry. However, he did note that some parts of the chicken tasted and felt undercooked. He also wished the spicy fries were spicier, but overall it was a decent meal. I enjoyed my time at The Kova, but the menu is limited and the food is average. I would recommend trying it at least once for the ambiance and to check it off your brunches in Staten Island list!

First time here, I got the fried chicken sandwich with wasabi aioli and it was pretty good! It's a small little restaurant but I believe they have two locations (one in bay ridge). I wish they added more wasabi aioli but nevertheless, super good! It also came with a ton of home cut fries. The service was good and they were nice.

The food was made to order- you can see it being cooked and smell the freshness from the griddle. The food had high quality ingredients and I could tell they take pride in preparing plates. The ambiance was cozy, modern, and clean. The space is small, but it's no different than an established space you could find in Manhattan or Brooklyn. It's not ideal for a baby stroller but I feel like their staff would accommodate as best as they could. We have a toddler and they were able to give us an extra chair for 3 on a side of their high top. The place had a lot of orders and was VERY Busy!!! We ordered the crème brûlée latte, the macchiato, chocolate chip pancakes, onion and mushroom omelette, the royal Benedict, the lavender lemonade and the hibiscus lemonade. All 5/5 stars!!!!

Loveeeee this place for brunch! Cozy little spot. Small dining area so best to go with a small group but we didn't have to wait for a table for a party of 2. Good food and nice drinks. I have also ordered delivery from them and the food holds up well. My go to's: Beef roti 5/5 - yummy! comes with a green sauce Cheeseburger 5/5 - it reminded me of a shake shack burger but better. melt in your mouth type of bite. Chicken sandwich 4.5/5 - crispy and well flavored Lavender latte 5/5 - cute latte art Spicy fries 4/5 - always yes to seasoning. Good portion of fries given with your entree.

Found this place after realizing our regular cafe wasn't open on Mondays and we are so glad we tried something new! Very warm and inviting cafe with friendly staff and excellent food. I had the "Kova" breakfast, wife had the Eggs Florentine, teenage son had the pulled chicken sandwich and my young daughter had the fruit salad. We all devoured our plates. Great Cortado and drip coffee as well! We will be back!

We've been to The Kova twice in the past 4 weeks. Both times our meals were delicious. Service was great, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is pretty small, limited seating. But we didn't have to wait, as we arrived when others were finishing up both times. We were there on Saturdays, early afternoon. I've had the spinach omelet with homefries, which was excellent. The second time I had the eggs florentine, which were perfectly prepared. We also had the french toast...delicious. I think the prices are more than reasonable, especially considering the fresh ingredients they use for their dishes. Not sure how long they've been around, we just found them. Hoping they can stick around for a long time, there's more on the menu we'd like to try! PS: The restroom was very clean. read more

Visiting from Florida for a wedding so of course I go to yelp for a breakfast place. 1st can't believe they still take your temperature before going in, threw me off. Place is clean, service mediocre, and food jus plain old meh. Had French toast and eggs Benedict. Tiny establishment with crappy parking but I am in New York. Can't wait to get back to the land of no restrictions (Florida)! read more

We walked in and there is only high top seating. So we sat at the bar facing the street. The waitress was in the middle of taking our order, and some other people came in and started to help them and was totally distracted with us. We waited quite a while for our food. We were told that they had alot of takeout orders. So takeout orders take precisdence over your done in customers? Then after quite some time our food arrives and my order was wrong. I ordered a mushroom and cheddar omelet and I got a mushroom omelette. Again the waitress totally distracted. Had to wait additional 10 minutes to remake my order. And a few minutes later my toast showed up. How hard is it to make breakfast??? Stay far away!!!!! A bunch of mindless millennials running this business with no regard or no clue how to serve! Never again read more

This restaurant is one of the most underrated brunch spots in staten island! Came with a party of 4, we got two cheeseburgers, eggs benedict, and bacon egg and cheese. This lovely new place is light, airy and relaxing. It has 5 tables and a counter. The server is a non-stop ball of friendly energy. The food came quickly and exactly as I wanted. The coffee is very good and by the time I finished the first cup it already felt like home. read more

Call ahead to pick up your orders, especially on the weekend!! They are really busy and you may end up spending a lot of time waiting. The interior is really cute and I can see why this place is popular. It's really modern and clean. Good for instagram! I got the burger, medium rare. It was quite big and came with a side of fries for $12.75 which isn't bad. The caramelized onions were delicious but I felt like the sauce for the burger was a tad too sweet. Also, the sauce was all on the side of the burger so when I got to the other side, it tasted like I was just eating meat. I lThe meat itself wasn't salted enough, and the flavor mostly came from the sauce. I liked the bun as it was really soft and buttery. Overall it was a good burger but I'm not sure if I would order it again. The fries are hand cut, however I got takeout and they were soggy. The flavor of them were good though! They were perfectly salted. I would come back and try their lattes! I am interested in the cream brûlée or lavender one. read more

We were sat at a table with no silverware. We place our order which includes two cups of tea. They bring the tea, still no silverware. So I ask for silverware. We're brought two forks and one butter knife. There is no sugar or cream on the table or offered. We ask for some Splenda and are given two packets. The eggs Benedict were average. The grilled cheese was very disappointing. Thre types of cheese and still no flavor. Why? Because there was almost no cheese on the sandwich! They could have tripled the amount and it still would not not been enough. Plus the bread was dry. Some butter would have been nice. How this place has a better than 4.5 star rating is hard to understand. read more

What a great little brunch cafe! Staten Island seriously lacks good brunch spots, so I was so happy to find The Kova, a hidden, inconspicuous gem that seems to belong in Downtown Brooklyn. Super trendy and casual, it's exactly what I was in the mood for on a sunny Friday afternoon. The menu is a perfect brunch blend with egg options, pancakes, sandwiches, salads and several different coffees and teas. I opted for the eggs benedict while my husband got the mexican omelet and added turkey bacon, which was no problem. We also shared a basic salad which comes with the delicious cilantro jalapeño house dressing that we really enjoyed. The creme brûlée iced coffee was really good too (creamy and not too sweet). We enjoyed our meal so much that we took a chicken roti to go which we shared later on and agreed it was soo tasty! I love little spots like this operated by such lovely people who truly care about their customers. The service was great, following covid protocol and made sure we were happy with everything! I was greatly disappointed by the breakfast I was served while dining one Sunday morning. There were literally 11 people in the restaurant spread across 4 tables. It took 50 minutes for my latte to be brought out. It was cold by the time it got to me. My husband was served about 15 minutes before me, of course we placed an order at the same table. My food arrived when he was done eating. My eggs were over cooked, no seasoning, no salt, pepper, ketchup anywhere, salad was about 10 leaves of arugula and unseasoned burnt tomatoes... never returning to this place. Don't waste your time or money. Plenty of better options to be had. Take a look at the picture below. It makes you wanna say.. did it take you 50 minutes to fry two eggs? read more

I ordered the blueberry pancakes served with fruit and an orange juice. My friend ordered The Kova Breakfast with an iced latte and side of fries. The fries were nice and crunch and hot! Very delicious! The park cakes were dry and couldn't taste the "pancake" I did taste the blueberry. Could be better. There were like 6 pieces of fruit which were okay. The place/atmosphere were super cute but small! The prices online and the menu given are different, there are no Belgian waffles with Nutella. The prices online are also more expensive which was a nice surprise when I looked at the physical menu. The blueberry pancakes were 12.95 I would come again if I were in Staten Island read more

Lovely little brunch spot. I came here on a lunch break with a few co-workers. I gave this place 5 stars because it had great food, wonderful service, and a nice and cute atmosphere. I decided to get the iced chai latte and my co-workers ordered the hibiscus iced tea. Both were scrumptious and delightful. As we were looking at the menu, we came across a lavender lemonade. We all oohed and aahed at the idea of it, but no one ordered. Not 5 minutes later, our waitress brought over a sampling of the lavender lemonade for us to try. Our collective eyes lit up as we sipped the sweet and delicious drink. We were so excited that our waitress was so attentive and surprised us with a yummy treat. My spinach and cheese omelette was good, but the home fries were the star of the plate. I was in awe of all the spices and magic they seemed to have put in it. Prices reflected the quality of the food and decor. I will definitely come back here and recommend to anyone looking for a brunch place in the area. read more

I love the fried chicken sandwich. It's like popcorn chicken in a sandwich. What more can you ask for?! The wasabi aloli is really what makes it unique. There are 3 tables outside to sit and eat. I ordered over the phone they called me to say the order was going to be ready even earlier. The service was good even with takeout. read more

Happy to found this little gem on the Island. When we first walked in, we were greeted with amazing friendly staff. We got the egg benedict and the banana pancake along with a tea and caramel latte. The food was cooked just right; love my latte that suits my taste. Such a cozy yet trendy spot to relax and have some great food. The food is so good that I ordered a side order of spicy fries on the go. This will definitely become my go-to spot to have breakfast/brunch. read more

I stumbled upon this little place when I was looking for a quick bite. At first impression, I was blown away by the decor and the interior. However what took the cake was their food and service. Everyone there was really friendly and I felt welcomed! On top of that, my food was cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend the chicken sandwich with spicy fries. It is out of this world. Pretty good service but I really thought that that was a gross oversight on part of the restaurant like indoor smoking is illegal in the first place and vaping really isn't any better (arguably worse depending on what scientific data you're looking at), plenty people have respiratory issues and just preference period. No one should be forced to sit anywhere where a no vaping policy isn't being enforced in 2026. I recently discovered The KOVA while searching for a brunch spot on Staten Island. Upon arrival, we were greeted and given choice to pick our seating. The restaurant was fairly quiet with only a couple of other people. I appreciated the simplicity of the interior design, which created a relaxed atmosphere. For our meals, my girlfriend ordered the eggs royale and I got for the fried chicken sandwich with spicy hand-cut fries. She found her eggs royale to be decent and found the potatoes to be bland. My fried chicken sandwich was enjoyable, but I encountered some undercooked parts of the chicken which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the box in which the sandwich was served was a bit small, making it challenging to eat without making a mess. The spicy hand-cut fries, while tasty, leaned more towards a sweet flavor profile rather than the expected spicy, and they could have been crispier for my liking. In conclusion, The KOVA offered a decent brunch experience with some room for improvement. While the food was enjoyable overall, there were some minor issues.
