I went to The Local yesterday with my aunt and cousin and ordered a Chicken Salad sandwich for lunch. It tasted delicious but the salad that was on the side was extremely over dressed. I just returned from The Local tonight for dinner with my grandparents and it was awful. My grandfather got the pot roast and the waiter said there would be onions, potatoes, and carrots in it. He received the pot roast and there were no potatoes in it. He proceeded to tell the waiter and the waiter told him that the onions in the broth were potatoes which they were not. Then the manager brought him over mashed potatoes as a substitute which he did not want. My nana ordered Colbie fish with mango salsa over greens. The waiter didn't ask her what kind of greens she would like and just gave her regular romaine lettuce. They also gave her a very small piece of fish with very little mango salsa over a bounty of lettuce. She did not like the lettuce and asked for spinach. The man returned with spinach that was undressed and dry. I ordered BBQ chicken with crushed pecans over it. First of all the chicken was very moist and a bit pink. The chicken was not marinated in BBQ. It looked like they just plopped it on the top as an after thought. Then there were no pecans on top at all. The topping was oats. Who would eat oats instead of pecans? Plus they put a random vegetable on the plate that I did not dare want to try. Our free appetizer was extremely dry veggies with bean paste. Which looked like that gross pink chicken blend that they make chicken mcnuggets out of or it looked like cat food. My nana said it tasted like hummus but I didn't want to try it. The manager didn't even do anything to make our experience better. She completely ignored us. She didn't even take any money off our bill. The service was awful and slow. The waiter was not helpful at all. They only offered us water to drink and nothing else. It was a horrible experience and we will never return. read more

This is a place that is trying to be nice, and the food is better than run-of-the-mill, and it's refreshing to see gluten-free food on the menu (which made two of our six happy!), and it's nice that the options are fresh, local, and healthy. However, the portions were very small- my sons $12 shrimp meal had FOUR shrimp on it. He almost cried when he saw how small the portion was. The food was just ok. Top quality fresh ingredients. The pink Gulf shrimp are really from the Gulf. Gulf shrimp taste better, that's why they are expensive 3. Unlimited re-fills on the iced tea. Skip the canned soda. You pay by the serving. 4. Soups are homemade, I had a very good gazpacho. 5. Customers sitting next to me said that it The Local was their favorite burger place because of high quality of beef and fresh garnishes. They also enjoyed that extensive dinner menu. BEWARE The FAKE Fusion Korean Tacos, bad, weird tasting and really, really oily. It was a given that the tortilla was Mexican, but they should have "grilled the taco, steamed it, or The chef forgot to drain the odd combo of pulled pork and beef meat it was cooked. The grease poured out of the tortilla on to the plate. The slaw and marinated onion were OK but NOT KOREAN. The shredded meat didn't contain seasons typical of Korean meat. The hostess said that there was lemon grass in the marinade. LEMONGRASS is a south east Asian condiment. It is not used in Korean flavored food. I don't even know if it is sold in typical Korean supermarkets. I never noticed it while I was in Seoul. This is a summary of what Wiki pedia says about Korean/Mexican fusion. Korean-Mexican fusion is a type of fusion cuisine originated in Los Angeles. Typical dishes include Korean tacos with Korean hot and spicy chicken and bulgogi burritos. We are first timers here but we will be back. When we sat down they gave us menus and brought a plate of fresh (organic) vegetables with a tasty humus. Everything was wonderful from the organic lettuce salad to the shrimp in a homemade pasta with an amazing yellow sauce. The huge piece of warm strawberry-apple pie made in the restaurant would be worth a trip alone! My wife had the battered trigger fish with tasty scalloped potatoes with cheese and chives. The food was served very hot and very fresh. The servers were friendly and prompt. Make this a MUST TRY on your list. read more

Dinner was excellent, we had the vegan plate and the pork special both had excellent flavor. We started with the spinach dip which is a must. All the entrees have unique style of cooking. We were so happy with our meals we got an extra one to take home , a shrimp and pasta special as Thursday's are 1/2 price pasta night. I went for restaurant week and it was great. We walked in with a party of 8 people at close to closing time, but they had no problem seating us. Or server was super nice and didn't rush us even though I'm sure he wanted to go home. The food was fantastic. I had the lentil soup, the mix green salad with the blue cheese crumbles and the wahoo with the roasted veggies and sautéed greens. He subbed out the sauce it normally comes with for a butter sauce. Family has had a place in Naples for over 6 years, and unfortunately it has taken us this long to come here. This will now be a go to on our vacations. Food is NOTICEABLY fresh and local sourced. Local beer selection is superb. Atmosphere is very relaxed. John is a phenomenal waiter who knew the menu front to back including the wine. We had the Ragu and Keto Steak. Both INCREDIBLE. Consistently is not a lot to ask for. Stopped on the way down to Lauderdale and had a good lunch. Fish tacos nicely seasoned and presented. The food came out promptly. On the way back three days later it was another story. It took over a half hour for the food to come out. There were four other customers in the place at the time. The fish tacos came out completely tasteless and poorly prepared. The waitress said "I have a new guy back there." So I guess we are supposed to subsidize the training of their new cook! The owners let their young children run around and sit at the bar. I think that was inappropriate. The place is interestingly decorated. It looks like a Restaurant Impossible makeover in a good way. The restroom was clean so that's good. They were taking applications for new staff which may not be a good sign. The owners seemed to be preoccupied with talking to a salesperson from the local television station for an advertising campaign. Stopped in for lunch on our way out of town. I wish we would have stopped in another time so we could have tried more items on the menu. Everything was fresh and I really like that they are using local ingredients which are highlighted on the menu. We had a burger (grass fed beef) with a gluten free bun, fish tacos and a snapper sandwich which they serve with a great salad that's perfectly dressed.
