The only bad thing I can say about The Local, is that is it not "local" to me! I live in Southern California. While driving down from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale we stopped by to have lunch during our drive, man was it a good decision. The vibe and look of the restaurant is really nice, and the food amazing. Service was so friendly and attentive. I had the Skirt Steak Pastrami, my son one of beef burgers and my wife and Kale Caesar with added grilled chicken breast. All of us enjoyed our meals. My Skirt Steak Pastrami was full of flavor and the bread fresh. All in all it was a great stop for lunch. Again if only they had one closer to where I live or in the Fort Lauderdale area where my son lives, it would be much easier for a deserved return visit. read more

love farm to table restaurants that use local ingredients. we came twice on our trip to naples. first time just for regular dinner we got kale caesar salad, vegan black bean burger, shrimp & clam fra diavolo, carnivore pizza, and coconut curried carrots. we all loved our meals. they felt very clean but satisfying. we saw the early bird dining menu so decided to come back for that. we got soup salad & entree for discount rate. that time we got the carbonara, beef brisket, and tomato basil gnocchi for our mains. these were fantastic while not making us feel weighed down but still full. we ended our meal with their heath bar banana bread pudding which was AMAZING! definitely a must try! read more

I've been here a number of times and it's generally quite good. On my most recent visit, a side and a dessert weren't great. Thier pizzas are great, so are thier plant based dishes. They have a great selection of craft beers. The Brussels sprouts side could've been cooked longer. The apple pie crust was soggy and didn't taste fresh. Overall though it's a good place. Such a cute place! I'm shocked it took me so long to try it. We had the In-House Turkey Sandwich and Tinga Tacos. The turkey on my sandwich was very tender and the pesto mayonnaise accompanied it perfectly. I opted for the veggie chips instead of the potato chips. My sandwich was $15 and an extra $1 for the veggie chips. My dad got the Tinga tacos and liked it but we were both still hungry. He only got 2 tacos and for $15, I think that's a little pricey. His side salad was an extra $3 and was very small. All in all I will be back but only if I'm not extremely hungry. The quality is good but it is a bit on the costly side for what you get. read more

This is the second and last time we've been here. I had the FL shrimp with corn and other vegetables. The shrimp was on the bottom of the plate and when I tried to cut it, I had to use a knife because it was so hard. Very over cooked, so spoke to the waitress, she apologized, and said she'd replace the shrimp. A little later she came back with 3 overcooked shrimp. The dinner had 6. Needless to say it was a flop. I ended up getting 9 bad shrimp, no offer to switch my dinner. The manager never came over and asked if he could help. My husband had pork tenderloin and said "it wasn't bad". The waitress was very sweet and knew I was unhappy but the kitchen wasn't helping her fix the problems. Just cheap brown tables with white chairs. Certainly not a comfy, cozy place for some for some mediocre to bad food. Will never return. read more

We've been to this restaurant many times, and I'd consider it a good local choice ( we live very close). Though the food is usually pretty good, the prices have gotten quite high since the pandemic, so I wouldn't consider it a great value for the money. I stopped in for a late lunch today as I just wanted something light and quick. Steamers is just a door away but it was so hot and sticky outside their chowder didn't call my name. The Local has good reviews, so I gave it a go. On a Tuesday in September at 2:30 I had the place to myself. It's a nice space, clean and bright with fun wall decor and artistically lettered chalkboards describing their beer menu and daily specials. I like the little potted succulents on the tables as they're a nice pop of fresh green against the dark wood tables. My server, Jessica, was five-star friendly and professional. Their house white is a Pinot Grigio, which I don't like, but the $9 Chardonnay was delicious. It's Taco Tuesday! so I ordered the Blackened Snapper Tacos. The corn tortillas were very light and delicate and there were plenty on the plate. The nicely-cooked fish was in good-sized pieces and topped with really fresh cabbage, lettuce, halved grape tomatoes, and too little of a delicious spicy aioli. I also tried the salsa verde on the table, their "Not so Effing Hot Sauce" and it was definitely spicier than I expected. SO FANTASTIC!!! This is one of the best meals I've had in a long time! We started with The Local Spinach Dip and OMG it was so flavorful, and the color was such a vibrant green. For my entree I had the chicken breast with blacked green beans and creamy au gratin hash. (FYI - each entree comes with 2 sides) It literally was the best meal I've had lately! I could eat it every night for dinner! My daughter had the Vegetable Pasta with a side of roasted cauliflower and she absolutely loved it! My mom had the Snapper Piccata with roasted cauliflower and sweet potato cake. My moms best friend had the Keto steak with roasted cauliflower and sweet potato cake. We all enjoyed every bite of our food!! AND.... of course we HAD to have dessert! The only downer for the night was the "shortage" of desserts. They were out of a lot of things. I came in for brunch and had a delicious dish. I got the brisket hash. This had potatoes, smoked brisket, peppers, onions, bacon aoli, and an over easy egg on top. The brisket was so smokey it coated my mouth with flavor on each bite. The bacon aoli was creamy and had a nice bacon flavor. This pulled together all the ingredients. Not my type of place but the food was good. The price for lunch is rather breathtaking. The big draw for us was their grass fed hamburger. It is served for lunch only. My daughter in law can only eat grass fed beef. So bingo we are good to go. I had their lentil soup, grouper sandwich, and the table shared the homemade apple pie. The soup was very good the grouper was supposed to be blackened but I sure never saw it. The grouper was rather bland and could have used the spice. We tried the beet salad with a disappointing local goat cheese and no sign of a promised orange slice squeeze or zest. The carbonara was the best of our choices - great pasta and a fresh egg on top. The pot roast was more like boiled beef with little seasoning or gravy. We ended the meal with a very dry apple and blueberry pie. How does anyone bake a DRY fruit pie ? Extremely overpriced. My entrée came with a small side salad...literally a side dish in a tiny bowl. I asked to add cucumber and tomato (one would think this would automatically come on a SALAD, but not here!) They charged $3 extra for the three peices of a diced tomato and cucumber. (Was also charged $2 to add lettuce and half slice of tomato to a kids burger!!) Wish I took a picture. I love and always support local business but this is downright insulting. What a great place!! My parents took me here while I was visiting and I have to say I was impressed with the food and service. Naples has some of the BEST places to dine and I've been to pretty much all of them all in the past 25 plus years. Supporting local businesses is important. The owners are a bother and sister and if your Vegan this is definitely a place for you too! They also support local farmers and the food is very fresh. They do not have a full bar however there is a nice wine selection and beer on tap (if you like draft) I did see a few cocktails on the menu and when I asked for a Vodka and soda the server immediately told me NO!! Weird since Vodka was in one of the cocktails they offered... The menu is not overwhelming at all and they have a nice 3 course meal fir $25.00 that you can't pass up especially when everything looks so yummy. Started with soups and salads: Chicken noodle was hands down the chefs grandmother's recipe the chicken melted in your mouth as if they injected butter into it prior.. Red lentil soup was delicious it needed a bit of salt and pepper Mixed Green Salad was super fresh and plenty of greens with some onions blue cheese crumbles and a nice slice of tomato Entrees: Cowboy brisket the meat was pretty tough and not that great Triple tail was a nice filet and prepared to perfection Kung Pu Avocado was hands down the BEST and favorite. Sauce was perfect and the avocados melted in your mouth. They do not offer any desserts or if they do we were not offered. Our server was spunky and very sweet. Just what we were looking for! My mom and I came here looking for a simple soup and sandwich and what I got was a spicy watermelon salad with a touch of sumac. My mom had a turkey soup and a salad. We had two desserts. Every bite was appreciated so much and we cleared our plates. The waitstaff was super polite. We would definitely come here again in my work took me to Naples again. Found this place in a strip mall almost didn't go in but glad we did. We were given a booth in the corner which was perfect for us (social distance) and Casey was our waiter. Not a huge menu so I had lots of questions which he was patient and answered, including having me try a small glass of wine since I was not familiar with the brand, it was excellent. Hubby went for the sunset menu, 3 items for $25, chickpea soup (I was unsure) and again was delicious, a house salad and the pork tenderloin over polenta. His dinner was amazing. I was not as hungry so got the beet salad, pecans, goat cheese with fresh grouper on top! It was perfect and we had banana bread pudding for dessert which was ok. We need to eat less pasta and no bananas as it is sugar to rot teeth but these are really great meals.
