went there for a special occasion. we reserved a table with the deluxe lover's lane package (which details appeared specific to Spokane). It appeared the waiter was clueless on what this was -- I had to keep asking the waiter for things that were in the package. For example, requesting the wine. Typically what you order is presented to you -- but it is like I had to extract it from him. Makes a special occasion awkward when I have to keep pointing out the package comes with X. How romantic, having to pull out my phone, to make sure I remembered what I was paying for, and point it out to the waiter. There was supposed to be a dozen roses... there weren't. It is not something I would care about myself... I casually commented on the dozen roses to my wife... who quickly commented there were not a dozen. So, it was obvious for both of us. It was just part of decor, fine... BUT the package was $195 and specifically included a dozen roses. It was supposed to have candles; I wouldn't usually complain, but since we paid extra for the package, there were not candles, they had some plastic electric candles. Also, the package was supposed to include a picture. Again, we had to request this, but the waiter said their system was down. Given how they were cutting corners, and we had to specifically ask for elements of our package, I can't say that I trust this waiter at all. Was it down? Was he just too lazy to take a picture? Who knows... Melting Pot didn't create enough trust to give them the benefit of the doubt. I might expect this type of service at a fast-casual type of restaurant. Not when you pay about $100 more for a special package. Food tasted fine. Especially the desert. We did like that we were tucked away in a semi private booth. If we would have just purchased the $99 for two, I would have felt I overpaid but i wouldn't have grumbled. But, having us pay double for a special package for a special occasion, and having a lame experience... would not recommend. I understand businesses operate to make money, and I am happy to pay for extra service. It seems that purchasing the special package was more for Melting Pot to have a romantic veneer, but is really a hollow money grab. read more

Always love the melting pot. Went here for just a date with my wife and didn't have an issue. Making reservations was easy, as they you yelp to do so. And they had a lot of times to choose from. After the reservation was made I received a text with different date night packages which I could choose from (added a photo.) They range from one rose and a framed picture for an additional $15 all the way to private rooms with entrees. I thought it would be nice to surprise the wife with half dozen roses and a photo for $35. The waiter(s) were great. There were two because one was training the other. Daniel and Jack made our experience fantastic. My biggest peeve at a restaurant is an empty drink. Daniel and Jack both made sure my drink was never empty. A+++ for these to gentlemen. The food was fantastic as always. We did our usual four course experience which included appetizer, salad, entree and desert. It's always great because you get to chose your cooking method for you food. We choose the traditional style with the classic entree which allows you to bread your meats, it was really good! Now our favorite part, desert! We chose the original option with an additional slice is cheesecake. The fondue we received was great, chocolate with peanut butter chunks. It includes a plate of tasty deserts which you dip in the fondue. Some of these include: rice crispy treats brownies, marshmallows (coated with goodness), angel food cake and much more. Went to experience the Melting Pot for their Valentine's Day special. We decided on the "Gold" package which was a four course with Champagne or Cider with dessert. We heard mixed reviews on the melting pot and knew it was a pretty penny we would spend coming here, but we figured for valentines, why not. We made reservations which they highly recommended. Got there and was seated quickly. The layout was was different from what I had in mind, but not in a bad way I guess. The waiter was friendly but I think stressed from all the hustle and bustle of the Valentines weekend events. He ran our drinks quickly, which were pretty tasty per his recommendations. The cheese fondue was so strong in wine taste and was not very cheesy at all more watery, so dissatisfied there. Main course was so yummy. And so was the chocolate fondue dessert. Dessert was probably the best thing of the night! Overall a fun different experience. It was very spendy, but worth a "special occasion" date to wine and dine with your other. The whole event took two hours to do since you have to prep and cook your own stuff so plan to stay a while. read more

Though I do love the food at Melting Pot, it's gotten to the point of ridiculousness with their portioning in comparison to their prices. My husband and I went there with some friends last night as part of "Restaurant Week" and were overall, very disappointed. We started with the Alpine cheese, which was delicious. However, we were literally given a tiny bowl of bread and veggies to share per couple. You can't tell me that apples and broccoli are so expensive that you can't give bigger portions. Granted, we did end up running out of cheese, so maybe the quantity needs to be increased there as well. Next we all had salads, which again, were measly in portion. The worst, though, was the entree portion. We all had the "meat lovers" and it consisted of 3 tiny pieces of filet, sirloin, chicken, and 2 tiny rounds of sausage. Literally 11 tiny bits of meat. We were only given one tiny bowl of vegetables to share amongst all 4 of us, which basically equated to one mushroom, potato slice, and piece of broccoli per person. We did choose to order dessert (dark & dulce), which wasn't included in the restaurant week pricing and while it was delicious, it was again lack luster in the portioning. On top of it all, the service was slow and seemed rushed when she was at the table. Overall, we continue to be disappointed and would rather spend the $120 on a meal that we'll actually be full from. Went for the Inlander restaurant week. Had a group of 6, took 45 minutes to get our drinks. They sat at the bar the whole time before we finally went up there to ask for them ourself, and the server finally brought them and took our order. When we got our salads mine had a chunk of latex glove in it. Disgusting, lost my appetite and didn't eat the rest of my meal because of that. Have never been to a place with worse service. The waiter was so unbelievably inattentive and sucked. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years and McDonalds does a better job with their service. Incredibly disappointed because I was really looking forward to going here and have wanted to try it for years. For the price it should have been top notch. We got there at 7 and didn't even get out of there until 9:45. That's how long it took to serve us and pay the tab. read more

You are definitely paying for a super unique dining experience. So this is a "once in a great while" visit for me, but tons of fun! For those whom are unsure, they prep all your food selections for you, but you cook them yourself at your table using the cook top and hot oil in the middle of the table. Meats, veggies, etc. The fondue experience is so much fun. All the food was top notch, from filet mignon to lobster. Great selections of unique cheese blends to dip different breads, veggies and such in. Definitely pricey, $180 for 2 people. But highly recommend. read more

I'll start by saying the host was very friendly and enjoyable, but after being seated things went downhill. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone came to talk to us, and the rest of the night wasn't any better. Our server was either nowhere to be found or talking to the table nearby for 20 minute intervals while we were sitting with empty plates waiting for the next course. Then he finally noticed after 20 minutes of us waiting for the next course and told us he would tell them to get the next round started. He forgot to bring almost everything we asked for the entire night. The two of us were there for 2.5 hours and most of that time was us sitting there waiting for food. Ordered TWO chocolate fondues and only received one dipping plate. Then was charged for a second dipping plate after sitting there with an empty one for awhile. Server acted annoyed when I asked for anything. Only spent 40 minutes there and will not go back to this location as well I won't recommend it. Girls night out at the Melting Pot. It was a lot of fun and had great food. we ordered the Wisconsin cheese pot fondue. The waitress was great. She made it fresh on the spot. She seemed a little over worked but always friendly and quick and attentive. For dessert we had the Chocolate, Carmel fondue. It was delightful. We had a great dinning experience. I only wish the Melting Pot was opened for lunch. It seems it appeals mostly to women and what a great to go for a women's lunch. My only complaint is when I went to order the waitress explained to me that this was $9.50 a person. We were forced to pay for two people yet when the food arrived it was ONE little bowl of Broccoli instead of a tiny bowl for each of us. Same with apples one tiny dish of apples yet charged for two. I would have given 5 stars if we were only charged $9.50 total not per person. Now on the other hand if we were charged per person then its only fair we each get a small dish of the portion such as broccoli or apple potion dished for each. My wife and I arrived without reservations and were promptly seated even though they looked very busy. I have to say this was one of the best places we have eaten at in Spokane. Everything from the kind waiter, to the ambiance, service, food and even the clean bathrooms were 5 star. When you come here expect to spend time with the people you are with... this is more like European style eating where you have multiple courses and plenty of time to enjoy it. You don't feel rushed and that is hard to find these days. You can tell they really think about the entire process from start to finish and aren't just serving a meal but an experience too. My husband laughed at me when I told him where I'd made reservations - we hadn't eaten here before - when we going out for a nice dinner , typically we may go to Clinkendaggers, Savory's or some other well-known spot ("somewhere nice") We were both surprised at what a nice evening we had, it far exceeded our expectations - private little room, was quiet which allowed us (a very stressed out/over scheduled married couple) a nice quiet evening just to talk. Our waitress was friendly, just-right attentive, and thoughtfully helped us figure out their menu without rushing us. Ambiance was relaxing and elegant. The food was fondue, of course - good, fun, and we were surprised how much we liked it.... both of us joked that it was our first fondue since the 1970's - and it was actually better than what our mom's had served back then (sorry, moms!) We did the the Big American 4 course dinner - angus/lobster main dish. Each of the fondu courses were good, the items to dip were fresh and flavorful. I was surprised at how good my iceberg lettuce salad was - it was fabulous (better than any other I've had in town). I realize its odd to rant about an iceburg salad - it was soooooo good. Wine bottle prices were fair, and desert choices were nicely varied. We ordered 2 extra bowls of veggies and mushrooms for fonduing - the veggies were delicious in the burghandy fondue broth we selected. Lobster and angus were great, too. The manager even stopped by to check on our evening and brought us more mushrooms. Would we go back? Absolutely - as we strolled back to our car, we decided this was the perfect place for nice, quiet dinner out. Other "nice" dinner places around town are noisy, not relaxing and offer too many distractions... for a few special hours with the one I love, - it was a very good dinner and we liked having the private little cozy rooms. I went to go leave a review here and was absolutely shocked this wasn't a close to 5 star place! You always have the few people who can't be satisfied, but this place is amazing! Something to be warned about, is this is a high end restaurant. Expect to spend a lot of money. As I see it this is a special event restaurant...perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, etc. etc... The place is extremely romantic, especially in the intimate booths with a curtain. The experience and food here is worth the price to me . Also, make reservations. I don't know why this is hard to do...you can set them up on the phone or on the website. Takes a couple minutes and is super easy. I don't see this as a downside and would expect to make reservations for high end restaurants. I have gone twice now, once for a birthday and once for our after wedding romantic dinner on Valentine's Day. Both times the service was phenomenal! Very personal, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and plus they have to juggle extra tasks that normal waiters/waitresses don't have to deal with. I have been incredibly impressed with the service here. The cocktails are amazing. The first time here I had their signature Love Martini which was really great . This last time we had two each, all of which were delicious! The food is wonderful! Everything tastes fresh and I enjoy every minute of the experience of dipping and cooking your own food. I love melted cheese - so both the cheese fondues were incredible. Salads were scrumptious both times. I also enjoyed our entrees, they have 8 sauces to use which are all pretty good, however, my absolute favorite is this curry sauce which is soooooo yummy! We had to get an extra side of it this time because we just devour it. Enjoyed the dessert both times, had a creme pie chocolate fondue this last time which was very good, but I think the white chocolate creme brulee from the time before was even better. So in a nutshell, from both experiences, the restaurant has a great romantic atmosphere, great cocktails, great fresh food, and is expensive but well worth it in my opinion! Me and my boyfriend went there for our anniversary and it was fantastic. Had a private booth with a curtain for privacy which was very nice and romantic. Server always knocked before coming in. The food was great! We did the 4 course option and each course was great. The salads were only slightly underwhelming but the rest of the meal made up for it. We got seated, and then our server (Jackie) ruined the experience for us. Poor hygiene, smelled terribly, and even that I could partially deal with but her rudeness is what blew it for me. We asked for a different server, Ben who was fantastic! Jackie then decided to personally attack us by putting unwarranted negative notes about us, and kept rolling her eyes and giving nasty looks when passing by her. They seated us in the back of the restaurant, only 2 other tables in the whole place. 20 minutes after we were seated, I had to go to the front desk and tell them we had not been helped. Finally we got a server. First time there things were not explained very well. Food was OK, kind of hard for 4 people to use one pot and even less room on the tables for the food and plates.
