Derek Day and Think X rocking the house!!
    Dean T.

My wife and I enjoyed the Think X show on December 30 and had a wonderful time. This is the type of smaller venue that makes everyone feel at home. Yes, we all bumped up against each other, but there were never any hard feelings about it. Instead, everyone always had a smile. Despite the fact that the bar was PACKED for the show, our server was almost unbelievably attentive. Even closing out our tab only took 2ish minutes, with a couple hundred people present. the drinks were good and STRONG, too. This is what I like - if we're going to pay L.A. prices for drinks, make them good...and they did! As for the show, it was incredible and the sound was remarkable (and important note, as good sound is sometimes lacking in smaller venues). Plus, the tickets were only like 35 bucks! WE DID NOT get to eat, as all of the tables were booked, but I could see and smell other people's food and it looked INCREDIBLE. This was our first trip to The Mint, but it definitely isn't going to be our last. Thank you for giving us an amazing night!

Cool place nice vibe! Definitely advise making a reservation unless you don't mind standing up (there's a $25 min per person if you have food) The food was surprisingly good I had the taquitos for the price it was very good!

A great time was had by all. On this particular night, the rebirth brass band from New Orleans was playing and boy did they ever turn the place out. It was a full house, and the band was great. I meant has more room than most would think if you just looked at it from the outside. Going forward, I highly recommend this club to see some great live entertainment.

Great vibes and jazz! Went for my friend birthday and we had an amazing time enjoying the music and food. Food and drinks are bar priced so it's expected to pay a lil more. We enjoy the Philly cheese steak sandwich. The guy who presented it to us was so proud of his sandwich hahah

Another LA iconic establishment that is a must try if you're a local or in town for a visit. I've only been here twice to catch some live shows and support a friends band on stage. This last time I got a chance to try the surprisingly great food The Mint has to offer! I had a go at their taquitos dorados (chicken taquitos). They did not disappoint. It's off the appetizer menu and for me it was meal in itself. Comes with a plop of guacamole, cream and a spicy dipping sauce. Well done Mint kitchen! If you're here to catch a band performance, it's a great view from pretty much anywhere. There are also booths for your more intimate gatherings and slightly higher vantage point. Finally it's a full service bar that can knock out what ever you desire so get creative. Parking can be tricky so arrive with some time to search for a spot on the street. Already looking forward to my next visit. Come on in and pull up a seat and enjoy the show!

I had the opportunity to visit The Mint and I had a great time. Great vegan burger and amazing entertainment from Tony Walk. Curb side parking, security present as well. Nice intimate seating, full service bar.

    Kaitlyn - "I forgot"
    Jay J.

I like The Mint. As a booker of touring acts, I appreciate the opportunity they give to musicians. So it pains me to write this about the service I received at the hands of "Kaitlyn" on Saturday November 15. I and my lady bought VIP booth seats to see Amina Buddafly. I start with a bottle of Chardonnay, which on the menu is listed at $46. When Kaitlyn brings the check - I bought it separate from the meal - the bottle price was $52. I'll come back to that. While waiting for the show to start, we order dinner. First my lady, then I order a Cobb salad, the Philly cheese steak sandwich and fries. Kaitlyn clearly hears me because I ask if the fries have seasoning and she tells me they're garlic and parm. A short time later, a server brings my lady's plate out. Great. Food looks good. 10 minutes go by. Then 20, 30, and after 40 minutes , and my lady's already finished her meal, and Kaitlyn darting past our booth several times showing no interest in the "VIPs", I finally stop her and ask where's my order. Her answer was stunning. In an almost joking or dismissive manner she says "I forgot". YOU FORGOT? Obviously this is upsetting, so I demand an explanation. Her non-chalant, uncaring, "so what" attitude is what angered me the most. So I get up and find the manager, Eloy, at the bar. I explain to him I've been waiting 40 minutes for the dinner and Kaitlyn tells me she forgot. He saved the night by taking care of the order himself and quickly getting it to our table. But, a discount should have been offered, if not a comped meal! Back to the wine. Before the dinner debacle, I asked Kaitlyn to explain the wine price discrepancy. She said whatever is on the ticket is the price, even though the menu, the QR code and online says the wine is $46, not $52. So, I say to her, maybe you can straighten it out with the bar and get the price to what it says on the menus - $46. She walked away and never said anything after that. I believe it was that interaction that led to her "forgetting" my meal. I'm not in her brain nor heart, but I can't help to feel her behavior was intentional. Let me suggest a bit more training for this young lady, as customers shouldn't have to experience this, especially at a place they revere. If my assessment is wrong, I'm happy to hear back, but until then let this serve as a warning - if Kaitlyn is your server at The Mint, make sure she stays on her job she's apparently not qualified to do.

It's been years since I've gone to a club to see a band. There was a time when I was out almost every night of the week. However, I mainly stuck to the Hollywood area and never ventured to the Mint. My girlfriend met Freemor on a plane and she invited me to join her to catch his live performance. She bought tickets online, but you can also purchase them at the door. The club has a cozy, intimate vibe. If you want to sit at a table there's a $20 minimum per person. It's nicely laid out so you pretty much have a good view whether you are sitting or standing. Jessica was our server, and she was fantastic. She was the only one working the room and she managed it like a pro. I ordered a Peach Margarita (El Jimador, Crème de Peche, Fresh Lime, muddled jalapeño.) My friend a Paloma and her sister a dirty martini. All drinks are $15. The Margarita was refreshing, delicious, and nicely balanced. It had a little bit of sweetness from the Peach liquor with a little bit of spiciness on the back end from the jalapeño. My friend & I shared the Calamari Tempura $13 and her sister the Thai Shrimp Salad ($18). The salad was impressive, and the shrimp were huge! She loved it! The Calamari was very tasty and came with an herb aioli & chipotle aioli both of which were also good. Boys In Shorts had the honor of kicking off the festivities. They are a DIY alt rock band. Their set consisted of lively, upbeat tunes that had the crowd dancing. They even played a great cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive," which everyone sang along to. These guys were great! Follow them @boysinshortsband. Freemor is an indie artist whose unique sound is a fusion of alt, funk, soul, & psychedelia. He's backed by a team of seasoned musician including a female drummer. Collectively they delivered an energetic set of catchy tunes that got your blood flowin' and fists pumpin.' Follow him at @freemorl Both bands were entertaining and made me miss my club days. I'd come back to The Mint for another live performance. The sound was great, the acoustics are good, and each act went on at their scheduled set time. *50% off your second cocktail with Yelp check in. *Free street parking after 6 pm

Ask the Community - The Mint

I'm looking to get tickets to the Robert Jon show, but it looks like seating is limited. My wife has issues where she can't stand for a super long time. Are shows standing room only, or is there a way to get a seat?

Hi Miguel, For this show you can just buy your tickets and then fill out a form for a dinner… Read more

    Is it 21 and over?

Most shows are 21+, some are 16+ or 18+ and will be noted on the show page. Underage attendees are subject for a $5 fee.

    How's the parking?

Street parking is pretty easy and safe walking

If there are no tables left, is this venue standing room only?

I'm 90% sure that there's seating at the bar too

Aside from buying tickets, are table reservations required in advance? Also are large parties easily accommodated?

It depends on the event. Table reservations can be purchased through the website selling the concert tickets. I would contact them directly about large party accommodations.

Why is this venue coming up in a search of bowling alleys? Doe the Mint host bowling nowadays?

No, there is no bowling here. It's a small bar w a stage for bands.

Is there an open mic here?

No, we don't have an open mic.

This location was the perfect halfway point for all of us. We arrived bright and early around 9:30 AM on a Wednesday. I had called ahead to reserve a booth, my absolute favorite kind of seating. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. Our server (I unfortunately forgot his name!) was fantastic. He brought out fresh coffee right away, took our breakfast orders, and was extremely kind, polite, and attentive throughout our entire meal. The menu has plenty of options, ranging from scratch-made omelettes and burritos to salads and a dedicated kids' menu. The Breakfast Plate Specials ($12-$14) Both my cousin and aunts ordered this. It came loaded with pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast--an absolute steal for the price~ Turkey Club Sandwich & Fries: I was in the mood for lunch, so I opted for the club. The fries were hot and perfectly crispy. The sandwich itself was wonderful, packed with turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My only tiny critique is that I wish it came with mayo (I'm a huge mayo fan!). However, I ordered a side of ranch which paired perfectly and really elevated the sandwich. The vibe here is incredibly laid-back, welcoming, and brightly lit. Everything--including the restrooms--was sparkling clean. They had TVs playing a local soccer game and a nice bar area where it looks like they serve up a great selection of beer and wine for happy hour. I didn't grab an alcoholic drink this time, but I already have my eye on a cranberry mimosa for my next visit! Before you leave, make sure to check out the front counter--they have a massive display of freshly baked cookies, pies, and other goodies~ For the price, the food is absolutely worth it and the service is top-notch. Thank you so much, Dinah's Comfort Kitchen--we will definitely be back when we're in the area again!

I ordered a loaded carne asada-style dish served over fresh greens, and every bite was intentional and well-balanced. The beef was deeply seasoned, tender, and slightly crisped in places, which added great texture. It was topped with a creamy, slightly tangy sauce that tied everything together without overpowering the meat. What really stood out was the attention to detail: pickled red onions for acidity, fresh greens for balance, and a side of house-made pickled vegetables that cut through the richness perfectly. The tostada-style side topped with avocado, herbs, and onions added a nice contrast--crunchy, fresh, and vibrant. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Portion size was generous without feeling excessive, and the dish felt hearty yet clean. I paired it with a refreshing citrus drink that complemented the meal well and kept everything light. Overall, this is the kind of place where you can tell the kitchen cares about execution. Bold flavors, great balance, and a presentation that looks just as good as it tastes. The dining room was small but warm and colorful and there were additional tables set up just outside the front door. We had no problem finding a table inside. The restaurant is located at the Beverly Center and does not validate parking. The good news is that parking is relatively affordable at $1 per hour. Since I don't eat meat or chicken, I checked the menu online beforehand and found several options that looked appealing. Unfortunately, once we were seated, we were given a completely different menu. When I asked about it, our server, Lindsey, explained that the menu I had seen online isn't available until after 3 p.m. That was disappointing since I had already planned my meal. We started with the biscuits. They had a strong smoky flavor that honestly made me think they were baked with pork fat or in an oven used for barbecue. Lindsey assured me they weren't made with any meat fats, but the smoky flavor was definitely noticeable. I ordered the salmon with microgreens and a side of mac and cheese. My partner ordered the steak and eggs with hash browns, and we both enjoyed the mint mocktails--they were refreshing and one of the highlights of the meal. The salmon was cooked well and I enjoyed it. The mac and cheese, however, was a huge letdown. It arrived in a cute little cast-iron skillet on a butcher block, so the presentation was great, but the taste didn't match the appearance. It reminded me of boxed mac and cheese made with powdered cheese, topped with Parmesan just to create a crust. It was runny, lacked richness, and there wasn't even a hint of that satisfying cheese pull. Unfortunately, there were service issues as well. My partner specifically ordered his eggs over hard, but they weren't prepared that way. His hash browns never arrived at the table, and on the drive home he realized we had been charged for them. He intended to mention it before leaving but simply forgot. The biggest positive is the restaurant itself. It's beautiful, stylish, and has a great ambiance. Beyond that, though, I found the food to be average for the price. Even by Los Angeles standards, $42 for chicken and waffles feels excessive. Overall, Yardbird looks better than it tastes. While there were a few bright spots, the inconsistent service, menu confusion, and underwhelming food don't justify the price. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.

Huge portions at cheap prices; so glad they're back!! We happened to visit on their 2nd anniversary…read moreof reopening. :) They were so kind while we were checking out, and we had a great short conversation. I got the small Spaghetti (which I believe came with a piece of their garlic bread), and a side of Caesar Salad. So yummy; the sauce was simple and fresh and tomatoey, and I loved how cold the salad was and how the amount of dressing was JUST right. Perfect side to go along with all the carbs. The interior itself is spacious with tall, tall ceilings and plenty of decor on all the walls. There was plenty of seating throughout the space also! Glad to have Andre's as an option in the neighborhood again, and will be back soon!

My wife could go on for hours talking about how great the spaghetti here is the same way I could talk about Shohei Ohtani's magnificence as a baseball player. Regrettably, I do not share in her love of this place. I find the food to be very basic and akin to cafeteria food. And before anyone blasts me for this comment, they actually serve you food in cafeteria trays! I've tried their signature spaghetti with meat sauce. The sauce is very bland. The other day, I tried out their pepperoni pizza for the first time. It was so greasy and soggy that I couldn't finish it, even at the risk of offending the wife. Just about the only thing I enjoy here is the salad. Like everything else, it's nothing fancy, but it is the most satisfying thing to eat. It's served cold with a creamy and light dressing. Some final thoughts before I wrap up this review. The food is very cheap as is the parking in the back of the restaurant. Parking is only two bucks if you get it validated by the cashier. While it pains me to disparage this place, it pains me even more knowing that I will have to make yet another pilgrimage to this restaurant at some point in the not so distant future.

It was also really easy to make a reservation online (I believe it's through Resy). I thought the service was incredible from start to finish. Our table was ready for us to sit right away, and while service was great, it was not overbearing. Our drinks were always full, and there was just enough attention where we could get something if needed. We enjoyed the food. The dishes felt "simple", but yet well executed. I wouldn't say this is the finest dining you've ever had, but all of our dishes were delicious, fresh, and well prepared. * Fish and chips with caesar salad: delicious light batter - the chips (fries) were delicious and very nicely fried; the garlic aioli was amazing. The caesar salad * Caesar salad: Nicely done, very good croutons, and I appreciate they were willing to put the dressing on the side to control the amount of dressing on the salad * Trout: It was a nice, light fry, and very tasty. It was not very salty, and the garlic aioli was a perfect complement to the fish. The green beans it came with were deliciously cooked with a nice crisp and almond slivers * Vegetarian chili soup: The chili soup was delicious. My kids don't like chili but really liked this * Fish pasta: The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the fish was so fresh. The pasta sauce was a nice compliment to the fish. It also came with some butter bread which was absolutely delicious and so nicely (heavily) buttered and toasted. It tasked like two very large crispy / soft croutons The neatest part were the movie posters in the hallway on the way to the bathroom. I was able to recognize all the movies (crazy how many Spielberg produced), and my kids recognized quite a few of them as well. I also appreciate that they celebrated my boys' birthday with ice cream sundaes (which they said were deliciously creamy).
